~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Date: February 8th, 2297)~~~

~~~(Time: 6:05 AM)~~~
I didn't sleep in-game at all this time around. My mind and thoughts are haunted by what I experienced in the dungeon. That dungeon isn't something I'll ever be going back to. I'll be steering clear of any dungeons that mess with your mind from now on. The sun is just starting to rise, and I look at the clock in the room. It's 6:06, and I've got a bit of a journey ahead of me. The abandoned town of Nettleton. It's going to take me at least a day to reach on foot. I'll see about getting a horse at the very least. Maybe the villagers will be kind enough to give me one.
They've been treating me great so far. I doubt they have anything, though. I stand up from the bed and look down at my black clothes. Fitting considering my class. I didn't pay attention until this point. I make my way toward the door to the room, and I exit. The party ended around midnight last night. I wasn't able to sleep either way. Not after what happened... I walk down the stairs, and I see the innkeeper isn't at the bar. It must have turned in after everyone left. I make my way towards the exit, and I make it outside.
There is a slight chill in the air, but it's not freezing. Where am I going to find a ride out of here? That's one of the downsides of spawning in a remote place such as Horris. A village doesn't have a teleportation gate, but I know for a fact that Nettleton will have one. Even though the town is abandoned, I can fix the teleportation gate. I'll have to do it via quest from seeing it not working. So I have to get into Nettleton and find the teleportation gate. It's the fastest way to get around apart from airships and personal flying creatures.
Nettleton is a 45-mile journey from here, and that's a low number when you have something to ride. On foot, that's a long distance. I look down the two directions of the dirt roads path, and no one is awake yet. That's odd because most farmers are up at dawn. The party last night must have signified something. Perhaps a vacation or something? No matter, I make my way down the road towards the exit of the city. I can see something off in the distance. It's a single carriage. I look around even more, and I can't find anyone that'd have horses.
That means I'm walking. I don't have a problem with that. When I said that it'd take at least a day, I was exaggerating a bit. Walking without taking any breaks is 14 hours and some change. Assuming I walk an averages adult's speed of 3 to 4 miles an hour. Simple math. Since there's no reason for me to stay here, I start walking down the path. I hear shouting coming from the direction of the carriage. I squint my eyes to see what's happening up ahead. Some bandits are attacking the carriage. I didn't know there were bandits this close to Horris.
I start to job my way to get closer, and as I watch the bandits pull out a full-on family, I start to run. A mother, a father, and 3 kids. All of which are girls. I'm approaching quickly, and my loud steps against the dirt and gravel grab the attention of the bandits. They let go of the family and turn towards me as I stand in front of the carriage now. "Don't come any closer. Not unless you want to get cut." I don't have the scan skill yet. You unlock it at level 2. I'm still level 1. If I had to guess, their levels can't be higher than 4.
Meaning that their health caps out at 4 hundred. You gain 100 health per level and 10 mana, but I'll be getting 100 mana per level since I'm Darkness Incarnate. Equal to my health. Every creature follows this rule. Be it a demon, vampire, werewolf, dragon. Only 100 health and 10 mana per level up. It's how things work around here. My eyes glide over to the family, and the father is doing his best to shield his family. I stare coldly at the 3 bandits. This is a perfect chance to try out one of my new skills. I lift my right hand and point my index finger at the 3.
Before they can say anything, I use the skill Dark Burst, and a Jet Black Ball begins to form with dark energy spiraling like a galaxy at the tip of my right index finger as the ball grows in size. It grows until it reaches the size of a basketball. My mana is drained, and 600 is taken away. I unleash the attack at the shocked bandits, and the Jet Black Ball explodes out and expands to the same Diameter equivalent to a monster truck tire. The attack stops, and the bandits are gone, I get plus 5 EXP for Dark Burst. Nothing remains of them. I turn to the scared family. I reach out to help, but the father smacks my hand away.
