Rain
Yesterday, my trip with Darious to the city took more time than I planned. Instead of approximately three hours, it actually took the whole day, so I decided that it would be better to wait till the next day- after all, I was exhausted and preferred to go to the quarters when I was well rested and energetic.
Today, I got up early and prepared myself for the grand plan that's up ahead. I had chosen the role of a government agent for myself, that way they would let me inside without many questions, I had googled the names of the government agents that work with the R.A.W agency and found the name that suited me the most - Tara Williams. The only problem is that I don't have any card or ID that confirms the identity, I guess I would have to gamble and try to sneak around and find a way to get inside without being confronted by security. While choosing my clothes, I decided to go with dress pants and a button up shirt, then came my heels. I put on a light coat of makeup and styled my hair.
Closing my room door behind me, I started to descend the stairs when a whiff of cinnamon, I slowly turned around and faced Cedric's room, the door was open and I could see the papers still scattered inside and the broken window as well. I walked slowly to his room and entered it , taking a look around I studied the large bed with the black covers, the dark wood of the closet and the closed bathroom door, I walked to the closet and opened it - instantly I was engulfed in the scent of cinnamon and vanilla, it overwhelmed me and my eyes teared up. I reached out for one of his shirts ,holding it in my hands, I brought it up to my nose and inhaled deeply "oh Cedric, if only you knew how much I miss you" I murmured, my eyes fell on a small picture jutting put from between the folded shirts , I pulled it out and saw what looked like a younger Cedric smiling broadly, between his as he was holding a girl- she had red hair and beautiful green eyes and a wide smile while her hands held Cedric's engulfing arms, "Tyla" I whispered. I smiled at the cute picture and put it back in its place, I felt my heart swell with determination "I'm going to get you out of there Cedric, Zevrus- hold on".
I gathered all the scattered papers and put them back in their drawers, then I tidied the room as much as possible before getting out and closing the door.
Downstairs, I made a mug of coffee and started to drink, looking at my new bought watch I noticed it was almost nine a.m, Cyprus is supposed to be here any minute now. Sure enough, there was a knock on the door and Cyprus got inside "good morning" he greeted but with a solemn expression , I studied him and chuckled "well, it doesn't look like you're having a good morning though" he didn't find my retort amusing , his expression remained blank as he stared at me, I cleared my throat and turned serious "good morning to you too" he shook his head " Rain, I'm regretting this decision already, I can't let you go there all by yourself" I shrugged "I'm not going by myself - Shadow and numbers are going with me, remember?" He scowled "I'm serious, please give this plan a second thought" I sighed and closed my eyes "Cyprus, I've been thinking about this plan for a long enough, I'm getting Cedric and Zevrus back even if it cost me my life". When I opened my eyes Cyprus was looking at me with a strange look , it was almost sympathetic, he stepped closer to me and I stiffened as he invaded my personal space, his hands came up and cupped the sides of my face , I stared at with wide eyes and he studied my face, "I just don't know what I would do if anything happens to you" he spoke ina silky voice, I opened my mouth to say something, but the shock had me wordless,he brushed the back of hins against my cheek - which by now was beet red "you came her, and brought life with you, when you spoke to me I felt like something missing from me was finally restored- though I never did notice it missing from the beginning" his face drew closer to mine in attempt to kiss me , but just his lips were inches from mine, Zevrus' voice came rushing through my head I wonder how long it would've taken till Cyprus, Darious and the others kissed you too, I gasped and snapped of it, I pushed Cyprus back " I-I can't". Cyprus grew rigid and seemed to snap out if his haze as well, he blushed slightly and looked dumbfounded "shit, I- I'm so sorry Rain, I don't know what came over me" I raised my hand as a gesture for him to stop "let's just focus on the plan,where are Shadow and Numbers?" He blinked several times then composed himself "uh, they are outside, waiting for you" I nodded then headed outside, the air was crisp and cold, luckily I put on a coat before heading out, Shadow and Numbers were having a conversation when I walked out to them "good morning guys" they both nodded, I extended my arm towards the wood line "shall we?".
As we walked through the woods , I listened to the sounds of nature, the woods were slowly coming to life, birds, chipmunks and other small animals, bet when ever we approach a certain area, everything went quiet down until we pass, I figured it's the way animals protect themselves whenever predator is around.
I closed my eyes, instantly Cyprus' eyes came through and I blushed hard as I remembered the situation back at the main house , then it hit me, I was so embarrassed and shocked that I didn't even say goodbye properly. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose, why would he try to kiss me? He said the he didn't know what came over him, and I really don't understand his motive, his words I don't know what I would do if anything happens to you, did he mean that? Maybe he's just too worried about my safety, maybe he said that to trigger my emotional side- one thing is for sure, Cyprus was everything but a heartly guy, he was tough and rough, but not as rough as Cedric, nor emotional and sensitive like Zevrus, he was something in between.
I shook my head and shoved the whole situation into the back of mind, right now I needed to focus on the mission, but as long as it's quiet there's no way that I wouldn't conjure the idea of Cyprus trying to kiss me back again. Clearing my throat I tried having a small talk with the guys " guys? How long till we reach our destination?" Shadow grunted and looked around "we're pretty deep in the woods but still pretty far from the quarters" I sighed and stopped to remove my heels. I kicked myself inwardly for not bringing a pair of sneakers to walk easily in the woods. I carried my heels in my hand as we continued on our way "so, are you guys married? Any kids?" Shadow frowned in confusion"married?" Numbers chuckled "as in having a mate?" Shadows brows furrowed in understanding "oh, that" his features morphed into sadness "I used to have one, but she left me for human, and later she died" I felt a pang in my heart "Oh shadow, I'm so sorry." He sighed and nodded, I knew I shouldn't , but my curiosity made me want to know the whole story "if I may ask, why did she leave you for a human?" He shook his head "it was years ago, I saw her in a coffee shop, back then we could still mingle with humans without being noticed, anyway, she used to work as a waitress, I met her and asked her out. We got along pretty well, but when she found out I was a werewolf she was too frightened, it took me sometime to get heet to understand my nature and that I wasn't harmful- I would die before I would hurt her."
He sighed again '' after a while, she graduated college and met this guy, she started to talk about him alot, then she dumped me, she said that our relationship was making her tired and anxious all the time. I tried convincing her to give me a chance, and she was pregnant with my baby, but she said that this guy didn't mind her being pregnant anyway, and she left." I felt so bad for shadow "I'm so sorry, what was her name?" He sighed "Veronica" I stopped, that's my mother's name, what are the chances? I gulped "and what's the guy's name?" He drawled "Landon: I gasped and covered my mouth, Numbers frowned "what's the matter?" I stared at him in horror "that's my mother".
