"Let's play truth and dare," Xin replied without even bothering to open his eyes, "But I'll definitely ask you to reveal your feelings for Zhou Xinyi and you can't lie about it."
"..." Wang GuiYing pursed his lips into a thin line and nodded his head as he spoke, "Let's not play truth and dare."
A small smirk formed on Xin's face as he heard this but it was hardly noticeable.
Wang GuiYing exaggeratedly sighed and rested his chin on his cupped hands as he whined, "I'm getting bored~"
"Then go beat some monsters."
"I'm a healer."
"Then go heal some monsters."
"..."
Wang GuiYing didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry.
Did this man just... Tell a joke...?
He was capable of joking?!
Wang GuiYing leaned in closer as he spoke, "Xinie~ You're full of surprises, aren't you?"
Xin's muscles tensed up as he saw this reaction.
"Why don't you talk a bit about yourself? Hmm?" Wang GuiYing tried to act cute as he looked at the man with his eyes wide open, twinkling with delight.
"My name is Xin and I'm currently waiting for the monster meat to be cooked."
Wang GuiYing chuckled as he commented, "You're so lame at joking."
"And yet, you're laughing," Xin side-glanced at Wang GuiYing as he replied.
Wang GuiYing chuckled once again as he nodded his head, "I am laughing but at you not at your joke."
Xin pouted and for some reason, Wang GuiYing felt that the man looked absolutely adorable while pouting.
"But no worries~" Wang GuiYing waved his hands in front of his face as he spoke, "You are still better than Zhou Xinyi."
"..." For some reason, the man looked to be even more offended.
"Zhou Xinyi can't tell a joke even if his life depended on it! Hahaha!" Wang GuiYing laughed as he made fun of his missing best friend without even noticing the expression on Xin's face, "He's a really stuck up man. Even in school, he was the most boring kid. He had no sense of humor. Even when I teased him and made fun of him, he would always stay oblivious."
Xin sighed as he glared at Wang GuiYing and before Wang GuiYing could continue on bad-mouthing Zhou Xinyi, Xin grabbed his hands and pulled the man closer.
Wang GuiYing was completely caught off guard and ended up bumping against the man's chest.
Xin was successful in shutting the man up.
With his ears blushing red, Wang GuiYing gulped as he looked up at Xin's face that was just a few inches away from his own.
"Wang GuiYing... Are you sure you're not in love with that 'boring' friend of yours? 'Cause, you sure do sound like you're obsessed with him."
Wang GuiYing blinked, not because he was caught off guard by the question nor because he didn't know how to answer it, but because he hadn't heard the question at all! He was too busy staring at the man's face!
'This Xin... Is truly handsome!' With no hesitation, Wang GuiYing admitted in his mind and he wasn't exactly wrong.
Xin truly was one of those men whose face would catch your attention even on a subway. He was the type to make heads turn and once you had seen him, it would be hard to forget him.
Since he looked like Zhou Xinyi, it was only natural that Zhou Xinyi also belonged to that same type of unforgettable man.
Wang GuiYing had been friends with Zhou Xinyi for almost all his life and he had already gotten used to that face, but perhaps because it had been four years since he had seen the man... Now that he saw someone who looked like him, he couldn't help but wonder just how he had been able to get used to that face.
Xin frowned as he noticed that Wang GuiYing was once again lost in his thoughts so he flicked the man's forehead as he spoke, "Don't ignore me."
"Aw~" Wang GuiYing rubbed his forehead and whined as he woke up from his daze.
"The meat is cooked," Xin informed and it was only now that Wang GuiYing had noticed the delicious smell that wafted in the air.
Wang GuiYing looked down at the cooked meat and gulped back down his saliva.
He wanted to be the one to take the bite but because there was a risk of it being poisonous, he needed to let Xin have a taste.
Xin took a piece and bit into it with a blank expression on his face. He closed his eyes and slowly chewed on the meat before gulping it down. His face didn't express his feelings and he also didn't bother saying anything.
Wang GuiYing's stomach growled and he looked at Xin with his mouth slightly open, ready to drool.
Xin picked up another piece and slowly started chewing it. Once again, there was no change in expression.
When he took the third piece, Wang GuiYing couldn't help but ask, "Is it poisonous?"
"We'll have to wait to see its effects," Xin replied.
He took a few more bites and Wang GuiYing once again asked, "Why are you eating more? What if it is poisonous?"
"If I consume more, the poison would show its effects sooner."
"Oh..." Wang GuiYing nodded his head in understanding, thinking that what the man had said clearly made sense when in reality, Xin was simply spouting nonsense from the top of his head.
Ten minutes passed and half of the meat had already been eaten by Xin but there were still no effects of the poison discovered.
"Are you sure it's poisonous?" Wang GuiYing asked, not being able to handle his hunger anymore.
"I don't know," Xin gave a simple response.
Wang GuiYing frowned as he heard this and looked at the meat with hungry eyes.
A few more minutes passed and almost all the meat was already gone. Wang GuiYing could no longer be patient and hence, without saying anything, he grabbed a piece of the meat and stuffed it inside his mouth.
His eyes widened and he felt speechless.
This meat... It was the best meat that he had ever tasted!!!
It was tender and juicy! Full of flavor and fragrance!
As soon as he took a bite, he couldn't help but moan in delight.
When he had gulped the meat down, he snapped his head towards Xin and glared at the man, feeling a little wronged to have been played like that.
Xin, on the other hand, tried his best not to laugh.
"You evil man!" Wang GuiYing accused the man and immediately started gobbling up the leftover meat.
Xin grabbed his stomach and although he had tried his best not to laugh, he simply could not help it anymore.
He laughed and fell back, hitting his back on the ground.
"Serves you right," Xin commented in between his laughter, "You called me boring, didn't you?"
"..."
If eyes could kill, Xin would have already been six feet under.
In just a few minutes, Wang GuiYing had already finished eating all the leftover pieces and his stomach was also quite satisfied with the delicious meal.
With a glad smile on his face, he also lied down on his back with his head resting on his arm.
The two stayed in that position, next to each other, staring at the sky.
Neither of them said anything and Xin had also stopped laughing by now.
There was a smile on their faces and for some reason, the atmosphere around felt quite warm and cozy.
For the first time in so long, Wang GuiYing felt calm and relaxed.
He turned to look at Xin and his smile looked to have deepened.
He didn't say anything and he didn't bother taking his eyes off of the man either. He simply kept staring at the man's face with a warm smile on his face.
After a few minutes, Xin sighed as he turned his head towards Wang GuiYing and spoke, "There you go again. Looking at me like that."
Wang GuiYing didn't say anything as a response. Neither accepting nor denying it.
"Wang GuiYing, just who in the hell is Zhou Xinyi to you?" Xin asked with an expression that was a bit too hard to read.
"A precious friend," Wang GuiYing responded without hesitating for even a second.
Xin's lips curled down into a small frown that could hardly be detected.
"Then what about me?" Xin asked with a sigh, "Who am I to you?"
"A talented player who reminds me of my precious friend."
Xin didn't know if he was supposed to be glad or disappointed by such a blunt response.
Xin closed his eyes and stayed silent for a minute or so. Just when Wang GuiYing thought the man had fallen asleep, Xin opened his eyes and directly looked into Wang GuiYing's eyes as he confessed, "For me, you're precious as well."
Wang GuiYing chuckled as he pointed out, "We've just met today. If you're gonna lie, at least make it believable."
"But I'm not lying," Xin responded firmly and Wang GuiYing could no longer laugh it off.
