Chapter 13 - Will we meet again soon?

Lune doesn't understand why there's a single flower on her desk when she is back, and furthermore it's something that she has never seen before. She asked the maids whether they were the ones that placed it there for her, but no one has any answer for it.

When she strokes it carefully, she can feel how soft the light blue petals are. Looking at how the flower seems to be shining more when there's less light, she blows off the candles of her room, and has a larger admiration for the flower now that it's the only thing she sees. Lune leans closer to take a whiff of it, but the smell is very subtle, thus she crosses off the thought that it can be made into a perfume. After a few minutes of staring at it without having any ideas on how to preserve it longer, she decides to make the flower worth it by making it a hair decoration, albeit how short it will stay fresh and blooming. 'Just like fireworks, it's beautiful, yet it just happens in an instant before it burns out.'

Finally satisfied with her decision, she places the flower carefully into her accessory box before slipping into her bed, yawning when she realizes how tired she is today from all the new responsibilities that required her brain to work more than usual. She hates the court meeting, since it's like something similar to the directors' meeting she often had to be careful of what she said in her past life. One small move and her weakness will be revealed, and the enemies will close in without leaving any speck of mercy left before crushing her into pieces. 'I would like to live a longer life this time, thank you very much.'

Soon when her breathing is in a steady rhythm, the window of her room opens slowly before someone else enters. The intruder approaches the bed and when he sees how relaxed she looks in her sleep, he almost chuckles before biting his own lip to stop it, in fear of waking her up. Afterall, she looks ethereally beautiful when the moonlight tonight shines on her.

Chilve bends down and takes a seat at the edge of the bed carefully to look at her sleeping form closer this time, and he resists himself from caressing her cheek and whispers, "I might need to leave soon, since my training is almost complete. I have a pack to take care of, and responsibilities to take. Maybe, when we are ready to confront the feelings we have for each other, I will come back to you to reconfirm about it."

She suddenly stirs in her sleep, which makes him feel like he will be caught red handed if she ever wakes up right now, and before he can sprint off, Lune changes her sleeping position and continues her slumber.

He gets up and with one last look at her, he turns and exits the room, eager for his one last hunt before challenging his uncle for the alpha position.

The moment the window is closed shut, Lune's eyes open quickly as she feels like there's someone watching her, and sighs in relief when there's no one else in her room. She groans when she realizes she needs to get to sleep again, since it took her some time to fall asleep earlier, "why did I have to feel nonsense when there's obviously no one around? Stupid senses."

And she freezes on the spot when her hand feels warmth on one part of her bed.

Her first thought is there might be a ghost, but why are ghosts able to produce warmth in the first place? Then when she thought about possible intruders, she looks around and realizes it's not a normal burglar, since if it is, her room will be in a mess and she might be kidnapped instead.

"Chilve?" She gets down from her bed and walks towards the window, opening it to let the night breeze blowing in and she looks around the balcony, "Chilve, you there?"

There's no answer, again, just like the last time she called him when he said he will be here when his name is called, "liar."

"Who called me a liar?"

She almost scream from the sudden appearance of the wolf boy, and instantly her mouth is being covered by his hand, where Chilve chuckles a little before shushes her by gesturing with a finger and she nods, where he releases his hand and asks, "it's not exactly a good thing to have a girl calling for a boy to her room late at night like this."

"I was just testing, you know, an experiment on whether you will really come if I called. Though it seems you aren't always here."

"Did my princess call for me multiple times already? How honored," she blushes when she hears the word 'my' from him. 'Calm down, he might just be calling without any other meaning.' "I didn't."

"Denial, but I can live with it. So why did you suddenly ask for me? Can't sleep?" Chilve tilts his head when Lune seems to be doubting his words, and he raises his hands up in defense, "woah, why this look?"

"You came in earlier, didn't you? That's why I felt that someone's watching me."

When he finally nods after getting caught from sneaking in earlier, Lune pouts and smacks his shoulder, "and just when I can finally sleep, you ruined it! Now I have to fall asleep all over again."

He laughs a little from the comment and she will never admit out loud how cute he is, "did you have trouble sleeping? I have a sure way to sleep right away, do you want to try?"

"Why do I have the feeling that you will be making me faint instead of sleeping?"

"It seems you're not as dumb as you look."

"Hey! Come here," she starts chasing after him around, where he is giggling about how she is a childish one for getting mad at little things like this, and when someone is shouting about hearing some odd noises, Chilve stops and he says, "looks like playtime's over. I will be taking my leave now, Lune."

"What? But-" she stops talking when he climbs up to the railing of the balcony, "I might not be able to see you again soon, since I have something to do before I come back to this area."

Before she can say anything further, he dives down to the bushes at the ground before someone knocks on her room door, "your highness! We heard sounds coming from your room. Are you alright?"

"Yes! Now get out from here before I complain about you all disturbing my sleeping routine!" Soon the footsteps of the guards are no longer heard, and Lune now has more trouble getting herself to sleep now.
