William Foxtrot is a highschool student from California. He is an otaku who loves playing games and watching anime.
One day, he is just passing by the road in the middle of the night. He have a lot of fun on the monthly meetup with his friends, playing tabletop RPGs.
It has gotten so late, and he didn't have any ride.
So he is waiting for a bus.
Though, as fate would have it, he is unfortunate enough when a drunk driver comes through his way. The drunk driver just fell unconscious, and his hand swerves the wheel to his side.
This causes the car to go straight to him at breakneck speed.
Without being able to understand what is happening, he was hit by the car and smash straight to the lamppost on his side, instantly killing him.
It only gave him a brief burst of pain before he lost consciousness.
Then he wakes up, finding himself in the middle of the plaza sitting on a fountain. Many people of all ages and race were walking around.
There are those who have pointed ears, those who have a short build and large beards, and a lot more. They are someone who are supposed to be impossible to exist.
At first, he is denying it and trying to find a way to explain this. But he became more convinced as he saw his environment.
The night sky have eight moons. Then at daylight, there are large and small planets, with some of them having one or more rings surrounding them outlined on the horizon. People can use magic. Also, there are some floating islands on the sky.
This convinces him that he is in fact, in another world.
He have found a mysterious pouch and a letter for him when he wakes up on the fountain. The pouch contains ten gold coins, and the letter contains a message from him.
The letter's origin is unknown. It only contains a message that asks him to save this world from the impending doom that are approaching outside the human civilization. It seems like this is the last human nation, and the barrier protecting the people here are on it's last leg.
He also learned some common sense in this world, like how this nation is run by a multitude of guilds, and the Royal Palace is the one maintaining all of these guilds.
It seems like it is free to create a guild, so instead of trying to join one, he decided to create his own guild.
That has been a whole week. Getting an ID from the Royal Palace, along with the Guild Permit. Finding a suitable place and buying it with his meager amount of funds. Then setting up the other requirements for a guild member before finally trying to recruit everyone.
On this whole week, he tries to wait for anyone to come to his guild. He can't possibly go outside and do quest for himself. He's just a normal human, and it seems like he didn't have any special powers with him.
"Why am I still here when I can't even do anything!? How can I save this world!?" He grumbled like that under his breath every night when no one comes on his guild.
His main purpose for now is to survive. He needs an income. Though the only income for this world is to become a guild member and take quest from the others.
There are other ways to acquire money, but he didn't have the skills to brew potions, craft weapons, or even farm. He knows he will come short and he won't be able to keep up with the others. Becoming a guild leader is the most viable thing he can do.
He is thankful for the ten gold coins that the mysterious person gave him, but it is not enough to survive for a lifetime. He needs more money before he can think of anything else.
It's been seven days, and no one is coming to his guild to join him. He is alone, and his funds is slowly burning out. If this continues on for a whole month, he will be forced to go out and do quest himself.
Most quest involves fighting monsters that roams on uninhabited areas. He didn't want to try that at all if he can help it.
"Ugh, I really hope someone comes here and joins me...." He mutters.
Just as he was going to sigh, he turns his glance on the side and is surprised to see a new door there. The door is just a simple wooden door without any decorations.
It is surprising. He is sure that it is not there when he is staying here. There is only one door on this guild which is the entrance door. So having another door is a suspicious thing.
"What's this?" He asked to no one as he gets closer to it.
Opening it, he only saw the wall behind it. This causes him to look in confusion, not knowing what is happening.
"What the hell? What's the use of this door if there is only a wall behind it?" He asked with an incredulous look.
Just when he is going to turn his back, the door opens without his prompt, causing him to jump in surprise. Looking behind, he saw the door slowly opening and revealing a person behind.
Instead of the wall, it is now showing an ethereal image of a room behind the door. The person emerging from it is a cute girl.
The girl have wolf-like ears and greyish hair. She is wearing something like a school uniform, and a scarf. Strapped behind her is something like a gun.
The person behind is familiar, like he have seen her before. The girl just looking at him with a curious expression.
'Wait... isn't this Monokami Kiryo!?'
That's the name of the person behind the door. Which is weird because, as far as he remembers, she is just a game character. Specifically, a game about a world where magical girls with guns lives in a city full of schools.
Unlike the 2D version though, this one is real and in the flesh. She looks so beautiful that he can honestly say that the 2D art for her seems to be underestimating her appearance.
Her sky blue eyes is directed on his own brownish eyes, her expression neutral with a hint of confusion.
"Hm? Where is this? I don't recall having a room like this.... also, who are you?" Kiryo asked, her voice the familiar calm one that he always hears on his game.
'Are you serious!?' He thought in a panic, finally registering that, the character herself is indeed the real one and is in front of him.
This is the start of his life on this world. The first event that will be his first step to become the strongest guild in this whole world.
