Chapter 28 - A drama to watch

Ch-28

Adira was shocked at the sudden question about her future sister-in-law. Eudora understood her intention of Lenora in that very second. The vampire elders wanted to say something to Lenora but Eudora stopped them, holding up her hand firmly. Even Zaros shut his mouth when he saw his mother supporting Lenora.

"Princess Adira?" Lenora called out again with a bright smile.

"That's enough for her I guess. I wish her position as a royal maid would be stripped and would be my maid in my chambers after marriage as a cleaner," Adira said as she hugged her brother tighter. Her voice didn't waver.

Adira could understand that the woman in front of her did this thing willingly and she wasn't just a vampire but something else. Adira could see Lenora looked healthier than others. Lenora looked more alive than dead. She has the tinge of running warm blood on her face.

She looked mature, less harmful yet smart and intellectual. She can overshadow anyone with her presence.

Lenora raised a brow at her. Adira looked pure, delicate, and innocent in her clothes. Her make-up gave her an angelic look, pale skin with a light blush on her cheeks. While…Lenora looked confident, courageous, mature, and strong front. They both were polar opposites.

Despite their differences, one similarity between them was that they both were innocent in some way. Lenora's innocence was just too visible to the naked eye. But as for Lenora, only the people who were close to her could say she was innocent.

"Your way of punishment is too unique, Princess Adira. I am rest assured that the Vampire Kingdom will be in good hands, getting a Queen like you," Lenora praised her.

Turning a royal maid into a cleaner in her personal chambers was equal to announcing to the world that she got no peaceful days. As long as she's obedient, she would be out of trouble. If not… then she wasn't.

Lenora wanted to laugh at Ophelia's situation but she controlled herself for the sake of saving her image. Even Eudora smiled in satisfaction at her daughter-in-law's response. Aye…. Eudora can have fun with Ophelia with her daughter-in-law in tow. Unlike Lenora, Eudora couldn't stop herself from smirking.

"May I know what Princess Adira would like to do with that lowly maid?" a vampire Elder, Darick Melchior asked. All the Vampire Elders know the rift between the old queen and this maid. Now… looks like the war between this maid and the new queen was inevitable.

Aye… they got drama to watch.

"My Lord, maids behave according to their masters. And from her behavior, Princess Lenora Serafina Valorine isn't her master. I am curious about her master. Even before I became a queen… I could see people plotting against me.

"And Princess Lenora… is testing me earlier with her question. She wanted to know whether I am fit for her brother and the kingdom. Since I suppose, you all have an impression of me… I wouldn't tell you my thoughts. After all, actions speak louder than words. Let there be some suspense, My lord," she said with a small giggle.

Lenora, Eudora, Zaros, and the other Elder Vampires were shocked. The way she presented herself made them believe she was innocent and gullible. But now, they could see that she was not what she seems to be. As the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover.

In fact, Lenora and Eudora thought that Adira would stay silent but didn't. Maybe this woman wasn't as innocent as she showed.

"Now I will agree with Princess Lenora's words. Even I am rest assured that the Vampire kingdom is getting a Queen like you," Darick Melchoir said.

"I feel like I am flying in the clouds," Lenora said, exaggerating her actions like a kid.

Eudora chuckled loudly for the first time. Lenora and Zaros' heads turned toward her in a swift motion. It had been two years since they heard Eudora's laugh.

Zaros watched his mother and his future wife. He has a complicated expression on his face as he altered his gaze at both women. He has to agree that his future wife looks quite capable.
