Chapter 3 - 003 [Official]

-Jass POV-

I wish I could take my own advice.

The slamming turned into banging quickly, some of the students went under their tables with their backpacks to pull out their phones. Others went to a corner at the back of the room, And little stayed in their seats.

All eyes went on our teacher, Miss.L voice wasn't heard but we could all make out what she was saying.

'This is not a drill' her silent words spoke. The words everyone hoped wouldn't come out.

I could see now that all the students were terrified, the fear in their eyes was so visible it was like it was glowing, making its presence known. I scanned the room for B, looking frantically around the room.

Soon I found him squeezing himself behind a large bookcase at the very back of the classroom. Knowing he would be safe I went to the opposite side of the room, hoping for some empty hiding spots. Soon I found one under a table with no one under it, I spirited across the classroom just in time to see how well it was hidden.

It was one of those small circle tables where the teacher sits. So I crawled under the table, praying for everything to be ok.

The banging stopped, I could hear footsteps becoming faint. Then silence.

Were they gone, maybe the class down the hall? I waited, none of the students moved. Or maybe they were just silently moving? I couldn't think about that at the time, the only thing that matters right now is why…

Shooting wasn't common in Westburg, sure you can never know if it's 'Gun Free' but never for harming people outside of self defence.

So Why?

Why Westburg?

And why the west grizzlies?

Why us?...

There are too many whys and what if's it was starting to make my head hurt. The classroom was dead silent, almost no live sound thought the class, only the hint of fear and suspense. The two emotions aren't really a sound but, it's like you could hear it, the pounding of hearts, the silent but heavy breathing of the lungs and the constant fear lurking behind their eyes.

The classroom was dead, but something brought it back to life. A small girl looking like a middle schooler popped out her head behind a chair, Slowly she crawled along the floor army style

ignoring everyone's hand movements to crawl back. She was all the way next to the door, she flattened her face against the coarse carpet looking under the door. Surely she crawled away all the way to the chair and looked around the room. Locking her eyes with me, why me. Sadly my question wasn't answered.

The classroom was dark to dark to see what she looked like in detail, she quietly mouthed

No one is there, the police should be on their way.

How did she know that?

Who is she?

-10 minutes later-

Just like that mystery girl came out of nowhere, she left out of nowhere. Much like the saying gone without a trace, the police questioned everyone of the juniors, they even tried to find the girl but it was no use. The only thing they found was her name in the school records.

The class had to go to the town's police station for 'questioning'. They did it in the usual pattern of boys than girls, youngest to oldest, siblings together. It was B's turn to go into one of the rooms. I haven't seen him besides watching him hide. I heard one of the officers say our names.

"Bryan Taylor and Jasmine Taylor please come into room 6" said the officer.

"O-Okey" we spoked together

The officer looked surprised by our accidental 'twin telegraphy'. I could swear I saw him shiver.

"Eh….Follow me please" was all he could make up, then he spinned on his heel and into a hallway.

The walk down the hallways looked so short but felt so long, B was next to me and the officer was ahead of us. I have figured out that the officer's name was Thomas.

The more we walked the more I could see b's fear in his eyes grow. So I wanted to do something about it.

I nugged B's shoulder, waiting for a response.

There was none, so I tried again.

Still no reaction.

"Timothy 1:7." That was all I could make out to him, I didn't know what to say. I didn't even know if B knew what it meant. Well soon I'll find out.

B shifted his gaze towards me, slowly me said the verse. He said it so softly I barely made them out.

"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." B said

I smiled, one of my few genuine smiles.

The officer looked at us, well me then quickly looked away. He was mumbling something, was he talking to himself? Maybe.

With a stern voice he said, "where here."

And this is where our story really begins.
