Chapter 30 - Learning Alchemy Next

~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Date: February 9th, 2297)~~~

~~~(Time: 6:31 PM)~~~
I enter through the gates of Kedwein, and night is slowly falling on Libertas. Players all around are swarming shops and trying to sell their junk before they close for the night. "Scott!? Is that you?!" A voice I haven't heard in quite some time calls my name. I stop next to a cafe and turn to see an old friend. Elijah Leport, we went to school together and played other VRMMORPGs.
He has some people following him. It looks to be his party. Elijah and I didn't meet up again until the first Expansion dropped, so meeting him here is unexpected. "It's a small world, after all! What are you doing in Kedwein?" He places his hand on my shoulder and tries to act all buddy. My expression is relaxed and unmoving.
His efforts to bring out a reaction quit as he steps away and turns towards his friends. "These are the newest recruits to the guild I'm in, and I've been tasked to show them the ropes!" He's full of energy. I look at the players he's teaching, and none of them really stick out. All of them are probably level 1s and 2s. I could use Scan on them, but I don't need to.
Elijah told me that he joined a guild when he first started playing, but he never told me why he left. He could be one of the people that murdered me. "Elijah, I'm really busy. If you want to talk or catch up, we'll have to do it another time." Now that he's been dealt with, time to handle my next objective. Learning Alchemy. And I know just the place to go.
If Elijah ever wants to talk or catch up, he can contact me through the Friends Tab. Alchemy isn't just about making potions. That's only half of Alchemy. The other half is Recipes for things. While the Recipes Tab has James Bloats Bread Recipe in it, it'll also store Alchemy Recipes. Alchemy can really save your ass in a tough spot, and there are practical applications for it.
Once players start reaching level 30, potions will be something everyone takes in a Dungeon or Raid. While you can buy the potions you need, it'll cost a lot of money. It's cheaper and smarter to make it yourself. There is a person here in Kedwein, an Alchemist, that'll give me a quest, as well as some Recipes to go along with the reward.
Her name is Tesha Lacroix, and she's an Exotic Grade Alchemist. She can teach me up to level 5 in Alchemy, and then I'll be on my own. She has a shop here in Kedwein, but it's already closed. That means I've gotta wait until tomorrow when it opens up. Sleeping in an inn tonight is no problem for me. After searching for an hour, I find a good inn.
Once inside my room, I head over to the bed, and I lay down. Today has been a long day. I've got so much done, and at the rate I'm moving. I'll be far ahead of any solo player at this point in the game. Cleared Grant's Dungeon, Cleared Greedy Goblins Dungeon, and got Blacksmithing and Armoring unlocked and in my skills.
All of this in a day, and tomorrow I'm going to be just as busy. Once I get that quest, I will get as much done as I can towards it. I've decided that I won't be rerunning Greedy Goblins Dungeon until I'm about to leave Kedwein. If I end up needing more gold while I'm here, I'll rerun the Dungeon and get another supply.
For now, I'm going to sleep and setting my in-game alarm for 7 AM. That's when Tesha Lacroix's shop opens. I have plans in motion, and once I'm done getting the Alchemy skill. I'm hitting Forest Gnome Dungeon for some blueprints. After that, I'm going to craft my first custom gear this time around. I meet the Level 2 requirement for Armoring and Blacksmithing to use the blueprint.
