"I'm tired", she softly whispered as she set on the mossy earth, "But I'm not giving up".
Her pale face was full of determination as her amethyst eyes gazed beyond the land as she set atop the mountain. Her silver hair was almost devoured by the inky black but she wouldn't let it turn fully dark.
"It would be a waste if I gave up now", she squeezed her hands together, "I have spent my whole life trying to survive in this world. And I will NOT let a mere human overpower me!!".
The young female set beside her in awe and confusion. Her ocean blue eyes squinted slightly as she thought about the elf's word. She started scratching her arms till her sunkissed skin bled.
"Now now", the elf laughed as she placed her cold hand on the child's to make her stop scratching, "There is no need to think about it too much".
The child gazed up at her silently making the elf smile. "I'm glad you're here with me", she whispered in the child's ears as she picked her up. "You're the only thing that keeps me sane in this dreadful world", she gently waved her hand over the child's bleeding arm, healing it in an instant. She placed her forehead to the child's as the young females eyes slowly started to close, "Without you, I'd have lost myself in darkness long ago".
The child's blue eyes snapped open as she heard her words, she again tilted her head in confusion. The elf ran her long fingers throw the child's gold woven hair. 'You'll understand when you're older', she hummed as they walked through the enchanting forest.
Fairies flew by and giggled at the child's sparkling eyes. The elf, chuckled as well and placed the girl on the ground and watched as she chased the fairies around with her outstretched arms. The forest emitted into twinkly bells of laughter as the child chased after the glowing fairies.
Soon the child became tired of chasing these mischievous creatures and ran back into the women's arm. She snuggled into her robes which smelled of lilacs and nature, gazing up in the women's eyes then her pointy ears. Chubby fingers grasped her elf ears and giggled as they felt their fuzz and pointyness.
"Come child, it's time to rest", the silver elf urged as she floated to a small cottage high up in the tree's. Placing the sleeping child in to bed she stroked her silky hair. 'If only the child looked more like me and not like him', she sighed sadly. "Goodnight..... my sweet little flower", she whispered as she kissed the child's forehead.
Walking out of the cottage, the woman gazed at the land below her. The wind had picked up as the creatures in the forest stirred restlessly. "Somthings coming", she said to herself. Her eyes flashed dangerously at the thought of it being that human. He had tormented and broken her so much, at least, that's what he thought.
"Dear Alastair", she whispered hauntingly, "You cant break something that's already broken".
