Chapter 6 - Stop scaring me, you little piece of-

Alora immediately used her other leg to kick off the hand that had grabbed her. With a loud scream, she moved back as she tried to stabilize herself.

"What the hell?! Stop scaring me, you little piece of shit-" She kicked the thing's head and it caused the head to fall out from the rest of the body.

Alora was breathing heavily as she looked at the undead thing that was lying on the floor trying to find its head that had bounced off like a football. It took a bit of effort, but the creature was finally able to succeed in putting the head back on its body.

Alora had the urge to kick the head off again, but she restrained herself from doing so as she looked down at the creature and asked "What the hell are you?"

She wasn't really expecting a reply. Most of the creatures she had met here didn't know the human language, but whenever she saw something that looked remotely like a human, she would ask it this question just in case.

She wanted to know if she was the only human here and there were two more questions she wanted to ask. The first question she wanted to ask was if this was really a dream and the second question was: Do you know a man with golden-red eyes?

The creature looked at her and she almost regretted asking such a question. Instead of eyes, there were two hollow spots on its face and although it looked like the creature was trying to see through them, Alora was sure that the creature was blind. Probably not born blind, this creature seemed to have had eyes at some point in time, but the eyes had been dug out or maybe they had rotten away before his body could.

The skin on the creature was black as charcoal and smelled bad. Alora was sure that if a human were to be burnt, this would probably be the result. Its limbs were thin and Alora could almost see the bone that was peeking through from some parts where the skin was not even thick enough to cover it.

The creature opened its mouth to say something, but whatever came out was a string of gibberish that Alora couldn't classify as human language.

"So you're a useless one," Alora sighed as she looked around in search of something.

She took a few steps towards her right and picked up a stick from the ground as she asked, "Do you want to live or do you want me to free you?"

The creature seemed to want to stand up, but its legs were too weak, almost looking like two sticks that had no energy to carry the rest of the body up and Alora felt a sense of pity at the sight.

"I guess you'd like to be freed?" Alora asked as she sharpened the stick in her hand and held it up high, "This is your last turn to choose. Bow your head if you want to be freed and scramble away if you want to live."

By this time, Alora had already understood that she was looking at a creature that had no tongue or eyes, but it could hear her and it seemed to be understanding human language.

Alora sighed as she saw the creature bowing its head, "So that's what you want? You made your decision and now I'm gonna make mine."

The wooden stick struck down on the creature's head and impaled it, killing the damn thing immediately.

"I'm sorry, bud. I hope you get a better life next time. " Alora spoke as she closed her eyes and let go of the stick that was standing upright after having nailed the creature's head onto the ground.

The creature's body slowly started turning into dust and Alora could almost feel it thanking her as its soul disappeared.

Her lips turned down in a frown as she saw this.

"How do you guys end up like this?" This wasn't the first time Alora was seeing such a creature. She had come across them often and unlike other hairy creatures, these corpse-like things would be rather docile and would often ask her to kill them. At first, it was fun to kill them, but after a certain amount of time passed, it started getting a bit sad to see all of these creatures just offering up their lives like that.

Alora was ready to walk away from the scene but as soon as she turned her head, she came face to face with a rather... Good looking man.

Alora gasped as she felt a little surprised and unconsciously took a few steps back.

"W-who the hell are you?!" She asked the man with a bit of fear laced along with her voice.

The man smiled as he clapped his hands, "You are so amazing, Miss Savoir."

Alora was left a little stunned as she heard the man and this was because he was actually the first one in this world that could perfectly speak human language.

She was a bit interested to know more about this man but at the same time, she was cautious as well since she no longer had a stick in hand which made her practically defenseless. If this man was one of those shape-shifting creatures, she was going to be in big trouble.

"What do you mean?" Alora asked after much hesitation.

The man looked into her eyes as he spoke and it almost made her feel as if he could see through her. As if he wasn't staring at 'her' but was actually staring directly into her soul. "But you shouldn't go about doing everything those things say."

Alora couldn't understand what the man was talking about so she simply stared at him, waiting for him to explain further.

"They aren't good people."

"Good people? What do you mean?"

The man smiled and didn't respond to her question as he diverted the topic by introducing himself, "You can call me Carmen. I'm someone who belongs to this world. While you..." He stepped closer to her and Alora unconsciously took another step back, "You are a trespasser to this world, so tell me, darling. What are you doing here?"

Alora gulped in fear as she heard this and mustered up the courage to ask, "What do you mean this world?"

Carmen smiled as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards himself. Alora bumped against his chest and would have almost fallen back if it wasn't for the man holding her.

"Be careful," The man whispered sensually as he glanced at her and then at the thing behind her.

Alora turned her head to look at what the man was referring to, only to realize that she almost stepped into a hole.

"Those things are dangerous for you," Carmen beamed as he let go of her wrist.

"Dangerous?" Alora looked at the man, thinking that he would explain but he said nothing. Carmen turned back and walked away without a word.

"Wait up for me!" It took Alora a whole minute to snap out from her initial shock as she ran after the man, shouting, "Tell me more!"

"Tell you what?" Carmen chuckled.

"More! Tell me about this place. Isn't that why you're here?"

"Huh? What do you mean, young lady?"

Alora pulled the man's arm as she asked, "You said you're from here so you must know more about this place, don't you? Tell me!"

Carmen was a bit taken back to see this reaction from the woman. Nobody had ever dared to pull him by the arm so rudely like this before and not only had this woman done such a thing but she was also demanding him to answer her questions as if he was entitled to do something like that.

If people from this world were to see this, they would certainly start being afraid of this woman who wasn't even afraid of a high-ranked demon such as Carmen. There was a reason why even after being such a gentleman, he was still considered a high-ranked demon, and that reason was closely related to the fact that he could shred her soul in mere seconds without even a warning.

Carmen smiled mischievously as he felt a little amused by the girl. He could finally understand why the demon prince was so obsessed and infuriated with her and this only made him want to know more about this girl.

With that same wicked smile, Carmen asked, "What do you want to know? I can tell you anything you desire to hear."
