Lizeth came home and happily told her bedridden dad about her day. His dad looked surprised and happy when she said to him that his company had given her work. She could even see his eyes sparkled when she talked about how good her lady boss had treated her.
Her dad got trauma on his head and got half-body paralysis. He could only mumble but couldn't speak and move.
The first day of work for Lizeth wasn't the best nor the worst. However, she was still excited to go back there and face another challenge tomorrow. Having actual work, whatever kind it is, made her feel mature and confident.
As if she wasn't tired at all and still able to drop by the market and cook for their dinner. She had to be challenged rather than being disappointed.
"I think next school year, you have to attend classes in different schedules. So you can take shifts in watching over dad," Lizeth said while she and the twins were eating their dinner.
"Well, thank God, I won't be in the same class as Lander finally," Leslie muttered.
Lander frowned and remarked. "Then, enroll me for the afternoon classes. At least I don't need to wake up early."
"Lander, you still need to wake up early because you have to take care of dad," Lizeth replied.
"Ugh, why does it have to happen? We were struggling when dad was still fine. How much more now? How can we survive?" Lander dropped his utensils and shook his head in disappointment.
"Lander, we can survive, and we will be fine. Don't you know that I already got a job?" Lizeth happily announced.
"What? Really? What work? You are still so young and didn't know anything? OMG, big sis, are you trying to work as a hooker?" Leslie gasped with her thoughts.
Lizeth only laughed at her. "No! I'm working in production, the same company as a dad. They offered me work there," Lizeth said.
"Really? But do you know how to do the work, though?" Leslie asked worriedly.
"Don't worry, sissy, I will manage it. They will teach me anyway."

As usual, Lizeth arrived early at work. She had always been punctual as a student, and that didn't change even at work. She believed if she could achieve things at school, there would be no way that she couldn't do it at work.
She has to put the same effort into learning as she had in school. She may be just an average learner, but she was always a diligent and responsible student.
Lizeth spotted the lady who was supposed to train her. She approached her, smiling.
"Good morning, miss!" She greeted me with full enthusiasm as she wanted to start that day right.
However, the lady rolled her eyes and said, "It's not time for me to work yet. I haven't even had my breakfast yet."
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean…." Lizeth apologized, but the lady put her words to a halt.
"Whatever," The Lady walked dashed off to the canteen.
"I'm sorry for that, that's Rana. She is always in a bad mood, especially before breakfast," the girl approached her and giggled with her own words.
"I see," Lizeth giggled as well.
"By the way, I'm Dia. I am also a sewer here. Is your dad okay?" she asked.
Dia seemed to be in her early twenties. She looked like someone easy to get along with, and she was tall and slim. Herr's long legs were eye-catching. With her friendly demeanor, she got a feeling that she would soon be her best friend.
"Oh, you know my dad. Well, he's not as okay as before. But, he is better."
"Yes, all of us know that you are Mr. Luis' daughter. Btw, I'm sorry for what happened to him. I think you don't have to worry much about anything here. Your dad is our lady boss' favorite employer, and it seems you too will be her next favorite." Dia leaned closer to Lizeth like she was about to spill some tea.
"Huh?" Lizeth asked, not getting what Dia exactly meant.
"Yesterday, you talked inside the entire production. It seemed that many envied you for being too close to Mrs. Callen's."
"I think she's naturally a good boss," Lizeth remarked.
"Uh-uh, not to everyone. But her husband is the worst. You can never hear a single voice in the production area every time he roamed around the area. You never even see a single head moving. It felt like just a single wrong move can take you out of your job in just a second." Dia was literally whispering when she said that.
Lizeth only nodded. That moment on, she had realized that she was in a truly different world. She would never have that kind of risk at school. It seemed that she was already at an actual next level in her life.
If she believed she was a focused student and serious at school before, this time, Lizeth knew she had to double the effort. She couldn't allow herself to be kicked out from that company; it was the only hope her family had.
Not long, the bell rang, indicating that the working hours had started. Even though Yvonne has some aggravating words while instructing Lizeth, she made sure to hold tight on her patience.
She knew it made her uncomfortable. However, she was also aware that she had to get over that and that it was normal. She also had to think that it wouldn't always be like that forever. Besides, a strict trainer would always make the best trainee.
At lunchtime, she ate with Dia and one of her friends Petal. Just like Dia, Lizeth had been able to go well with Petal, she was also easy to get along with, and she has this cute face and pretty lashes, a total eye-catcher.
She seemed the same age as Dia, and being with them made Lizeth like working more. They made them feel at home in that place. She felt so blessed to meet these two girls.
They were just in their ordinary conversation when she noticed other workers staring at them. Lizeth felt a little discomfort with their stares. She wanted to tell the girls what she noticed, but Dia and Petal were so busy talking and giggling that she saw them staring over a guy.
The guy was wearing an overall uniform just like his father had, so Lizeth assumed he was working in a maintenance department. He wasn't wearing his whole bodysuit in full but he only tied the upper part on his waist and got a white shirt on top.
While his overall pants were greasy, his white t-shirt seemed to be spotless. Even with his messy work, he looked neat.
