As soon as I woke up I had a strange gut feeling. It was different than any feeling I had before, it was almost giddy. I just chalked it up to excitement for my first day of senior year. I took a shower and got dressed quickly, I was going to be late. I ran down the stairs and yelled to the rooms as I have every school day for every year before, "First come first serve!" Six teenagers ran out of their respective rooms and ran to my van, with me following behind, grabbing an apple off of the bowl on the counter for my breakfast. I get in and already there was a fight breaking out about which person got there first. Does this have to happen every day, I thought to myself. "Hey!" I yelled, using my most authoritarian voice, "Who walked out the door first?" They both raised their hands. "Then you both can walk." Their faces fell. I walked around the van to the driver's side, got in, and turned the key. I drove with the music turned up, drowning out the sound of the rowdy teens in the back, and pulled into the closest available space in the school's parking lot. I walked in, found my locker, and got myself situated. I looked at my schedule. Ugh. Math. I made my way up the stairs and walked in the classroom door right before the final bell rang. And then I saw her. Her blonde hair was knotted into a bun on the top of her head, a few strands falling around her perfectly formed face. She was looking down doodling on her notebook, and all I wanted to do was see what she was drawing. She had me interested and she didn't even have to try. Her dark shirt contrasted heavily with her pale skin, making her look almost ethereal. She glanced up and her forest green eyes met mine. The wolf inside me was howling and going crazy, he was trying to leap out of my skin. MATE?
