Knowing she has the freedom for an adventure after this stupid and pretentious ceremony, Lune keeps telling herself that she needs to endure just for one whole day. When she asked for advice on the itinerary planning, she realized there's a lot to include just for a standard coming of age, and moreover they are royalty, which makes the whole event more difficult and has more items to include. And in history, most of the royalties found their future spouses from this event, or else they will be married off to some kingdom far away.
The morning of the day has come, and when the maids are rushing the twins to get their appearance ready, Lune's eyes almost come out when she sees her dress, "hold on, are you girls sure that this is my dress?"
"Yes, your highness! You will look good in this, I'm sure all the princes will ask you for a dance when they see you in this."
"The color suits your hair!"
"I wish our coming of age dress looks half as nice as this."
Yes, it definitely looks nice and elegant with all the gold threads embroidered on the silk. Lune's mind wanders off to how much hard work the related parties have to pour in just for this one dress, and she starts feeling bad for being a princess. She might need to stress more on her request after this if this is considered simple and elegant when she told the royal seamstress what she wanted to wear. The moment the dress is on her, she feels so small when the waist down is so much larger and puffy, "oh my god, I feel like I can't feel my legs wearing this."
"We have more on the dress, hold still your highness."
'More?!' She freezes when there's another cloth that is taken out from the box that was fitted with her dress earlier, and when she observes it carefully, she realizes that it's like a train of sorts, the one where it will be attached to wedding dresses, "wait, it's just a coming of age. I'm not getting married!"
"The length of your wedding dress will be much longer," they start working on her dress, where Lune is feeling overwhelmed from the sudden reality that hits her hard right now. 'Is this really okay? I'm not secretly being married off while no one's looking, right?' And when the head maid senses her unease, she chuckles and tries to calm her down, "the train will be removed when the time comes for the dance party after the prayers."
'That doesn't calm me at all.'
They start on her hair and makeup when her dress seems to have been put on all together, and before they can decide on what hair ornaments to use, Lune points to her dresser and says, "get the golden chest from my drawer. Put on the flower that I often wear."
"But your highness, today is your big day, so you need better hair ornaments than just one flower," she turns to glare at the maid without feeling conscious of it, and when she cowers from the princess's glare, she softens and says, "you are free to put as many ornaments as you want, but the flower is a must."
They quickly get to work and soon her final appearance is ready, and when the head maid gushes about how grown up the princess looks, she checks her appearance and is a little surprised at how different she looks normally.
Her blonde hair has been tied up to a huge braided bun filled with pearls ornaments. On her left she has the flower secured safely with lots of bobby pins, while on her right has a star shaped hair clip that shines in a different color whenever she turns her head slightly. Her makeup is not too thick, but she has a red lipstick on, which complements her pale skin a lot. Her earrings are in the shape of her first name, and there's a huge pearl necklace that goes all the way to her chest, covering whatever her dress doesn't cover, since it shows her cleavage from her growing mounds. The train is attached to her waist, and she can tell how hard it will be to walk or run with this length later. The dress from waist down is really puffy and lots of cloth, making her wonder if her legs will be sweating all over since it's covered with so many layers. They prepared baby blue heels for her, and she is impressed with how blue roses adorn the top of the heels, and is disappointed when the dress actually covered her shoes, 'what's the point of having such beautiful shoes when the dress is this magnificent? Imagine the dress when I have to get married.'
Someone knocks on the door and one of the maids get it, where they bows immediately when it's Prince Sol himself, looking dashingly handsome with a suit that has the same design theme as Lune's dress, gold embroidery with silver silk, "I thought you asked for something simple, my sister."
"And according to them, this is already simple for me," she sighs deeply and he almost laugh at how uncomfortable she looks like right now, and Lune feels better that there's no gadgets that works like the camera in this world, or else she is sure that Sol will take a photo of her and makes fun of it for the rest of their lives, "it's fine. At least your future spouse can't miss you with how extravagant this is."
Lune shows him the middle finger and curses, "fuck off Sol," and earns a glare from the head maid, "language, your highness!"
"Yes, it's language. I'm already courteous enough to ask him that," Sol starts laughing from how devastated the maids look like right now, and after calming himself down from the laughter, he extends his arm out to Lune, "shall we?"
His twin takes his offered arm and they start walking, with the maids holding the end of the train for Lune. They have quite the distance to the royal chapel that will hold the ceremony, which involves some prayers and a few chants here and there or so they heard. There are guards stationed outside the chapel doors, and before they can enter, one of the guards bows before saying, "Prince Sol and Princess Lune, please wait here before they open the door from the inside."
'Let's just get this over with.'
The door finally opens after they somehow sent the signal, and the chapel organ starts playing.
