Devil's have the strength of many men. In order to use this strength proper training is required, because of this most devils are only slightly stronger than the average human.

Grey awoke from his painful slumber to the sound of crying. He looked around the room and only saw his mother there, on her knees sobbing. Grey thought this was strange, the last thing he remembered was walking home from sword practice. Upon realizing that he was in a strange location he began to stir. Shelby, seeing movements immediately stopped her crying and began to advance towards Grey with a hopeful look on her face. Grey saw his mom staring at him, and said "What are you looking at? Have you never seen your son before?", even though Grey gave a snarky reply Shelby could not help being happy that her son still seemed in good spirits.
"I thought I told you to come right home after sword practice" said Shelby accusingly. Grey was about to respond but he began to realize he had no idea where he was. He started thinking back to his last memories, realizing he had been walking back from sword practice. It had been another boring practice, full of sword drills. Because of this he had been in a foul mood walking home. While walking through the cobbled streets of the village the usual delinquents were out yelling obscenities at Grey. Grey paid no attention to such calls, he was used to it.
Most obscenities bounce off Grey, however, one delinquent yelled obscenities about his mother. It took all of Grey's willpower to not turn around and fight the delinquent. As Grey progressed through the village, towards home, most of the houses became more run down and decayed. Grey continued walking through the rough neighborhood, lost in thought. Suddenly he heard movement from behind him; however, before he could turn around he felt something slam into his head, causing his vision to go black.
The next thing Grey remembered was waking up to see his mother sobbing in front of him.He figured something must have happened between his walk home and him arriving in the decayed house beaten and bruised. He then turned to his emotional mother and asked "What happened to me, did you finally decide to get rid of your troublesome full-blood child?" Shelby looked at Grey for a moment before giving him a flick to the head, "I have put too much effort into raising such an irritating child, no way I would harm you." She then began explaining how she arrived at the cottage and the delinquents she scared away.
Shelby explained that when Grey did not come home for lunch at the usual time she contacted Christopher, Grey's sword instructor, to see if Grey was engaging in extra practice. This was already a far stretch for Grey, who tries to get out of practice at any opportunity. Christopher told Shelby that he had no idea where Grey was, that he had sent him home at the usual time. This caused Shelby to become even more worried and began asking around the village for information regarding Grey. Apparently an older women was walking home and had seen the whole incident occur and pointed Shelby in the correct direction.
Shelby continued to explain the rest of the story but Grey's attention was lost. He interrupted his mother and asked "So, are we going back to our house for lunch? Or are we just going to lay here and you tell me about your whole afternoon?" Shelby looked at her son and realized that Grey was just trying to cover up the serious nature of everything that happened through sarcasm. Understanding her son's intentions she nodded her head and began to help Grey stand. The mother and bruised son began making their way through the decaying village to their small, yet clean home. Neither of them realizing at that moment, the storm that was about to fall upon them.
