Chapter 31 - Tesha Lacroix

~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Date: February 10th, 2297)~~~

~~~(Time: 7:00 AM)~~~
The system's alarm wakes me up with a gentle tone. I learn up from the bed and sit on the edge. I had to spend 1 gold for the night, giving me an even 400. The price is perfect in my opinion. Speaking of perfect, time to get a move on. Tesha's shop should be open, and I'm ready to get a move on her quest to unlock Alchemy.
It's been 3 days since I've started on this journey through my life again. My situation does seem like something you'd read in a book or see in a movie. Once outside my room, I make it downstairs and toss the key back to the innkeeper. "Return anytime!" Acknowledging him is a waste of time. I take a deep breath and fill my lungs with air.
While this is a game, it still feels real. Sensations are the same, and feeling the wind blow across my clothes and skin clears my mind. "Did you hear? The leader of Broken Skull has got an Epic grade sword. Talk about luck!" Players walk by, and I hear the topic of their conversation. Broken Skull is a guild that's famous in the VRMMORPG world.
The guild leader's name is Liam Petterson. He's 31 at this point in time, and he's regarded as one of the best leaders in the guild scene. He runs a guild that's worth more than most small countries. That's enough time wasted, I make my way towards Tesha's shop, and I see the sign saying it's open. She thinks and talks like a real person, and I can't treat her like a computer.
The inside of the shop has shelves of potions and ingredients. All of them are pretty high quality. It should be expected of an Exotic Grade Alchemist. "My, it's been a while since someone so handsome has come into my shop..." Her voice is young and energetic and coming from the counter. I turn and see her reading from an apothecary book.
She doesn't look a day over 18, must be some potions to keep her looking young. She's 42 at this point. She smiles at my approach. I keep an even and neutral face. "You have some of the blackest hair I've ever seen... And those eyes! Hazel has never been so vibrant to me!" What I remember about her is being a flirt. Glad the information is true.
She places her book to the side and crosses her arms under her hefty breasts, trying to get some sort of reaction. Nothing makes me budge. "I heard that you're one of the best Alchemists this far East of the capital. That true?" She raises an eyebrow in an amused manner. She tries to emphasize her chest once again but gives up, seeing it does not affect me.
The pipe at her side floats, and she takes a puff of tobacco. "You flatter me, young one. Many would claim that I am... However, I wouldn't say something so arrogant..." She thinks it. You can tell by the wording. She wouldn't say it, but she thinks it. "Now, what is it you might need from my humble shop?" I need to be careful with my wording.
Notable NPC's like Tesha don't just train anyone. She likes to flirt and dance around topics. A direct confrontation won't work. "Would you happen to know where I can get White Tears?" She stops smoking from her pipe and gives me an interesting look. White Tears are an ingredient that many don't even know exists. If I can show her I have knowledge, she might see potential in me.
She slowly moves her body and towards the bookshelf behind her. She pulls out a map between some books. "You going to get some White Tears, I presume?" I slowly nod my head and notice that I'm getting some interest. "They're not easy to get, and if you do, end up getting some. Come speak to me." While it's not the actual quest, it'll probably lead me to the quest I need.
She gives me the map free of charge, and I have a new quest stating that I need to head to the crystalline caves of Domeir. Near the Plates Mountains. It's about 2 days from here by foot. No way to last travel. "I'll be sure to return. Thanks for the help." She nods her head, and I make my way out of the shop. It's a good first step in the right direction.
