Right before Theo fell onto the floor, everything he could see completely vanished into thin air. Now all he could see was darkness.
He felt tired, as if he had been laying in bed for eternity, he couldn't move a single muscle.
After what felt like hours, a sudden burst of energy spread throughout all of Theo's body. It felt rejuvenating and powerful. Mixed with a burning sensation but also a feeling of complete satisfaction.
With tremendous effort, Theo finally opened his eyes. What greeted his eyes was something he had never seen before. A grand ceiling full of jewels and a magnificent chandelier smack dab in the middle.
With another strive of effort, Theo moved his head and looked around the room. It was glorious all around. Jewels and valuable metals installed in every part of the room and in every piece of furniture.
As he surveyed his surroundings, a person came inside. She had a medieval maids dress on.
When coming in, she didn't look at Theo at all. Instead she did her duties talking to herself.
"I can't believe I have to take care of this waste of breath." She mumbled under her breath. "He was paralysed from birth... why don't they just let him go instead of wasting valuable elixir's on him."
Theo was not stupid. He had already figured out that he had transmigrated into another world. At first he was ecstatic! He had seen this in many novels, but he had never seen one quite like this.
All of his anticipation and excitement completely vanished as he heard what the maid said under her breath.
"All he can do is open his eyes and talk a couple words! How useless can a human be?!" The maid started to show her anger even more, knowing that no one in that room could hear her.
As the maid finished her thoughts, Theo had an epiphany. 'I don't care if I was paralyzed from birth, I will not let this stop me.'
Theo's determination was so strong, that the fact that something was possible had no more meaning.
"Ho- how dare you talk to me in such a way... your nothing but a lowly maid." Theo spoke with a quiet voice, coughing a couple times as he spoke. He wanted to sound like how he thought a prince would sound like to a dishonorable maid in medieval times.
The maid looked at Theo for the first time with a look of horror on her face. "How can you hear me!?" She was absolutely shocked.
She didn't hesitate and immediately ran out of the room to inform someone of what she said seen.
"Hey! ... What the hell's the problem with her. Well, whatever. I suppose since I am determined to win, I need to learn how to walk first."
Theo struggled to get up from his bed the normal way, so instead, he used all of his force to roll out of bed.
Finally, he rolled out of bed and fell on the floor. A couple of cracks could be heard. He gritted his teeth from the pain as he tried to get up.
Theo could use his feet much more effectively than his hands. He slowly dragged his knees below him and pushed himself up from the ground.
He was finally on two feet. He felt very wobbly but It wasn't horrible. On trying to take a step, Theo abruptly fell over. It was not as simple as he thought it was going to be.
After a little while of trying to walk, Theo was on the floor exhausted. As he tried to think of new ways to improve his condition, some people suddenly barged inside.
Firstly came inside an exhausted man, who looked like he was worn out. The man had a large red robe on and a large golden crown on his head. He stood at a height of 6'2 and had a large and sturdy stature, a roughly cut beard, and long gray hair with stripes of black.
Behind him was the maid from before.
The man who looked to be around 40 started to call for Theo as he came inside. "My son! Where is he Klemtoll!?"
The maid spoke. "I don't know sir! He was right on his bed a second ago!" As a moment of silence struck, both could hear the heavy breathing coming from the other side of the bed.
They rushed over to where the breathing could be heard and saw Theo exhausted on the ground.
"My son! How did you get into this state! Who did this to you!?" The man looked behind himself to the maid with a furious look on his face. He was replied with an "I don't know" Face from the maid.
As Theo started to talk, they both looked at him. "I- I was just trying to walk, no one put me in this state."
The man looked surprised. "I- I see..."
For the man and the maid, this was a monumental task that Theo was pursuing and actually doing. He had been paralyzed from the neck down and was deaf his entire life, for him to be trying to walk and hearing just fine was incredible.
"Klemtoll... call the doctor immediately." The man said. The maid quickly ran out of the room to go and inform the doctor. After putting Theo back in bed, who Theo assumed was his father sat next to him.
'I don't have time for this, I need to learn how to walk! That's the first step in my plan.'
Theo's plan. It was something that Theo had thought of as he was in his dark slumber. Theo realized his end goal, freedom. What this meant for him was no liabilities and other burdens stopping him from doing what he wanted.
In his past life, everywhere you looked there were burdens that kept him down, whether it was physical burdens, financial or mental, they were all there. Stopping Theo from being free to do as he pleased.
His entire plan was based on this freedom. He wanted to be free from all burdens, and to do so he first needed to be strong, in fact, he needed to be the strongest!
He knew he had to get strong fast, but he couldn't outpower or outargue his father, so he decided to stay in bed and let this doctor or whatever check up on him. At the very least, this would help him find out what problems he had and maybe get a clue as to how to solve them.
After a couple of minutes, the maid walked inside, and following her was an old man with a cane. The old man had a large and crooked nose and small eyes that were a clear red color. He wore a white robe and walked with two hands behind his back.
"The doctor has arrived your majesty," The maid said as she stepped to the side.
Theo's father made way for the doctor to see Theo.
The doctor walked up to Theo and hovered his hand above Theo's forehead. After about a second, a green glow came from his hand and emanated around Theo.
Theo's eyes widened as his suspicions were proven. He had finally gotten to see magic. Theo was ecstatic. 'This! This is magic! There's no doubt about it! I never thought I'd ever actually get to see magic in my entire lifetime!... although this is not my life. Even so! This is still just as impressive!'
After another couple of seconds, the old man spoke. "My god! I cannot believe this!" On hearing this, Theo expected some good news.
"His seals... are completely intact! He should not be able to walk or use any of his body neck down! How is this possible! Your son is a medical miracle!" On hearing this, Theo's father gained hope.
"Is that so! Then is there a chance for my boy to heal!?" Theo's father questioned.
"Well, I'm afraid I do not have the answer to that question, but for now, know that there is most definitely a possibility, although slim." The doctor replied.
A look of relief came to the face of Theo's father. "I see, thank you, doctor."
"I must go and study any cases of this happening! It was nice meeting you again your majesty!" The doctor said as he walked out of the room.
After the doctor left, Theo's father realized something. Ever since birth, Theo had to be fed blended food and disgusting concoctions of meals to be satiated. He wanted to try and see if, for the first time, Theo could enjoy a real meal.
As he thought of this, Theo had his own plans.
'The doctor did not help much at all. All he blabbered was some gibberish to cheer up my father. Now that he is gone, it is time to start the continuation on my plan to be the strongest creature on the planet!'
As Theo thought of his grand plan, it was all foiled by his father's next words.
"Son! How about you enjoy a meal for the first time in your life!" His father spoke with an excited tone. Although it sounded like a question, it was indeed a demand.
'Arghh! Not again!'
