Theo arrived at the main living quarters. Everyone looked on as Theo came inside with an aura of confidence as if he owned the place.
The Evergarden family and the Vondhaven family were sat opposite each other. Drinking tea from the small table between them as they comfortably sat in the large and luxurious couches.
Spade sat with King Arthur Evergarden and Queen Javalia Evergarden of the Valhalla Empire.
They all wore their normal clothing except now, Arthur had a luxurious robe on. It truly looked like the king's robe.
On the other side of the table sat the Vondhaven family of the Kyanthis kingdom. Sat in the middle was Zysrial Vondhaven. He was around 40 years old as well but his appearance was much more slender and young. beside him was the queen of the Kyanthis kingdom Karlia Vondhaven. Checking out the palace in the corner of the room were Haiya and Jasmin Vondhaven. They were both around 15, the same age as Theo.
The boy looked to be a bit of a sleaze, he had a snobby look to him. The girl had a long face and a slender body. Her eyes were much smaller compared to the rest of her face. She also looked to be a royal snob who was spoiled from birth.
They all wore a black-themed wardrobe with golden outlining.
Everyone was slightly shocked as they saw Theo walk inside the room. "I-Is that Theodore!? How can he be walking around!?" Karlia sounded both surprised and weirdly angry.
Hearing this tone in her voice, Theo's eyebrows immediately rose in confusion.
"What a miracle! Theodore, you have completely healed!" Zysrial abruptly interrupted his wife and tried to quickly change the topic. He put his hand on his wife's thigh and looked her in the eye with a stern expression before turning back to Theo.
Although the Evergarden family still seemed confused about what was going on, Theo had already caught on.
Before he could do anything about it, the two kids who were the same age as Theo ran over. "Hey! PARA-site! (Paralysed insult) You decided to finally stop being retarded did you!?" The boy laughed.
"Yeah! Now it will be even more fun to bully him haha! Don't cry this time like you always did!" The girl yelled as she laughed.
Those words struck Theo in a way that he did not expect. As the kids continued to insult him over and over again, he was lost in a train of thought.
'Why did Queen Karlia get slightly angry when she saw me walking?? Could the Vondhaven family have crippled me in order to eventually cripple the kingdom of Valhalla? And these kids, they made me cry?' As Theo tried to think, those words kept on intruding his thoughts.
Theo started to become angrier and angrier the more he thought about it, and it soon started to become a prevalent expression on his face.
'I was paralyzed, yet they made me cry? How helpless must I have felt, being bullied, crying, and worst of all, not being able to do anything about it.' Theo knew nothing for certain, but his anger was something that he never had in his past life until his own death. Now, his anger was prominent in who he was.
Seeing the tension rising, Zysrial spoke up.
"Our meeting here was a great success, but I believe it is time for us to go." He said with a very familiar expression that Theo had seen many times before in his past life. A fake smile.
As Zysrial started to leave, his family followed behind him. "Are you sure you want to go so early?" said Javalia. Zysrial only turned around and nodded before continuing to walk.
"Wait..." Theo spoke, his anger arising.
As Zysrial turned towards Theo, he tilted his head up and stared at Zysrial with a vicious look. Zysrial was not phased by the look, but he recognised how big of a threat this kid could be if he had the chance to grow. "Yes Theodore?" Rengar put the same old smiley face up as he awaited Theo's answer.
"Did you not hear your children saying those things to me? Aren't you going to scold them?... Does the Vondhaven family want to be known as a family of no respect?" Those were strong words coming from such a small person. It could send a shiver down the spine of any normal person.
"Ah... well Im sure they didn't mean it." Rengar replied. Theo wasn't satisfied with that answer whatsoever. He knew that it was just an excuse. "Are you sure that's the answer you want to give Zysrial?" Zysrial stopped smiling.
"How dare such a child speak so ignorantly towards his majesty! Calling him by his first name! This is blasphemous!" Yelled Karlia.
"Theodore! Apologize right now! You are being way too inappropriate! These are important people you have never seen before! This is not a good way to meet them!" Theo's mother responded to the situation by trying to make amends, but perhaps she had forgotten how Theo must have felt his entire life.
Theo looked back to his mother.
"Are you just going to let them insult me? And don't act as you know me, you're a stranger to me just as much as them!" To Theo, these words were simply true. He did not know his new mother. But to his mother who knew how Theo was paralyzed his whole life, these words were extremely harmful.
She felt as though he was saying how throughout his entire life, her son had not truly experienced her in any way except for sight. She found a hint of truth in his words.
A flurry of emotions hit her at once, and she left the room crying. Theo however, didn't care. He was fueled by an unimaginable rage. Although he did not know these kids or the past Theo, he instinctively wanted to get vengeance for himself, he swore that he would never let anyone get away with insulting him.
"Blasphemous? Hahaha! What's Blasphemous is you not knowing how to handle your children!" Yelled Theo. Out of nowhere, Theo felt a hard hit on the back of his neck, and soon started to pass out.
'That's enough Theodore' Arthur thought to himself as he lowered his head to the Vondhaven family.
Zysrial looked as though he was contemplating what to do next. After a moment of silence, he turned around and started to leave, followed by his family.
As he got farther away, he lifted his hand up in the air and proposed a waving motion. "See you next time Arthur.." Zysrial said as he left.
After they had all left, Arthur lifted his head and clenched his jaw as he looked down at the unconscious Theo in his arms. Arthur was conflicted between emotions and duty. He loved his son more than anything he could think of, he had cared for him and never lost hope in his recovery, but what Theo had done that day was not acceptable. Although it might have been the right thing to do, if a war does break out between the two kingdoms then many could die and Arthur knew that it was his responsibility to stop that.
"Any spark of ember could erupt the blazing inferno that was sure to create purgatory within Valhalla." He said as he carried Theo into his room.
Arthur didn't want Theo to be the reason to spark such a flame, so he had to do what he had to do in order to make sure that does not happen.
Although he didn't know how Theo's personality was going to be if he was to ever come out of his coma, he never expected such a brash kid. Still, there was nothing he could say. Theo was paralyzed his whole life, do you think he's going to just stay there and let people bully him? Arthur couldn't find a solution to this unending battle in his own brain, so he decided to lock up Theo in his room for the time being until he thought of what to do next.
"I admire your sense of justice Theodore, but I'm afraid that in this cruel world, following the leads of justice only leads to death and misery... trust me, i've tried." Arthur's eyes moistened as he spoke.
He was only speaking out loud to himself, but by this point Theo had already woken up, and had heard everything. Although he did not like what his father did at that moment, he realised that he was too hot-headed, and didn't think of the consequences on his family and others.
Seeing his father, the only one who seemed to truly care for him start to tear up punched a small hole in the heart of Theo. 'Following justice leads to death and misery? He must have gone through a lot...'
