RINGGGG!
Almost everyone inside the factory rose abruptly from their seats as if they were getting ready for a race, and were just waiting for the bell to ring and then go. However, not Lizeth., she felt like she didn't want to leave her machine yet.
It seemed as if eight hours wasn't ample enough to learn sewing fast. Lizeth wanted to continue practicing at home, if only they got their own machine at home.
She remembered her mom got one. However, when her mom died, his father sold the machine.
Latterly, Lizeth heard two sets of footsteps coming excitedly towards her area.
"Hey, why aren't you ready yet?" Petals said.
"Ready for what? Ready to go home?" Lizeth replied while she still checked her result over the piece of cloth in her hand.
"Home? Haven't you told her the plan?" Petal creased her eyebrow as she looked over Dia.
"Oh, I haven't got a chance. I was in a hurry with my production quota and had never taken a pee break since after lunch." Dia explained.
"Whatever, but get up from there, girl. You won't be coming home early today. We need to go somewhere." Petal winked and grinned excitedly.
"Uhm... I'm not sure…." Lizeth was about to explain. She knew she had to head home as soon as she got out of work. Lizeth still needs to take care of her family. She knew her siblings would already cook for themselves, but she planned to head to the grocery.
"No, but please. This will be our first bonding as friends. Besides, it's the weekend. You will be spending your entire day tomorrow, probably doing chores inside your home."
Her friends were already aware of her story. Almost everyone is inside that company.
'She is right,' Lizeth had thought. It had been a long since she went out with friends. The last time was her graduation day. Lizeth smiled as a memory hit her mind about what happened that day and who she met, especially about hunky daddy.
How could she forget him? But then she frowned. She knew she would never meet him again and wondered who he indeed was.
"Okay fine, I'll go with you guys, but promised me that we will be already at our own house at eight PM," Lizeth stood up after cleaning up her machine.
"Whatever, girl, but Yay!" Petal hopped excitedly.
***
Ella was amazed by the place her friends took her. She never thought her new friends would like to hang out on the bayside.
However, it wasn't just an ordinary bayside. Lizeth could hear some upbeat songs played in one corner of that bay line. It seemed like there was a band playing.
"Is this a resto-bar beside the bay?" Lezith, gaped in amazement. The entire theme gave her some boho feel. The colorful flags torches were placed in line with the water edges. It gave her the sense of cool summer nights she saw in movies.
It was the place where people mainly took romantic scenes. Where a broken-hearted boy would meet another broken-hearted girl trying to be alone but then bumped at each other and fell in love.
Lizeth was a sucker for romance stories. She was a daydreamer. It was even part of her life to wish for a perfect romantic relationship with an ideal guy.
However, that wasn't the case for her right now, she was with her friends to hang out and not with a date.
Lizeth noticed her friend having a giraffe neck and seemed to be looking for someone.
"They seemed aren't here yet," Dia said.
"Wait, who's not here? Who's coming?"Lizeth asked wondering, she thought it would be just them. She wasn't expecting that there were more.
Part of her was excited; however, some part of her was also worried. What if a bunch of their friends were coming and since she hasn't known them yet, it might put her into an awkward place.
She had tried being an outcast at school. She didn't want that to happen even at work.
"Petal will be meeting her boyfriend here. Since she can't even talk to him at the factory." Dia whispered, while Petal hadn't noticed them and was busily gandering over the crowd, looking for someone.
"Factory? You mean he was one of our co-workers?" Lizeth asked, and Dia nodded. However, she wondered why they couldn't even speak with each other inside the company. "Are you saying that relationships were not allowed inside the company?"
"Not exactly, just their relationship," Dia said.
It made Lizeth wonder more, and she was even curious why and who her boyfriend was.
Two people approached their table not long after, and Lizeth had already seen one of them. He was indeed one of their co-workers, Nil.
Her friends introduced her to them, and it turned out that it was Nil, who was Petal's boyfriend, when Petal instantly kissed Nil on the lips the moment they sat beside each other.
"Ugh, get a room, guys," Nil's friend Jonas commented while he sat beside Lizeth.
The couples seemed to didn't bother with what Jonas said. They appeared to be starving for each other's caresses. Lizeth hasn't seen two people that intense for each other. She thought she could only happen in a movie.
Nevertheless, it didn't take long for Lizeth to get her answers. Why? when Dia commented.
"Yeah, you better get a real room if you don't want your relationship to cut short. Someone might see you here in public and tell your wife."
"Okay, fine, excuse us guys," Nil pulled Petal, and they both walked away smiling?
"Wife?" Lizeth had finally expressed her reaction.
"Yes, Nil was married to our bosses' daughter." Dia spilled the tea and made Lizeth more agape.
That must be why they couldn't even talk with each other inside the company and had to hide their relationship. Lizeth shook her head. She didn't understand her new friend. How could she be engaged in a relationship like that? Sure Nil is gorgeous too, but it was not appropriate.
Petal was a pretty lady. She could indeed find someone better. She didn't understand why she had to stick with Nil. Why did she have to stick with a married man?
Lizeth felt a bit disgusted about her friend. She knew it wasn't right to judge her, but Lizeth thought that she would never do something like that. She would never break a family.
