Inshal woke up in a burst of excitement, she had heard stories of all the beautiful creatures that live on the Earth. Some big some small and she was also told the dangers of some, the humans, elfs and furrys all live there to but they think very differently. "Calm down Inshal, you won't have to wait much longer anymore" her mother patted her, between the horns that she noticed that only she has. Inshal has spent hours at a time trying to figure out why she was soo obviously different from everyone else that she has met. She asked her mother once but got hushed right away, Inshal just thought that her mother thought that she was being silly or something.
"So when can we go? can we go now?" Inshal asked impatiently barly able to keep herself together.
"No we can't go yet, go to the main hall if you can't handle sitting still, Anna should be there" Elea suggested as she was packing a bag. She was putting picnic food in with some other emergency items. "Ok see you" Inshal dashed out before her mother could correct her of her manners, she did that a lot but she had over heard strange conversations that kinda gave her the answer.
She heard some angels talk about how pure and smart her mother is and that her child is supposed to match it but they also said that it wouldn't work because of her. She never understood what was wrong with her, she knew that she was the same as most but nothing else that she could see was wrong. Once she went inside it was the same old story, everyone would have a tiny hint of shock but then ignored her and continued with their day. Inshal looker around and saw Anna (who was like a second mother to her) was tending to an angel with a deep scratch on his left wing.
"What did that" Inshal asked when she approached.
"What do you think?" the angel, who was a warrior, spat.
"I don't know... a tiger?" she guessed. The warrior frowned.
"So what would I need to do?" he asked Anna.
"Keep it wrapped and clean, any pain just come back" Anna then directed him out, she closed the door and turned to her.
"Some angels need to learn some manners" Anna sighed but she sounded as if she was joking.
"Yeah..." Inshal knows that she has been lacking with her own manners so she forgave him.
"So you excited to see the Earth?" Anna asked sitting down.
"You bet I am" Inshal swashed her tail around and accidentally smashed a pot of herbs, "sorry".
"No problem I can clean it" Anna smiled and picked it all up and sweeped the floor.
Inshal wait not too long until her mother walked in, "Anna how are you today?".
"Good, you?" Anna greated her with a hug.
"I just want a few extra herbs before we go down" Elea asked lifting Inshal into a hug. Inshal loves it when she gets a hug, sometimes she craves for someone to give her a hug. "Of course one second" Anna took the little string tied bag and feeled with herbs Inshal couldn't recognised.
"Thank you" Elea thanked, "come on we'll be off" Inshal then jumped to her mothers side. They went to a new part that Inshal has not yet seen, it had a steep dip and a platform that looks to be the lowest part of the hevens. Under the soft and protected clouds is a rich but bright green, "what are those?" Inshal asked from the top of the ledge.
"Trees, beautiful aren't they?" Elea sounded so fascinated by them.
"Woh, you are not taking her down" a warrior who was guarding the ledge.
"Is there a problem?" Elea stepped infront of Inshal and separated him from her.
"Yes, that is not allowed down" the gard pointed at Inshal and a feeling she never felt bubbled within her.
"Inshal has the right to explore the Earth as much as any other angel" Elea pushed his arm away.
"By who's orders?" the warrior asked calmly.
"By my order as her mother" Elea objected.
"I'm not sure, what trouble could she cause?" the warrior narrowed his eyes.
"She won't cause any trouble what so ever, now if you don't mind I will bring my child down" Eleas halo glowed and the warrior stepped aside. Inshal has used her wings to move faster around but never had used them to fly down such a long way that by the time she got down there she felt most of her energy has been used up. "Not so easy isn't it? but you did very well" her mother complemented her. "Come on we should get out of the clearing" Elea signalled for her to follow.
"Why? shouldn't we be safe?" Inshal asked looking around to see no-one in sight.
"Yes most creatures will leave us be but creatures like humans, elfs and furrys should not see us, it's too dangerous. Mostly for them" Elea explained.
"Why? and why them?" Inshal couldn't understand why it would be so dangerous for them just to see her. "That's hard to explain but as long as you understand that you can not be seen it will be enough for now" Elea spoke as they got engulfed by the tall trees.
Inshal spent hours looking at all the new and interesting creatures that romed the Earth. She got startled by the sound of multiple creatures, she couldn't tell if it was aggressive or not, she then heard her mother laughing. "It startled me when I first heard them to" Elea then guided her to the sound, "just don't startle them". They ended up going to the edge of the forest and Inshal saw abunch of creatures the same species on four legs, all playing with each other. "Beautiful aren't they, horses" Inshal realised that her mothers bottom half was just like them.
Suddenly one horse wined and all of them went on alert, "watch yourself Inshal, something is nearby" Elea pulled her back and signalled her to watch.
