Chapter 8 - The librarian looks odd

When Lune gets back to her room, the maids never question her state and just bring her a clean dress for her to get changed. Once she feels refreshed from the dry dress, she exits her room and starts walking towards the royal library, knowing full well that Sol doesn't have any lessons in the library right now. Pushing through the large mahogany doors, Lune is impressed with the amount of bookshelves seemingly tall around her, "if a library this large has no info on werewolves, I will be burning all these down."

"Burn what now?"

Lune must have been shouting as loud as possible since a lady in white who seems to appear out of thin air is watching her with a creepy looking smile, "I don't think I want to see a fire destroying all these books, most of them are precious and only one in the whole world."

"Who are you?!"

"How rude, I should be the one asking that question to you," she smirks wider, showcasing her odd looking teeth that look too sharp to be human, "but I will be tolerant to you since you are just a kid. I'm the librarian here, so I'm in charge when someone else enters here, no exceptions."

Without thinking, Lune blurts out, "not even when I'm the princess?" She frowns when she hears herself saying this, since she never thought to use her authority at such a time.

"I don't care if you're the king or even a god, I'll still want you to behave. Now, what did you say about burning again?"

'I shouldn't have said that, now I'm on the librarian's bad side and she might be the only one that knows where the books are.' Flashing a fake sweet smile hoping that she might soften, Lune says, "I'm sorry that I spoke out of turn without thinking, since I'm just a child anyway."

"Fine, can't really drill much about manners into your mind. So what do you need?" She starts walking around her, inspecting her from head to toe like she is trying to dissect her with her eyes, "I heard the word werewolf. Why does a princess have the need to pursue that kind of knowledge?"

"Just to sate my curiosity. Can you please help me look for those books? I can't sleep if I don't get my answers," the librarian stops walking and she ponders for a while, before she starts laughing hard, like she just heard the best joke in the whole world. Lune feels like walking out right here right now, but she can't since she has nowhere else to go to for that kind of knowledge, "fine. I understand your sentiment. Sit down, I'll get those books, since I can't trust others handling these precious."

She walks away and when Lune finally gets to take a better look of the state of the library, she just realized that there's only one chair, so once she gets herself seated, she is thinking what she should do once she knows more about werewolves. She must have been so deep in her thoughts that she never realized she was being pulled away from the chair, and when her bottom hits the floor, a stack of books are placed in front of her, "that seat is mine. You're welcome to use the floor."

"What a selfish hag," Lune mumbles and she starts leafing through the first book, where it's on the different types of mythical beasts, and she looks through the content to find werewolves, only to be disappointed when somehow the drawing of the supposed werewolves are not even accurate, since it looks more like a wolf standing on two instead of how Chilve transform himself. She sighs and puts down that book, and she continues the next one, where it talks about some histories regarding potential sightings of werewolves, and the author wrote about how they are supposed to be extinct, and she shakes her head before moving on to the next.

"You look serious, as if you know at least half of what you are pursuing."

Looking up from the huge tome that can cover Lune's full face, she pouts, "let's just say I did have some leads and clues before searching for more here."

The librarian doesn't say anything further and when Lune is getting overwhelmed with how the fifth book is talking about the mating cycles of werewolves, she suddenly offers, "get out of here."

"I'm sorry?"

"I said," she heaves a huge sigh as if Lune just asked a stupid question, "to get out of here. I want to be alone in my sanctuary here. You can take those books back to your room, just remember to give them back in a few days."

'What kind of a librarian that just chases the readers away?' Knowing she can't really say much in this situation, Lune gets up from the floor and carries the books, then without bidding goodbye since she wants to be alone, she doesn't even bother closing the door when she exits.
