With a black mask, baseball cap, oversized hoodie and matching black sweats, her client walked over towards her with his head down. His steps were fast and concise but not so hurried or flustered hence despite his appearance dressed all black no one seemed to find him suspicious.
His waist bag that he had on before was nowhere to be seen as he walked up to her. Mei, who already knew that the bag was inside the black hoodie hidden under the excess clothing that surround him, glanced at him for a while as he walked over towards her.
Since she knew he was coming over she cooly hopped onto the motorcycle and inserted the key in.
By the time she had the engine all turned on, her client had already reached. Without wasting time Mei looked at him and put helmet back on and flicked the glass portion down as she lifted one foot onto the pedal. Turning her head to face the front, Mei commanded her client who was only two feet away from her.
"Get on."
Her client didn't seem to mind her commanding voice nor her cold gestures as he knew how crucial her help was towards his safety. Hence without hesitation he walked up and gracefully hopped onto the bike. When Mei felt the motorbike bounce under his weight she merely said a word of caution. "Hold on tight."
Giving him less than three seconds to follow her command Mei let the engine roar before accelerating out of the parking lot and making a long curve into the main highway. Her client in the back had his eyebrows furrowed close and his eyes squinted shut as she grabbed the handle at the back of the motorbike as though his life depended on it.
Technically speaking it did.
If he didn't hold on properly, the strong wind would have him flying at least 20 meters backwards before landing roughly into the cement road or even under a car. The end results would most likely be something close to death. So, his hard grip on the motorbike was really not uncalled for.
The man wanted to speak out to Mei and tell her to slow down a little but he couldn't bring himself to say any such words.
After thirty minutes of such reckless driving at least according to Mei's client, Mei finally reached close to her destination. She had reached her exit and slowed down to make the turn into the main roads and out of the highway.
A few other cars followed behind, seemingly going into the same direction. Mei didn't bother with those cars as she started driving towards the hotel.
As a special agent under the care of the National Security Bureau of Casnus, Mei obviously couldn't take a straight path towards her destination hence she took a few detours around the area when she realized a tail behind her.
For the first time since they were riding, Mei spoke up. "Looks like your friends are very eager to meet you, Mr. Jackson." A smirk played on her lips as she looked through the rearview mirror and eyed the tail of two cars. One black Takota and one white Micardi.
Jackson Blaire, Mei's client, opened his eyes wide and was about to glance back when he heard Mei's voice. "Don't look back."
Jackson was scared out of his wits but hearing her words he stopped the urge to look back at his trailers. He feared for his life.
It's been five years.
Five years!
They were still after his life! If it wasn't because he needed to be here to see his mother for the last time he wouldn't have risked his life to come here in the first place!
Anger rose deep inside him.
How cruel was his father to still be after his life even after five long years?! Was he not his own biological son?! He wouldn't even allow him to take a peaceful look at his late mother for the last time. Taking deep breaths to calm himself down, Jackson hardened his grip on the handle as Mei sped up and made numerous turns around the southeast streets of Kracrith City.
Due to the time, traffic had gone up and people crowded the streets. Especially this part of the city where famous malls and major brands had located themselves in. Mei, who was riding on a motorcycle with her client, was able to lose their tails after a few turns while the traffic made it hard for their trailers to continue on.
"F*ck! We lost them."
The bulky man behind the steering wheel couldn't help but curse out loud as he landed a punch on the steering wheel in the white Micardi. The other man sitting on the passenger seat of the same car also cursed out loud.
"That m*therf*cker."
In between their release of anger they didn't forget that they had to report back. The bulky man behind the wheel said to his partner, "Make the call, Carlo."
The man named Carlo who was in the passenger seat snapped his head towards the bulky man and let out a sneer as he said, "Fat chance Mike."
Just as Mike was about to retort back he heard Carlo continue his words through a sneer.
"Afterall I wasn't the one who lost that f*cker was I? You were the one driving, Mike. Not me."
Mike could help but curse under his breath as he landed a rough side punch at Carlo.
Knowing that it was inevitable Mike took out his phone and dialed a number. The call was picked up after the first ring and the person on the other side sounded rather eager as they greeted, "Any news?"
Mike cleared his throat and reported the truth. "I'm sorry boss. The target hitched a ride from someone and they were on the motorbike. We lost them-"
The person on the other side of the line didn't let Mike continue his words as he snapped at his employee. "How did I teach you idiots! You couldn't even catch a single m*therf*cker! Keep searching for him!"
Mike was about to respond back when he heard consistent beeps coming from his phone. Taking a quick glance at the screen that read "call ended" Mike felt his eye twitch. His hands also itched to do something.
"F*ck!" Another punch landed on the steering wheel and the angle made the horn sound startling the crowd that was currently crossing the street.
Some of the people stared in the direction of his car and Mike felt his anger rise even more. "What the f*ck you looking at you b*st*rd?! Huh?! Never seen an angry man before?!"
Luckily the car was soundproof hence no one heard how hard he was cursing at the innocent pedestrians while they crossed the streets however a few did shake their heads upon seeing how his mouth and entire body was moving about in a rather agitated way.
