Rain
Darious and I stare at Cyprus, and he notices our confusion, so he explains to us that there's a spy who possibly ratted about the location of the pack's area to the R.A.Ws and possibly about me being alive and hidden here. Everything started to click in its place and I understood the whole situation. Now Cyprus is definitely going to be busy with figuring where Jud is and my plan would be his last priority, I sigh and lower my head.
Cyprus grunts "Rain? what did you want to tell me?" I looked at Darious who nodded as an encouragement for me to go on, I cleared my throat and squared my shoulders "Cyprus, I wanted to tell you that I got everything I need to change my look, tomorrow I will be a different person" he scowls and opens his mouth but I raise my hand "no, listen to me, tomorrow I am going to the main R.A.Ws quarters with or without your help" he shakes his head and runs a hand through his hair "why are you making life hard for me?" I smile at him "I'm not, I'm actually trying to make your life easier, because as long as Cedric and Zevrus aren't here, you will be holding the responsibility of the whole pack all alone".
Cyprus stays quiet for a few agonizing moments, but then he raises his gaze and locks it with mine "are you sure you want this? after every threat I told you about?" I nod "I am aware of the risk, but I can't stay here while they are there suffering" he nods "alright, what do you want me to do?", I squeal and hug him tightly "thank you so much" I pull away from him and look at Darious "I need someone to escort me to the city tomorrow morning" then at Cyrpus "and once I'm back, I'm gonna need someone to escort me to the main quarters- once I'm done, I'll come back by myself"Cyprus scratches his jaw and thinks about it, then he raises his head "done" I nod at him then look at Darious, he chuckles "done, sweetcheeks" .
the day passes by as I take my time in changing my whole features, I start with my hair, grabbing the scissors Darious bought for me, I say goodbye to my shoulder length waves and cut my hair short, all the way to my jaw line , then I reach back and cut some more on the nape- now I almost look like a woman who works in an office, then I reach for the dye, I bleach my hair and wait for it to be ready for toner, the end result is truly amazing, it's fascinating how your hair can change your profile outside and inside, I grab my beloved blow dryer and brush, then I style my hair- creating volume and feathery effects. When I'm done I lean closer to the mirror and stare at myself in the mirror, the innocent natural curly hair is long gone, the virgin girl is no longer a virgin, I'm staring at a strong woman who's got determination to get back her family- Cedric and Zevrus and everyone else here, they are all my family.
taking a deep breath I smile to myself in the mirror and run a hand through my now ash blonde hair, it's fluffy and full of voluminous , now I need to focus on my face, I take the tweezers and do my eyebrows, next I grab an eyebrow pencil and create a higher arch in my brows- reflecting extra confidence and power, last thing is a small winged eyeliner. By the time I'm done, it's pretty late, I crawl into bed and fall asleep.
Next morning I woke up to the sound of guys talking downstairs. I look out the window, it's pretty grey outside, no sunshine today. I get out of bed and prepare myself for the day, wearing casual jeans with a long sleeve button shirt, leaving enough undone buttons to show a little cleavage , then I touch up my hair and eyeliner, ready to go. as I descend the stairs I can hear Cyprus giving orders and then I see Darious who's facing away from me "good morning" , everyone looks at me and silence fills the whole place, Darious' mouth is wide open, while Cyprus stairs at me with slightly parted lips and a surprised look, I feel myself blush and look at the other two guys, they are staring at me almost not blinking , I clear my throat and look away.
Darious is the first to say something "holy chicken nuggets!" I blush deeply and he continues "who are you and what have you done with Rain?" I giggle and take his outstretched hand, he twirls me around and lets out a whistle, I giggle and swat his shoulder "stop it already", I look at Cyprus "so, what do you think? Do I look different?" he closes his mouth and clears his throat "uh, yeah, you look beautiful, I mean, urgh, shit" he turns around and gestures towards the two guys "these are Shadow and Numbers, they will be your escorters to the main quarters" I look at them and nod "it's a pleasure to meet you guys" they grunt and look away, I notice Shadow's cheeks slightly turn pink. I study him, he has light skin, wide honey brown eyes, strong jaw and a light stubble, just like everybody else- he is tall and masculine. Numbers has a leaner body structure, dirty blonde hair and a clean shaved face, his eyes are light green, I notice him studying me as well, when I lock eyes with him he nods and smiles at me.
After breakfast and coffee, Darious and I head to the city, the whole way I almost prance with excitement. It's been so long since I visited civilization, I needed so many things, wax, soap, shampoo, and some clothes and shoes. Cyprus was generous enough to give me a wad of hundreds. When I asked him where they get their money from, he winked at me and said not to worry about it, I shrugged and went with the flow. Darious walks next to me with his hands in his pockets, wearing sunglasses to cover his eyes, but I could feel his eyes on me every once in a while, finally I smiled at him "what?" he shrugs "nothing, just thinking about changing courses with you" I raise my brows "what's that supposed to mean" he chuckles "I mean, I want to get out of the friend zone and actually climb all over you" I gasp and blush beet red "oh my God, Darious! don't ever say that again" he laughs "you look like an icicle that I had the last time I was here, yellow and red" I actually laugh and punch his shoulder "oh shut up!".
We laugh and talk until we reach the mall. I buy everything that I need, with Darious awkwardly standing by my side and looking at everything I'm buying, but luckily he didn't know half of the things I bought or what they are used for. Next I go into a clothing shop- I buy some formal clothing, pencil skirts, dress pants and button shirts, blazers, jackets, then I buy some heels.
I stop at another shop and buy myself some winter clothes, long sleeve shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and pajamas , and of course, some slippers.
Darious and I grab some street food, it was so delicious, I had one hotdog while Darious had seven, the trailer owner stared at him awkwardly as her almost swallowed the hot dog instead of chewing them, I nudged him with my elbow "slow down" he shrugged "what? I'm hungry" . By the end of the day we get back to the main house, I walk in and find Cyprus sitting on the couch, when Darious walks in with all the bags after me, Cyprus looks at him confused , Darious shook his head "don't ask".
