"Parry, duck... duck!" A female shouted for Xin to duck but he literally forgot. Xin was having a swordsmanship lesson with his private teacher, Miss Kim. He's trying his best to learn how to fight with swords before he takes the Heroic College exam.
"What is wrong with you again." Miss Kim asked disappointedly.
"I'm sorry, let's go again." Xin Said. To be selected as a student of the heroic college, one must pass the exams and show a true courage of a Hero.
It has just been two years ago since the grand war between Humans and Gayas ended. But, there are signs that another war, far greater than the first one will occur soon. So, everyone is preparing for this great war. The Superheroes, nicknamed The Strange, can not be there for everyone.
In the last war, the Gayas were caught by surprise as they didn't know that there are stronger humans around, but it is very sure that this war will be a great one. That's why everyone is getting prepared.
The heroic college is a school created by the Strange and everyone is required to attend only if they pass the entry exams. The exam consists of pure swordsmanship and if you could successfully defeat your assigned opponent, then it means that you have passed the exam.
Xin was living with his grandma and so he requested for his grandma to help him with a swordsmanship teacher that will teach him more about swords. His grandma, knowing how much Xin loved fighting, willingly helped him with his request and Miss Kim was the name of the teacher.
Their lesson is held everyday by evening time. But, despite the lesson Xin had, he still didn't feel pleased with the swordsmanship the woman was teaching him. He recalled how one of the Strange Superheroes of the comic he read, swung his sword.
' If only I could do that.' Xin Thought as he swung the sword downwards and miss Kim, who had expected him to parry her attacks but saw him doing another thing, got frustrated.
She picked her bag and head outside towards her car. But before she could enter, Xin's grandma met with her and she inquired why she was leaving so fast. Miss Kim explained that her grandson wasn't concentrating and she got a lot of things to do in her house. Xin's grandma was annoyed as he heard this but she planned to beg Miss Kim before leaving to see Xin. But before she could say anything else, miss Kim had already drove out of the place.
"What a.. Why did she.." Xin's grandma, madam Tera went into the training room to address Xin about the swordsmanship matter. She asked why Xin wasn't concentrating on the lesson but All Xin Said was that miss Kim was a quack teacher but madam Tera didn't believe him.
"Don't worry grandma, I'll pass the exam. But I'm not allowing that quack teacher to teach me anymore." Xin Said.
"Well then, suit yourself." grandma said and they exited the training room.
Before madam Tera could enter her room, she stared at Xin's back.
' You remind me of your father. I recall him refusing to learn from every swordsmanship teacher that comes his way. I didn't know how, but he was the most skillful swordsman soldier that ever existed in their time. I guess I should leave you alone for now, Xin.' Mama Tera thought.
As Xin entered his room, he opened a book that his father gave him before he left for a mission. The wordings of the book were unclear and despite his attempt on searching for different translating device, none of it worked. But, there are some drawings in the book that Xin can recognize, at least a little.
One of the example of this drawings is the drawing of a fly that had a pair of blue wings and from its look, one can see that the fly is a strong one.
Xin searched for the description of such a fly and came up with a Soldier fly.
"A soldier fly.." Xin Said as he turned the pages of the book. "But who is this man holding a sword. He looks like some sort of superhero."
He exited his room with the book in his hands and head into his father's private room. He shut the door behind and went towards a book shelf. He searched the shelf for a book relating to a soldier fly.
All the books he has been seeing were all about wars and planet. But then, he came across a book titled REI and another book titled DLOS. It seemed strange to Xin. Both books have the same colour and when Xin took out the books, he saw that they were pairs of each other. He took both books and joined it together and suddenly, a bright light shone in the room almost blinding Xin.
But when the light went down, Xin saw something giant in front of him. It was like a giant bee and its wings that were flapping together were making a little noise. Xin was on the floor shocked at what he was seeing.
"Is.. this the soldier fly?" Xin Said and the fly started moving towards him. The fly was big, bigger than any normal fly. It is at the same height as a baby.
Immediately, the fly became smaller in size and the next thing, it entered Xin's ear. Upon entering Xin's ear, he passed out on the ground.
Some minutes later, Xin woke up. He stood up from the ground and he started recalling all what had happened.
"Where is the fly?" he said, searching around the room before realizing that it entered his ear before he passed out.
He tried his best to remove or shake off the fly but it was all impossible, and he had no other option but to give up.
But, Xin noticed something, his body, his senses they have improved and he also felt stronger.
"Wait, did I just get taller." Xin said observing himself. But something caught his attention, the book that his father gave him was glowing brightly.
He moved towards the book that was on the table and before he could even touch it, the book started shaking vividly as if it had a reaction to his presence and surprisingly, each pages were turning by itself, until it reached the last page and the book was closed, without anyone you touching it.
Xin proceeded as he picked up the book that was on the table and as he had the book in his hands, he heard something talking.
< Activating System >
Immediately, the book disappeared from his hands.
