"I need you to give me your dragon's word first before I tell you," Sabrina told Dashen. He narrowed his eyes.
"You need to tell me first before I give my word," he said.
If he keeps on like this, they will be at an impasse.
"Come on Dashen, surely you love Meera and your kids enough not to force them into anything, right?"
He sighed.
"Fine, I give you my dragon's word that I will not force Meera and my children into anything they don't want," he said.
Now it was her turn to regard him suspiciously. How and why did he give in so easily?
"Your absolute word that if you turn against it meant that you will lose all your powers?" she said tentatively.
He sighed heavily.
"Yes, my absolute word. Anything for Meera and my children, so now, out with it? What devious plan are you up to now?"
"I need you to cure someone of cancer," she said.
"Well, bring him over, I will do it for you, I don't see why I need to give you my word about Meera and my children," he said, perplexed.
"It just doesn't make sense. Why would I force them to do anything...if I am curing your boyfriend of cancer?"
"It's not Kavan," she said.
It was as if a light bulb was switched on. She can literally see it turning on from the ways his eyes changed.
"Is it my kids??? Which one?? Wait…that can't be…I check them regularly…" he said then he stopped.
Sabrina gasped.
"You checked them? Wait, does Meera know???"
"Please don't tell her…I only do it out of concern for them…"
"I thought she gave a stipulation that you must never use your powers to scan her and the children's bodies without permission?"
He shrugged sheepishly.
"She didn't specifically forbid me from scanning the children…sometimes she does ask me to check on them so I figured, I can check even when she didn't ask me to, they are my children too you know,"
Sabrina wanted to laugh at this. It was her first time seeing him look so guilty.
"No, wait, since it can't be the children…Meera???" the realisation dawned on him now. His face was filled with shock.
"It can't be…not my Meera!" He buried his face in his hands. Then he looked up.
"Wait, if she becomes immortal, there won't be any problems anymore," he said.
Sabrina rolled her eyes.
"You gave your dragon's word that you won't force it!" she reminded him.
He gave a loud humph.
"Fine. I'll go back over there and heal her without forcing her to accept immortality, happy?" he said reluctantly. "What the hell was wrong with immortality…these humans…ughhh…" he muttered as he got up.
"Wait, wait…Dashen…" she stopped him again.
"What now?" he stopped. "There can't be more after this bomb you drop on me!"
"There is another bomb…although I would say it is more of a good news than a bad news kind of bomb," she said.
He sat down again and braced himself for her 'good news'. His expression made it seem like he was waiting for his death sentence to be read out to him.
"It's about Xin Yi…"
"What about her? She's only eight! She can't have cancer too? I didn't know cancer is infectious?"
"No, no, no…"
"Well then? Did she break something? Took something she's not supposed to? What? Honestly, if it's about discipline, you don't have to be so dramatic about it, just tell Meera and she will know how to punish them," he said, irritated.
"Dashen, just let me finish talking, for dragons' sake!"
He clamped up and looked at her.
"Xin Yi is a dragon, she got her powers…wait, let me finish," she glared at him when he opened his mouth to interrupt.
"She has divining powers and she has powers way beyond that of a new dragon but she is still so young, I don't think you should send her off to the sea jade palace,"
"Can I talk now?" he asked sarcastically when she stopped talking. She nodded.
"Firstly, why are you the first one to find out about this? Secondly, this is not up for negotiations, she must go to the sea jade palace, an untrained young dragon with strong powers is very dangerous in his human realm and thirdly, divining powers?? How do you know?"
"Firstly, may I remind you that you gave your dragon's word and Xin Yi doesn't want to be sent off to the sea jade palace, secondly, she has such good controls of her powers that she is not a danger to anyone, you didn't even detect her powers at all, that's how good she is at hiding it and I will help to school her too and thirdly, yes, divining powers, I saw her use it myself,"
Dashen was silent for a while. He sat there, deep in contemplation for several minutes.
"That was why you made me give my word," he said.
