Chapter 24 - Morning Peril

"Damn douchebags! You aren't doing it in front of me!" Ryelia's stringent comment got subdued when Akin flew up to the ceiling because of the man's forceful kick.

It was so destructive that the fragments fell like avalanches into the room. Cause I was too damned to realize I was rooted in stupefaction of the current vengeful animals that are wrecking the whole of our room in a heartbeat, Rain pulled my leg to shove me under the bed so unmindfully that I hurt my jaw when I face tumbled against the floor.

"What? Are we waiting for a miracle to save us? Earth to Reiszha... the ceiling is casting blocks of your death! " Rain annoyedly ridiculed.

"Sorry,"

To which he balled his eyes.

My eyes cruised up to the room and saw Miro and my grandmother in my father's cover, under the adjacent bed, hiding.

And we all watched Akin's shoe fib on the floor like none has been done. As if he didn't just do a supernatural. And that it was just a monotonous usual episode.

"Remind me every time to not conquest the bloodsucker girl. She might make a ball out of my head and make it bounce like how these horrifying males are flickering before my eyes," Rain whispered beside me as we watch the two beat each other out.

"I can't even think what nerve is allowing you to clash her like that," I murmured back.

"Cause she is being a bitch." he annoyedly pointed out.

"Well, let her be cause you are not immortal!"

He didn't answer and shut up.

"You cannot just push a king in his territory, Vallono. Your girls would cry blood to send you to the exalting hades..." the other man's tone is joy and pleasure. Like a kid playing his favorite game, tricking his co-player, and in the end winning.

"And there you are, scorching many women in your hand, just to fill someone's shoes you cannot afford,"

With an impossible gait, everything went blurry in eyesight and we just suddenly heard the other man pushing Akin hard and firm on the wall beside the entrance. The foundation got holed and its fragments straight up fell to Akin's head, to which he basically just shoved. Akin, with silent stance but of an insulting darkness, jerked his head to the side... bored as hell... as his foe warmed up to his head even with the sound captivation.

"I'll make sure she'll reject you," his rival mocked.

His remark caused nothing to Akin who remained staring at whatever it is in their side that he sees worthy to put time than the boldly razz man.

"And that she'll marry an eligible, much impressive, and not... with a dark past vampire... unlike you. You know you are good for nothing compared to me. To her. Everyone knew. Even yourself. And whatever face you'll be painting to conceal your true identity she'll see nothing but despise... and horror... of you "

Papa's statement ranged in me like a broken record as the man progressed more.

"You are lucky I even allowed you to get near her. " he said with gritted teeth. "You are not her type. She wants a good man. Yet here you are, nothing but a bastard-"

"The fuck is wrong with you!" Ryelia intervened before Akin could even beast again. She shouted at him in rage after punching the other man straight in the face that it made his mouth bleed.

"These vain and ineffective duo shouldn't have been born. They are such a disgrace in my lineage," The lousy statement of the punched man reached me.

"I didn't grow up to see your changes come to zero like that! You are not playing a ludicrous knight straight from a movie... doing such cliche and corny shits... just to protect such a pointless woman!" Ryelia clamored.

They can't be talking about me.

Yes, they are.

Damien, who they call him, sprawled his legs widely on the floor as he examine them shamelessly. The man chuckled a heavy warning as the two converse a silent conversation by the eyes.

"Look how ridiculous they are," he said to himself as if he is not a bastard himself. I watch him lick his lips like it was nothing.

"You better bring that man out or you'll never see him again. He is fucking bloodshot in the mind,"

Ryelia's eyes got enraged moist while Akin's hold nothing but blank sight.

"And what do you think you are that you thought you know better for my sister?" he added again when no one conversed back.

Ryelia's death glare didn't stop Akin from striding close to the window where the man is. However, the man's proud gaze steadied on its place as if looking up on where Akin is at is imbecile. And frivolous.

"I told you to let her settle at least, Damien," Akin brushed off.

Damien snorted. Not a bit calmer and tamed.

"Let her settle as you allowed her for too long in the loose, you mean? I am watching for her all these years... in the wild... even though the blood around her is penetrating at me like an evil curse. And even if I am ridiculed of the practices bestowed by that fugly neighborhood! Now that she is under my supervision, this isn't going overdue. You made us waste years, all for nothing,"

"That kind of living strayed her away from war."

"It didn't. It is still war. She didn't escape the chaos. She was just hiding. She cannot be strayed out of it. And acknowledging it is her fate-"

"You all kept deciding what fate is for whom. Rather than just using it as a probable guide, you choose to insist. Isn't that the same mistake our parents made decades ago? Are you blind to not see it getting repeated? And you call yourself a great leader with that compass?"

Damien let out a sardonic chortle that mocked us all. "You probably practiced that speech a long time. It sounded perfect I am about to clap my hands!"

He was about to go livid but was then discourage to do so when someone entered the room. We all turned to the man having the set of faint orange orbs. His eyes peered the whole vicinity and it stopped to the dense viewers under the bed. He tore away with light bafflement before striking a serious business facade.

"Damien," he called from the door.

Damien clicked his shoulder and stood up. Ryelia sprinted all the way out without further ado. And Akin clenched his jaw as if he already indulged the news.

"Tarnus, Delila, and Cier visited."

"And they wanted the girl."
