Chereads / Alpha's Mine: Sweet Young Miss is Gone / Chapter 2 - 2. So beautiful

Chapter 2 - 2. So beautiful

Mei continued to walk down the block for a good fifteen minutes before she reached her destination.

In front of her stood the entrance of a train station or more likely a tunnel that led to the other side because the actual of the train station was more to her left. No matter, Mei walked on while a few other students who happened to walk the same direction as her rushed past her all the while shrinking their bodies and making as little noise as possible.

Mei let out a scoff as she walked past the metro entries that were on the left of her and just walked out the other end of the tunnel. By the time she made it through the lollipop had finished and she was left with just the stick. Feeling the emptiness within her mouth. Mei let out a slight frown.

Walking towards the corner of the block towards her right with much familiarity Mei took out the empty lollipop stick from her mouth and dumped it into the trash can as she walked past with much accuracy. She leisurely grabbed the water bottle that was at the side of her backpack and paused to take few sips of the cool water before closing the cap and putting it back where it came from.

When she glanced up, Mei spotted a figure sitting down on a little chair like bock with his head down. Mei recognized the figure and walked up, She stopped a few steps away from the figure and a slight hint of hesitation could be seen in her actions. She didn't want to get close to the man.

The slight frown of her lips deepened some more as she walked up to the man. The cold autumn breeze blew in the air as she walked over. The man who was dressed poorly for the upcoming cold night shivered slightly under the guidance of the cold breeze but his face showed no signs of coldness.

Mei casually walked over to the man and stopped in front of him. "Do you any need help, sir?"

The man looked up. His weary eyes sized her up and down before letting out a grunt in response. He seemed to recall some information when he gave her another quick look before opening his mouth to let out a response. "Money."

His tone was not that of a homeless man nor was it of one who was in need of money. Mei herself knew that hence she didn't bother. Taking out a $50 bill from her pockets she passed it to the old man. The man gladly accepted the money and put away the bill inside the pockets of his heavily worn down black jacket. At least what remained of it.

Mei waited at the side watching the man's actions. A few seconds later, the man rendered up a crumpled piece of paper from one of his pockets before handing it over to her. "Corner convenience store. "

Mei gladly took the paper and walked away after muttering a little thanks for the man.

Mei walked back towards the subway tunnel that she had just crossed and went to the other side. Across the street from the station was a convenience store. According to the man who gave her the paper, this place should have 'what' she was looking for. Perhaps the 'person' she was looking for rather than a 'what.'

While crossing the street that barely had any cars, Mei opened up the crumpled piece of paper. She felt a sudden pang of nausea hit her as she held the paper. Not caring for what was to happen, Mei decided that this was for the best hence she quickly opened up the paper and read the note.

Once she was done she ripped it into a few pieces and dumped them into the trash can situated right at the edge of the block on the side of the convenience store.

Adjusting the strap of her backpack, Mei pushed the doors open and walked into the store. With a unknown familiarity she walked into the back of the store all the while roughly checking out the items put on display.

Mei felt a hint of annoyance when she realized how hard it was to find that item...

The only place she had seen it was in the secluded city found near the borders of Zeclus country. The city that was named Yago after Yamin, the founder of the small city, was the only place she had seen the production of the item.

Right now Mei was thousands of miles away from there. Was it really possible to find that item?

Mei walked all around the shop briskly while searching for the item. Her steps her steady and fast moreover her actions were also very decisive as she made way towards the back of the shop.

While she was there glancing around she spotted something that caught her attention. An seemingly brown box used to deliveries. It was a two feet wide and roughly seven feet tall judging by how Mei had to crane her neck to see the top.

There was multiple packaging labels covering the big box. All the labels were rather eye catching.

Cola-Lola

Merry the Musketeer

Twixters

Smicks

The bright and bold words of the labels were all eye-catching. However, what caught Mei's attention was not the many candy and soda labels but rather the little flap.

It was a carved out rectangle almost like a door...

Mei walked up to the box and lightly touched the outside of the box. Getting close to it she very smoothly took a sniff. Her eyes went wide in surprise when she caught a whiff of what she was looking for.

Mei took her head back and looked around before lightly knocking on the box in a pattern or rather a secret code that was meant for her and the person who should be situated inside the box.

Knock knock

Two soft knocks responded back to Mei's own and a gentle smile formed on her lips. It was as though the winter snow had melted and the spring flowers have bloomed. The two students who entered the shop chatting away with each other stopped in their tracks and stared at Mei, mesmerized.

Invisible flowers in full bloom seemed to surround Mei, who was known to be the laziest, coldest and the most smartest bad*ss in the whole of Marlboro High School.

A thought ran through the minds of the two students who have seen Mei's unexpected smile.

'So beautiful.'
