In high school, my boyfriend, who later became my fiancé, gave me a book about our anniversary and told me to tell him my opinion after reading it. The title of the book was "The villainess love".
The story began with a modern-day girl who lost her life in an accident and was reincarnated in the novel she had criticized for the unpleasant ending. In the novel, she had read the main character was a simple girl named Mireya who had escaped from Nirvana kingdom for a crime committed against the newly appointed king, but life on the run was harder than she had imagined, she had to look for food, and from life as simple as she had had before she was not prepared for something like that.
The soldiers of her kingdom were looking for her everywhere so she found it difficult to live in a place with other people who could spy on her so the forest was her secret place. At the time when she had lost all hope and the soldiers were taking her, the second prince of Raeon kingdom was nearby and he rescued her.
He took her with him to his castle providing Mireya with work and shelter. In the end, the prince could not escape the beauty of the girl and proposed to her. But that road was not easy, as they both knew that their feelings were mutual, the girl's life was made more difficult by her rival Nasya Corttes the first daughter of marquess Corttes who was the villainess of the story.
Nasya and the prince were childhood friends, and from the time they met at the academy, Nasya would not miss a single moment to express her love for him. But the prince always showed his discomfort she caused him and after learning that the prince had plans to marry someone else she started her intrigues. But whatever she did went wrong and the end of her and the accomplices who followed her had the same ending, death, and the prince and Mireya lived happily ever after.
The fate of the girl who was reincarnated in this novel had the role of the villainess Nasya Corttes who would die from her absurd love for the second prince. But fortunately, she didn't take the same direction as in the original story but lived a quiet life with her friend Alan Akriste, the young duke of the Akriste family. At the time she was going to meet the second prince she didn't show any romantic feelings towards him, which thus intrigued the prince and made him more approachable to Nasya's views and thoughts.
Nasya had knowledge from the modern world that was why that made her more distinctive in aristocratic society and throughout the kingdom with her extraordinary achievements. The prince and duke himself show an open interest in her, but she didn't want to cross that line as long as she had a happy life and wealth, involvement with the prince would cause her a great loss at the time when Mireya would appear.
But to her surprise, when she appeared the prince showed no interest in her but as in the original story, he left her to work in his castle as before. And later he swore his unconditional love to Nasya and not to Mireya who in fact was his first love.
With this action, the rivalry between the second prince and duke Akriste begins. They were both in love with Nasyan but the prince was the first to break the wall she had built around her and ask for her hand in marriage. Each of them had a chance to win and could also offer the same things, only the title would change. So to be a bit higher than his rival, the second prince killed his brother becoming the only heir to the throne.
Nasya eventually married the prince and became empress and Alan died in the war. Some say he had a heart so broken that he couldn't even bear the weight of the war, so he killed himself. Nobody knew the truth but the couple, in the end, live happily.
When I finished and had to give my opinion on my fiancé's book I did not know what to say. The novel had many ups and downs and Nasya mostly did nothing but used her knowledge in simple conversations with friends and characters who had more contact with Mireya in the original story. Everyone could see and I was the first to say that she just wanted to brag and take the stage that belonged to Mireya from the beginning.
Even the prince who had a pure love for a simple girl of another kingdom was influenced by her and went so far as to kill his brother out of the enmity he had with his former best friend.
Mireya in this case was not mentioned at all, she appeared only as a character who lost all her rights and continued life in the castle as if nothing had happened to her. Nasya had now taken the stage and there was no place for her anymore.
In a way, my fiancé showed a kind of dislike when I talked to him about the characters who had impressed me the most, but his expression changed when I started talking about my favorite character.
He was the first prince of the Raeon kingdom, Alastair Viotto Aleader. He did not appear much in history because his end was from the beginning to die from the war for power at the hands of his brother. But his appearance and actions left me more impressed than all the others.
In the original story, he was the only one to help his brother in the marriage with a commoner even though they were half-brothers and the intrigues inside the palace were endless and suffocating. And in both stories he had made the greatest contribution to the kingdom, being at the forefront of the war against the enemies in battle.
So he was the character who had gone through the most suffering from everyone else, in battle and inside the royal palace, and again he ended up dead due to Nasya's influence.
After I finished giving my opinion about the book, I can say that he gave me the right in my opinion that Nasya was the one who had the worst impact on the story, but also that I was mostly focused on the characters and not on the story was a bad remark. In the end, he gave me a light smile and didn't ask about the book anymore.
And maybe he was right, maybe I focused more on the main characters than I forgot the events that take place. But no matter how much I try to remember, I'm sure there was nothing in the story about Rapha and also about a character with my characteristics.
Maybe it has been in the dark because the body I reincarnated has no name and certainly doesn't have a favorite background. I can say that I feel a little jealous that I couldn't be reborn as a person with financial power or a simple character where I could climb the career ladder in a certain field, even a princess locked in a tower wouldn't be bad.
But to be reborn as a person with clear characteristics of a beast spoken only in the books of antiquity is not right. It's not fair at all, what am I going to do with a life like this?
"Good morning, it looks like it was a long night?"
The moment this little girl introduced herself the day before, I was left like a statue in place not knowing what to say out of astonishment. The girl in fact was not alone even though at first she had told me that she was walking the streets alone just like me. Her guards came a little later and I accepted the offer she gave me to live with her.
No matter what, now I have shelter and food, so I don't have to try to find places to escape, it made me feel more like the original heroine of this story which had the opportunity to create a new life in a foreign land. Nasya and her guards were not surprised by my hair so I will have no problem living here which made me doubtful if I was doing the right thing.
"Not at all, I just had a lot to think about."
"Hmm, interesting hehe."
"What?"
"Nothing, a maid will come later to measure you, and then you will have the clothes you need to live here. But first, you must be hungry right, do you want to eat together?"
The Nasya I have in front of me is maybe six years old, so a year younger than me, and her behavior looks different from the original story so she must be the girl of modern times who has been reincarnated just like me. It is good that I will not be dealing with someone who wants power and kills people openly just like the first Nasya. Although this version of her isn't different from the previous one.
"If you want to, it's okay for me."
"Hehe if so then, we will eat together. Get ready so after that, I can show you the house."
"…"
"I don't want you to get lost on your first day here."
After Nasya said those words a maid came to take my body measurements and also gave me some previously-used clothes from her wardrobe. Either way, I think those clothes were not for me. In my previous life, I would rarely wear a dress and mostly at events like the prom ball, on graduation day, or wedding occasions. Even on the day of our engagement, the two stars of the pasty were in simple clothes, because we didn't want to have a big deal due to work.
After Nasya saw me wearing her clothes she gave me a bright smile and took my hand. I took it as an action that anyone would do to show the other that we had to go, but in fact, at that moment I didn't feel she touched my hand but she put something metallic in it.
Huh, something feels somewhat strange! I turned and looked Nasya in the face as if I wanted an explanation about what she was doing, and at the end, after she had finished she said
"A safety measurement that neither party will be harmed!"