"Why?" Inshal leaned closer and saw a tiger stalking in the bushes. It jumped out and landed on the back of a male horse, the horse buckd and thrown it into back into the bushes. "What was that about?" Inshal asked her mother.
"Creatures like tigers, wolves and bears hunt creatures like horses, dears and fish" Elea explained the hole predator and prey sycal.
Inshal spent the hole day down in the grass exsaming every creature she incounded. At the end of the day she went back up but it was a much harder challenge then she thought, it got that hard that she had to be carried half way up. Once she got up there an angel who has not got a visible body but is definitely not a child was waiting. "Can I help you, Newlaw?" Her mother greeted him with much respect. Inshal could sense that she knew him but couldn't place it.
"I would to see Inshal alone please" Newlaw spoke and Elea has a look of hesitation.
"Don't worry she will be back before midnight" Newlaw assured.
"Alright, listen to Newlaw ok" Elea put her down and left to their home.
"Come now" Newlaw said and began to head of in a direction she has not been in before. They travelled in silence for a while until they reached a large hall like building. Newlaw opend the door and guided her to a small room with a table and a couple of chairs. "So how have you been lately?" he asked.
"Alright, you?" Inshal asked not knowing what else to say.
"I've been well thank you, but I must ask how was it like on Earth? a lot different form here in the hevens" Newlaw asked calmly.
"Beautiful, all the different species, the way they all live, how they interact with each other it's beautiful" Inshal wagged her tail a little then remembering what happened that morning and calmed it down. A pleases look was on Newlaw.
"Good, nice to hear that you like it" he nodded.
"Do all angels get asked what they think?" Inshal asked mainly because she had enough of soo many angels treating her differently.
"No but I do like to know what you would think" Newlaw sounded a little too pleased.
"Why me?" Inshal asked, "why not anyone else?".
"You will be told in due time young one but do you know what power you have?" Newlaw asked.
"No I haven't really thought of it" Inshal shook her head.
"Ever heard of the power to calm any creature no matter its power?" he asked and leaned a bit too close.
"Yes, no... I've only read a little about it" Inshal leaned back.
"Well when you were a few weeks old you managed to calm me right down from a rage, I've never seen an angel with that much power before" Newlaw looked impressed as if she did it right then and there.
"I did?" Inshal found it hard to believe.
"Yes, from a newborn as well imagine what kind of power you would have with training, you could be apart of us" Newlaw sounded as if it was not a suggestion but an order.
"You want me to be in the second council?" Inshal sounded more shocked then she felt.
"You could, but do you have the disaplin and right temperament to be so?" Newlaw exsamend her.
"I... I don't know" Inshal felt hot form the inside.
"Of course you won't, not now at least but as you grow consider it, I will welcome you" Newlaw relaxed into his chair. "You should have a meal here, it will be too late for you to eat at home" he suggested.
"Ok..." Inshal didn't hear most of what he said, to be apart of the second council, she had been told that only the purest and most wise of angels are aloud to be apart of any council but the second one. What an honour.
Inshal ate at the large Hall like building then was assorted home, once she got there her mother was outside tending to the guardian. The next couple of days went on like normal but not even a week later Elea was called to the platform that leads to the Earth. Inshal was told to stay back and Elea flew down, Inshal had to see throw gaps in from the warriors. There was a twisted creature with scaly wings with sharp edges, horns that twist up and a long deep red tail in the same shape as hers. Unlike her tail which is soft fur, his was harsh and scaly.
"I just want to meet them" he pleaded in a cold voice.
"Your kind is not aloud here, leave!" one warrior flared his wings and the soft feathers doubled in size.
"I mean no harm, now you can't keep me away from my kin" he sounded more aggressive now.
"You should leave now!" Newlaws voice hollowed to the platform.
"What is that?" Inshal asked mainly to herself but she made sure that the warrior could hear her.
"You really don't know?" laughed the warrior who had the slash on his wing.
"No" Inshal took a closer look at the twisted creature and then she felt sick as if she would vomit.
"Well that says a lot" he continued to laugh.
"I'm not leaving without them!" the cold voice screeched and Inshal just wanted to go back home and hide, to let the clouds protect her. He then looked up to the laughing warrior and pointed directly at Inshal, she felt panic run through her. "Her! You come down!" he ordered. Inshal didn't move an inch.
"I said that you should leave!" Newlaw put himself in between her and the twisted creature.
"I've seen her now! I'm not leaving!" he swished his tail and the pointed ends cut through the warrior who had confronted him.
"Why do you care?" Newlaw didn't sound all that threatening but as if he genuinely wanted to know.