She nodded smugly and smirked at him.
"You know how I can plan things to everyone's advantage," she replied.
His eyes suddenly widened when he realised something.
"Is that why there are huge surge of powers coming from here???"
Took him long enough to realise that, Sabrina thought.
"Yes, that's Xin Yi, not me, I am powerless, remember?"
"Fine, I need to see my future wife and daughter now, so are you done? Or do you have some secret to drop about Zi An too?" he stood up again, looking at her warily.
She shook her head.
"You are free to go, just remember to settle our human divorce papers," she reminded him. He nodded tersely and walked out of her quarters hurriedly.
She had told Meera about Xin Yi and her plan on how to manage Dashen. Looks like her plan worked after all. Each and every single one of it worked! She will be a free woman, in the human world at least, very soon!
She quickly texted Meera to tell her that the plan worked and that Dashen is on his way back. Then she gave Kavan a call.
"It is settled, I am getting a divorce and it should be soon because Dashen and Meera are getting married!" she told him the moment he picked up. He gave a loud whoop on the other end.
"Come on over, babe, I think we should celebrate!" he said.
He doesn't have to ask twice. She hang up and called for an e-hailing ride.
When she arrived at his flat, it was almost lunch time but food was the last thing on their minds as they fell into each other's arms and started tearing each other's clothes off. Their lips smashed together, tongues duelled and hands were everywhere, touching, caressing, rubbing and squeezing. They were both panting as they divested the last piece of clothing, grinding against each other.
He hoisted her up against his hips and entered her in one smooth motion. They both moaned as he filled her entirely. He pounded into her rhythmically, pushing her back against the closed front door, making a loud thumping sound at each thrust. They have not even made it past the living room but they did not care.
It was a frantic and urgent coupling, one that they both desperately needed. Sabrina needed to feel Kavan's hard and warm body on hers, him buried deep inside her and Kavan wanted to lose himself in her moist softness, slaking an insatiable craving he always had for her. Sabrina is like a drug he was so addicted to that he must simply have a taste of her every day. The fast and frantic lovemaking brought them over the edge fast, Sabrina biting into his neck in her explosive release while he followed shortly, shuddering and emptying into her.
Afterwards, both of them, sweaty and still panting slightly, slowly picked up their clothes, some of which are torn, and collapsed on the sofa together in a tangle of hands and legs.
"Please marry me Kavan, I thoroughly need that every day, I can't imagine spending even a single a day without you," Sabrina said. She lay partially on him, snuggling against his smooth hard chest.
"You were gone for a couple days…" he said.
"That was too long for me," she replied. He chuckled and kissed the top of her head.
"Shouldn't I be the one proposing?" he asked casually.
"Get with the times Kav, a woman can propose too," she retorted.
"Fine, where are my flowers, ring and why aren't you on your knees?" he asked teasingly.
She raised herself up on him and glared at him.
"Aren't you the demanding one?"
He shrugged and gestured at his lean, muscled naked body.
"I do have a whole host of women who would do anything for me…so…"
She rolled off him.
"I don't have a ring or flowers but I sure can get on my knees…" she said. She knelt before him and took his soft manhood deep into her mouth. He immediately hardened inside her mouth.
"Sab…." He moaned.
Then someone knocked on his door.
"Kavan? Are you home?"
"Sab, stop…" he half moaned as he tried to stop her. "Someones…ahhh….at…the…ohhh..ssstttoooppp…"
The knocking continued in earnest.
Sabrina released him and glared at the door in annoyance. Why do people have to knock on the door when they are in the middle of something?? Can that be his mother again? What does she want again?
"Can we just ignore whoever it is? Let's take this to our room," she suggested, then she bent to wrap her lips around his erection again but he avoided her. He quickly pulled on his sweat pants, making a tent at the crotch area.
"We have to open the door, Sab," he said.
She groaned in frustration.
"Ughh…whoever it is, they better have a good reason to be here!" she said.
