Seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours. Without realizing it, the sun was sinking to the western horizon. Now the afternoon has greeted a girl who is still sleeping in her sweet dream.
Knock-knock!
"Za!"
"Khanza!"
"No answer, is the child sleeping huh?" Once again the mother tried to knock on the door.
Khanza had been asleep for almost two hours. Wouldn't have woken up had it not been for a knock on the door. Blinking his eyes, he faintly heard his mother's voice.
"Za.... Wake up it's late!" Mama Khanza shouted from outside the room trying to wake the child.
"Yes, Ma. Khanza is awake," he said in a sleepy voice.
"Hurry down and help Mama huh?!"
"Yes Mom!"
Khanza just realized that he was sleeping with his cell phone still in his hand. "Arif," he muttered, smiling to himself, then he went to the bathroom to wash his face.
Still wearing casual home clothes, the little girl came down to help her mother and aunt cook for dinner tonight.
"Za, Mama needs some cooking ingredients, do you want to buy them at the mini market in front of the complex."
"Okay Ma, but use a motorbike, right?" With a wink, Khanza gave a pitiful face.
"You still can't use Za's motorbike," said the mother. "Remember, this is Jakarta, we just moved here."
Pursed lips, the little girl turned away. "Yes ... yes, Khanza asked for Mr. Usup to take him," he resigned, full of disappointment.
"Eh wait a minute," said the mother.
"What else Mom." Khanza looks unenthusiastic and forced.
"Here's the shopping list and the money. Or you don't need any of this." The mother raised her eyebrows.
"Eits. Obviously it's necessary." Seizing a piece of paper and a few bills from his mother, Khanza said goodbye. But before he left, of course he took his bag, glasses, and sweater jacket first to his room.
"Ma! Khanza go huh?!"
"Yeah! Don't be long huh? Mom needs to hurry!"
"Yes."
With Mr. Driver, Khanza went to buy the ingredients that Mama asked for. But when he arrived in front of the complex, what he was looking for was empty. He and Pak Usup were forced to go to a supermarket in the city center. Now the car is splitting the highway and the traffic jam is blocking in front of it.
Tin-tin!
Tin!
The sound of horns echoed each other because now it was time to go home from work so the streets looked crowded and congested.
"Too bad, sir?" asked Khanza.
"Yes, Non. This is how Jakarta is on weekdays."
"Yes, take it easy, sir."
Instead of being dizzy, Khanza chose to put earphones in his ears. Turning on the song on the cellphone, he also connected the two objects to each other. Who would have thought that only half way through suddenly the car that was carrying the little girl wobbled a little.
"Why the car sir?" Investigate Khanza.
"I don't know, Non, maybe the tire is flat." Mang Usup also pulled the car over and checked what was wrong.
"Shit. Turns out it was a flat tire." And even more unlucky, Mang Usup forgot to bring a spare tire. Knocking on the door beside Khanza, he also informed the master's son about what was going on.
"Well. How are you, sir?" Khanza also came down, saw the rubber object that ran out of air, he snorted harshly.
Mang Usup looked around, there was a small shop across the street. "Wait a minute, Non, you go there first. I want to ask where the nearest repair shop is here."
Khanza nodded. Then let the driver cross the road. While waiting, he grumbled in annoyance as he kicked the round object. "You can scold Mama when you get home. You damn tires."
"Why Za?"
Shocked by surprise, Khanza didn't realize that someone was approaching him. Gaping wide, he seemed unable to believe the towering figure in front of him.
"Za.... Hello?" Arif waved his hand right in front of the cute girl. Trying to wake Khanza from his stupor.
"Eh, A-Arif." Dazed, Khanza turned his head left to right. One question, where did these people come from?
"Is there a problem Za?" Arif inquired once again.
"Em th-that's... uh th-this is th-my car's tire is punctured," he explained nervously. Don't ask how Khanza's heart is beating right now, especially when Arif actually offers to help him.
"Oh. Here let me help, do you have a spare tire or not?"
The one in question was busy wiping the sweat on his forehead. Crazy. Didn't think I'd be able to meet him here, thought Khanza.
"Za? Do you have a spare tire?" Arif repeated.
"Ah th-that...."
"Sorry Den. Incidentally we didn't bring a spare tire." Mang Usup came and immediately answered the young man's question, he already recognized Arif, since he had picked up the employer's son at his new school.
"Well ... so what about it, sir? Where there is no workshop near here anymore." Arif thought about how to help Khanza.
"Yes Den. I also just asked earlier, he said the workshop is very far from here."
"Then how about Khanza, sir? Where are Mama's groceries, haven't Khanza bought them yet." The girl's head is dizzy.
"How are you, Non. Do you want me to just order a taxi?" suggested the driver. Because if you wait for him, it will take a long time.
"Just like this, Za. How about you just come with me, let me take you by motorbike." Arif tries to offer a ride.
"So what about Mr. Usup?" Khanza was worried about the driver.
"No, don't think about you. Later, you will push this car to the repair shop. The important thing is, Non first." Mang Usup gave a reassuring smile to the employer's son.
"Let Arif call the repair shop, sir." Taking out his flat object, the handsome young man contacted someone and asked for his services to immediately repair Khanza's car. "Yes sir. You just wait here, they will come later."
"Thank you Den," said the driver sincerely.
"You're welcome." Turning to Khanza who was still hesitating, Arif also gave a faint smile. "How is Za, do you want me to take you?"
"Em...." Khanza looked closely at Arif. "Okay. Wait a minute, I'll get my bag first in the car."
Accepted Arif's offer because he had no other choice. He was also happy for sure, to be accompanied by the person who had been holding his attention all day. Luckily I was wearing pants, he mumbled to himself.
Riding on the motorbike, Arif handed over a helmet to Khanza. "You want to go straight home?" he asked softly.
"Earlier, I wanted to buy groceries, Mama told me to, but ... it didn't happen, let's just go back," said Khanza.
"Why are you back? Let me take you to buy groceries first, then I'll take you home. Poor Mama, you've been expecting the order."
"But Rif, I'll be bothering you later," Khanza hesitated.
"Never mind Za. There's no trouble for a friendship."
tsk tsk. Arif's kindness really touched the heart of an introverted girl like Khanza.
"Well never mind if you don't feel bothered." Reviewing a smile, the cute girl climbed into the back seat. "Thank you, Rif?" he said sincerely.
"You're welcome Za. Let's go."
Making sure Khanza had sat quietly, Arif started to ride his favorite iron horse. Reading to the supermarket in the middle of the city, he then parked the motorbike and accompanied Khanza inside. Walking side by side like a couple in general.
"What do you want to buy?" Arif asked.
"This." Khanza shows Mama's shopping list.
"Over there." Arif took Khanza's hand, sorting the food ingredients. They didn't realize there were many eyes watching them.
After getting what they were looking for. Arif and Khanza had time to argue over payment at the cashier. Forced to give in, one that Khanza learned from his new friend. "You stubborn bastard," he quipped.
"Indeed," replied Arif without being offended.
Leaving the shopping center, they decided to return to Khanza's house.
"Come on in first Rif," said Khanza when they had managed to enter the courtyard of the luxurious building.
"Erm...." Before he could answer, two middle-aged people caught his attention.
"Khanza," said the two.