"She is my kin, my blood, as far as I'm aware I'm the only demon who slept with an angel for a long while" he hissed deep in his throat and the sound made Inshal duck even lower.
"You are not allowed to bring her to the underworld, but if you are allowed to see her that's up to her mother" Newlaw declared and all the angels was shocked to hear. Even the demon took a step back from shock.
"Could you bring the mother here?" he asked.
"I already am" Elea emerged from the crowd.
"Good now can she come with me?" He asked keeping a good distance.
"Absolutely not, she is not allowed anywhere near you as long as I'm alive" Elea crossed her arms.
"You can't keep me from seeing my daughter" he hissed and took a step closer, "I know I'm not all that holly but I still should have a right to see my child".
"I don't want her with any of your kind" Elea flared her wings.
"You were the one who wanted it so now why are you punishing me!?" he stomped his foot with a deep hiss.
"You had a spell on me! I sensed that and you basically forced yourself on me!" Elea flapped her wings threateningly.
"I have done some unforgivable things but never rape!" he swong his wings to the side.
"Elea!" Newlaw called out, "he has the right, and he is no demon of rape his horns are not the right shape to be like that" he explained.
"So, I'm just ment to be OK with Inshal being with this monster?" Elea asked but kept a tone of respect.
"Yes" Newlaw nodded his head.
After a few days, she was allowed to meet up with her father for the first time. She waited in the trees until he arrived.
"Inshal" he said softly, Inshal turned around to see that same twisted creature, he looked a lot creepier from up close. "Nice to finally meet you" he said admiring her.
"You to" Inshal said, it was only after her mother got back home when she explained that Inshal was a hybrid and that 'Darkin' is her father.
"I would like to show you something, something you would be needing for the rest of your life" he then walked of in a direction and Inshal followed. He didn't kept to the trees, didn't hide in shelter, he just walked out in the open not caring about anything.
"What is it?" Inshal asked constantly checking behind her.
"Ever heard of humans?" Darkin asked.
"Yes, we must keep out of there sight" Inshal replied, hoping that it would impress him that she already knew.
"Why? they are weaklings, you could kill them with one slash of your tail" he amused.
"Well what about them?" Inshal asked now wondering what lesson he will be teaching her.
"They are so easily scared, I'm going to show you how to mess with them" he then pointed to a path with a horses tied to a cart pulling some humans on it.
Inshal watched as Darkin aloud his twisted horns to glow, before she could figure out what he was doing the horses. The horses all flung up into a fright and she then heard the humans scream, a dark creature made from shadows emerged from beneath the ground. It snarled and all the humans fled along with the horses. Her father flew into a storm of laughter, "that's just cruel!" Inshal spat.
"Come isn't it a little bit funny, look at them run" he turned to her and frowned, "what's with that?".
"You said that you have something to show me" Inshal sounded annoyed, and she felt that way.
"I did, I'm a trickster I can bend the shadows to my will, I can make myself seem more fears and powerful and most importantly I can make many creatures bend to my orders" he sounded proud.
"You can't do that! there is no honor! how unnatural can you be!" Inshal protested.
"You're such an angel aren't you?" Darkin shook his head, "you may not see it now but one day when you're older you will, I can sense and power in you. I don't know what it is but you can go far with your powers, I will be your number one ally" he hugged her in close with his tail.
"How far?" Inshal asked a little confused.
"That depends, how far are you willing to go? are going to accept the fact that you have to sacrifice thousands for you? are you ready to be as cold and heartless as anything can?" Darkin hugged tighter.
"No" Inshal said.
"No?" Darkin turned to her.
"No I'm not like that" Inshal confirmed.
"You are aware that no-one with the demon blood has ever refused their power, not because they want to but because they can't deny it" Darkin asked in a cold voice.
"Well then I'm just an outsider, it's not like I'm not use to it" Inshal pushed out of his hug.
"Do you really want to be outside of any kinship?" Darkin asked but that one question hit something in her.
"I have my mother" she opposed.
"Anyone else?" he asked.
"..." Inshal didn't know what was right to say.
"Well you have me but who else, I know the rest of my kin will not take you in if you act like you are not one of them" he mentioned.
"I don't need anyone else" Inshal spoke.
"Right I forget that you were raised by angels by what I understand they don't need family only a caretaker but I can see it in you, you crave more kin" it was beginning to annoy Inshal that he could get to her.
"You can't even disagree with it" he chuckled.
"What do you want?" Inshal was having enough.
"For you to not waste your power, if you don't agree with it then use in a way you do" he answered straight up.
"What is it?" Inshal asked.
"I can help find out, well let us practice a few things" he walked of in a direction and Inshal followed.
