Chapter 6 - Selling Monster Materials

It took them until the sky turning orange when they finally decided to go back. The supply box carried by the drone is filled to the brim with monster parts and magical cores.

As they got back to the city, they weren't stopped by the one guarding the gate and just let them be. The people of this city are used to people having something weird along with them. So seeing the two drones tailing them are not that surprising, only strange to their eyes.

The two of them are quick to go to the commercial district. The place is a bit far so they have to walk for a few minutes before they can get there.

While they are walking on the street, the two girls decided to talk to each other.

"I am curious. Why did you join William-sama's guild?" Kiryo asked.

"To help him."

Kiryo quickly turns to her, her eyes widened for a bit.

"That's all?"

"Yes. Do I need any reason?" Elio replied with a shrug.

Elio really can't see anything strange with that. She is one of the heroes chosen by the Heromaker. As a chosen hero, it is natural to help everyone that ask for it. Defeating every evil forces and helping the people are the sole purpose of the heroes after all.

This type of principle is strange for Kiryo. She can't understand something as simple as that. There is no such thing as a simple purpose.

"What about you? Is there any reason for your help other than that?" Elio asked as she pointed a narrowed stare at her way.

Kiryo put her attention back on the streets as she answers her. "Sensei requested it of me. This operation is of utmost importance to my city, and I am the only one who can enter the door. Only I can do the operation."

'Originally, I wanted to join him because it is voluntary and not obligatory. Who would have thought that his door can specify who can enter and who can't.' Kiryo thought.

It should be a way to pass the time and make some extra cash along the way. Now it is an important operation that can give many benefits to her city.

"So it is an order by your ruler? Then I think that's reasonable...." Elio said with an approving nod.

Then the two of them are silent once more as they pass through more people and turn a corner on the streets. While they are silent, William has overheard what they are talking about and have gone into his contemplation.

Kiryo's role here is to acquire a lot of info of this world and return some samples along the way. It is obvious by the way she is requesting for some of the things they got from the monster.

Elio is a lot more complicated. He can't understand her motivation.

He knows the Heromaker. It's literally the faceless MC that the player uses. A poor excuse so the game can start and the player can acquire characters from the Tavern.

But her motivation is too simple. There is nothing else in there than being a hero.

'Are every characters on Spiritverse this flat?' He thought in concern.

It took awhile before they finally arrived at one of the shops that buys monster materials.

They entered the shop, and quickly go to the desk to talk to the owner.

"Welcome, what can I do for you!" The owner, someone with a balding hair and some wrinkles on his face, greeted them in a good natured way.

"We'd like to sell some monster parts." Kiryo simply stated.

"Of course. Please just put the stuff on the table."

He led them to the large table besides the counter, a bit distant to the shelves of products that he is selling. Kiryo gestured for the drone to get closer and William moves it using the digital controllers.

"Oh! What is that?" The balding guy asked in wonder, his eyes fixated on the flying machinery.

"It's our supply box." As she answers him, the box has been carefully put on the floor by the grip of the drone before she moves to it and open it with practiced ease.

Within are a bunch of wrapped items containing different monster parts and magical cores.

She takes the wrapped objects one by one and put it on the table neatly before stopping after one of each of the things they got as a loot are remaining. She closes it with the tarpaulin and ask for William to carry it with the drone once more.

While doing that, the owner looks through the transparent sealed wrapper and is shocked at the quality of the things within.

"These transparent sheets are amazing. How can it preserved the monster parts like this?" He asked, though seeing the girls just staring at him, he decided to move on to the important topic. "Ahem. I will buy all of this with 150 silver coins. What do you think?"

The two are already aware of the values of this world. Kiryo have thoroughly asked William about it before they leave the place after all. It is an important info that she needs if she is going to operate on this world.

A hundred and fifty silver coins is equivalent to one and half gold coin. A gold coin is enough to buy a small house the same as the one that William is using as his guild base. So it's already a huge sum of money.

Which is confusing because they only got small magical orbs from goblins and occassional large spiders within the forest. Half a kilogram of spider silk might cost a silver coin, but it is still not enough to acquire that much.

"I included those transparent sheets that you used as containers. Those are amazing products. I am sure it can be used to preserve other things!" The owner stated his reasons.

Kiryo felt satisfied with the answer. These sealed wrappers are specially created by the Engineering Club, which is one of the factions of the school. These sealed wrappers are insulated, have the same capability as a memory foam, and is liquid proof. It is mass produced, so most people from the School City uses it for many things.

"I see... then, would you like more of it?" Kiryo asked as she takes a large roll of it inside her bag and let him see it.

"Oh! It'll be my pleasure!"

With that, he paid another one hundred silver coins just for that roll of sealed wrapper. They got a total of 250 silver coins in this trip alone.

"Thank you for your patronage, I'll be waiting for your visit again!" The balding owner waved his hand enthusiastically as they left the premises of the shop.

With that, they came back to the guild.

~~o~~

When they came back, they first take care of the distribution of money. Being very thankful for them, he let the two decide how to split the 150 silver coins while he stored the remaining 100 silver coins into his room.

He is glad that the two didn't keep it all to themselves. He have no capability to resist them so he is just hoping for them to honor their promise.

"It is time for me to come back. Thank you for your cooperation."

"It's nothing. Your helping the guild so that much is fine."

Kiryo nodded before going to the table to sit and face the laptop. She inserted a USB drive that she takes from her bag and put all the live feeds that it got from the many drones put in this room.

William just let her be. It is her stuff, and while she ask for him to let it stay here, he didn't really want to meddle with the equipments and technologies that she puts here. He didn't want to offend the higher executives from the School City.

After she is done, she takes the USB out and put it in her bag. Then she holds the supply box containing the remaining monster parts and monster core that they haven't sold and opens the mysterious door. She goes behind the door before it slowly closes.

Now, only Elio and him are remaining here.

"... Aren't you going to come back?" He asked as he saw her just sitting on the table.

"Don't you need anything else? I can do it."

"No. I don't have anything for now. You can go back tomorrow and hunt monsters. It can help with the funds of this guild." He told her.

"I see. Then I'll come back tomorrow!" Elio said with a shrug before hopping out of the chair.

Then she also left after awhile.

Now only him remains on the guild. Just when he noticed that, he felt his stomach grumbling.

"Right. I should eat something first. I have the spare money anyway."

This might look shameless, but it is a money made from his guild members so he is going to use it without any hesitation. He needs to eat after all!

With that, the day ended with him eating and tidying up his guild house for a bit before sleeping.
