Chapter 37 - Battle with the Nature Avatar II

~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Location: Boss Room of The Crystalline Caves of Domeir)~~~

~~~(Date February 12th, 2297)~~~
~~~(Time: 11:03 PM)~~~

My Dark Burst and Dread Wave both connect, and the Nature Avatar screams in pain. Wasting time between attacks isn't my style, so I'm going to use this opportunity. It breaks free the gnawing of Dread Wave and its bleeding green bioluminescent liquid. We make eye contact, but I'm already using Dark Burst and Dread Wave again.

It leaps out of the way, and I match its movements. It's been severely slowed down by the heavy amounts of damage. Dread Wave really did a number. It's like the attack eats the target alive or something, completely consuming it. If it manages to break free, you see the damage done. Devin never describes his skills that well, so this is interesting to see.

Now that its overwhelming speed has been taken care of, this fight is now to my advantage. The Nature Avatar uses its abilities to manipulate the environment to lock me in place using the ground. My simple leap away stops my pursuit, so it got what it wanted. Backing me off is the point of its attacks now. It'll try and rethink knowing some of my skills now.

Better not let it think of anything for too long. Black Spear and Dark Vines are my next choice, and they prove a little more useful this time now that its speed is gone. The damage isn't as great as Dark Burst or Dread Wave, but it does the job and brings the Nature Avatars' health down to critical levels. It falls to its knees and breaths deeply.

The ragged breath of a male and female don't mix well in this situation. "You're not supposed to exist! You're cancer that'll spread to every corner of existence!" The dual female and male voice weep as it screams out its fear and concerns. My approaching footsteps cause it to fall on its back and try to crawl away. Something so big looks small now...

My eyes stare at its near featureless face, and this marks the end of my fight with the boss of The Crystalline Caves of Domeir dungeon. My aura is leaking Darkness, and it's a suffocating presence. "Whatever you say... You're free to believe that I'll bring an end to this world... Not like you'll remember me anyway..." Before it can retort, I charge up another Dark Burst.

A hole is blasted right through its chest and the wall behind the Nature Avatar. This battle went better than I expected, but it had its hiccups. Black Spear, Dark Vines, Dark Burst, Dread Wave, and Black Sheild all get 15 EXP. I get 25 EXP towards my Player Level. Dark Burst has leveled up again, and the damage is now 1200, with a mana cost of 800.

These attacks are overpowered as hell, and it makes sense, given this is probably the only Mythical Grade class in existence. I can kill bosses with levels and difficulties far higher than I should actually go for. "There isn't anything worthwhile from the boss drops, but my player lore has been upgraded some more." This was the whole point I did this dungeon.

Now that all this is handled, and I have the flower that I've come for. Time to use the Dungeon Crystal can get out of here. Once I use the crystal, I get the official notification that the lore has been added to my Player Lore tab. The blistering cold and powerful winds make me shiver. "I'm so glad I have Travelers Compass." I pull it out of my inventory and use it.

In a flash of light, I'm teleported to my destination of Kedwein, and the numbness immediately starts to go away. I will have to wait until Tesha's shop is open tomorrow, but that's no big deal. I've got a place to stay, and it's not going to cost me any gold either. It'll be fun in the next quest I get from her. The quest to unlock Alchemy is hard, but not that hard.

Today was filled with much progress, and I've already come a long way. I'm keeping up with the big guilds for now. Eventually, they'll pull away in level strength. In the end, the power gap between my class and others is too great to overcome with levels alone. As much as I hate it, I have to leave the game world. I need to get some outside time. It's good for mental health, in my opinion.
