Cedric
I ran and ran through the dense forest, I had to release the tension from my body- after Rain went with Zevrus to God knows where to have a 'private conversation' I felt my blood boiling, I shifted into my wolf form and bolted to the forest ignoring Cyprus' calls for me to wait.
I finally reached a pond, sitting down on my butt I took deep breaths and evened my breath, I started reeling the conversation we all had before Rain and Zevrus walked away, now that Zevrus is back, it means that my relationship with Rain is in danger, Zevrus will definitely want her back- I saw it in his eyes, but what scares me more, is that I saw it in her eyes too.
I started to think about Rain, all her smiles, her goofy laughs, her puffy eyes when she cried, her hair when she twirled it as she daydreamed and most of all, her scent, the scent that could make me question my ability to control my wolf and myself. I sighed and laid back on the grass, closing my eyes, I thought more about Rain until I drifted to sleep.
Rain
Zevrus and I talked and talked and talked, the whole time I felt like I couldn't get enough of him, it's like all the black clouds that covered my eyes were gone and I could finally see him clearly and better than ever. We talked about all the events that had happened while he was gone, then we moved on to brighter subjects- he told about his mother, what the relationship with his father was like, and I told him all about my family- well, late family.
after what felt like two hours, the pain in my back finally got me, I couldn't sit straight in the cold anymore, we walked back to the main house, on the way I told him about Darious and his story with the hunters, we laughed- and I know that Darious is going to kill me if he knew I told Zevrus his embarrassing story.
"oh my God, you should've seen his face when I laughed at his story," I said between laughs, Zevrus' smile was absolutely mesmerizing, with that dimple he had on the side of his mouth, I couldn't take my eyes off of him, when we reached the main house he raised his hand and caressed my cheek "I'm happy to see you smiling and laughing" I blushed and looked away, just in time to see Cedric standing between the trees in the darkness, his golden eyes were piercing a hole right through my soul, "what's wrong?" Zevris's voice dragged my attention back to him, I looked at the tree line again, but the golden eyes were gone, I shuddered "uh, yeah, listen I'm really tired, I should go inside and get some rest" Zevrus studied my face for a second, he looked towards the tree line then back at me, his smile was back on and he pulled me into a hug it wasn't a tight hug due to my back injuries, but it filled me with warmth and I inhaled the familiar scent of wildflowers and pine trees- I instantly relaxed and when pulled apart I kissed him on the cheek, Zevrus' eyes turned into saucers and he touched his cheek in shock, I realized what I did and practically turned into a tomato then rushed inside the main house straight to my room.
Zevrus
I felt like I'm thirteen again, standing outside my girl's house like an idiot with my hand on my cheek where her beautiful lips kissed me, that simple action coming from my mate made me feel like I'm on cloud nine, it was like I had a scratch and she kissed the pain goodbye, and the memory of her flushed face made me smile to myself. I sighed and turned around only to come face to face with Cedric who stood there with folded arms and his signature scowl "well? had your fun yet?" I smirked "I was only getting started" he growled "I know what you're planning little brother, it's not gonna happen" I raised a brow "is that so? and what exactly is it that I'm planning?" he scowled harder "stay away from Rain, or else" I let out a hollow laugh "jese brother, you scared me- or else what? you'll kill me?" he dropped his hands into fists on his sides "I'll banish you" I smiled and nodded "hmmm, you know Cedric? I'm starting to think that you're not satisfied with my return, did I ruin your grand plan with my mate?" he took a step forward "careful, Zevrus, you are playing with fire, don't taunt me" I crossed my arms and shook my head "Cedric, let's drop the alpha bullshit for a second and have a brother to brother talk" Cedric kept his scowl on and didn't respond, I sighed "look, I know that there's been a huge misunderstanding-" he cut me "the fuck are you talking about?" I pursed my lips "it was all my plan, in fact, I wanted this to happen, brother" he shook his head "what are saying?" I sighed and looked around, I located a bench across the open area "let's sit down and have a proper talk" Cedric looked in the direction of the bench and looked thoughtful for a second, but then he nodded and started walking towards it.
Rain
I laid in my bed, staring at the ceiling with a huge smile on my face, Zevrus had an amazing personality. This is the first time that I got the chance to have a proper talk with him ever since I met him and my life turned into complete chaos. I was so happy with Zevrus being alive and back where he belongs. I sighed and closed my eyes, but then I saw a flash of golden eyes, I opened my eyes again, and my smile slipped away. Now that Zevrus is back, what will happen to Cedric and me?
I bit my lip and felt dread build in my stomach, Cedric is my mate, but so is Zevrus- Cedric marked me, but a sick part of me wants to be marked by Zevrus too. I blushed and shoved the thought deep in my head, then I turned off the lights and settled in my bed to get some sleep.
I tossed and turned for a while, every time I closed my eyes I saw Golden ones staring back at me, and every time I opened my eyes green ones would invade my vision 'urgh!' I gingerly got up and winced as I felt a sharp sting in my back, but I didn't care, I had to talk to someone about this- and I know exactly who- Darious.
