Fortunately Reesha left and went home a few days later. But it also meant that they only have a couple more days before they too have to go down to Kuala Lumpur to meet Kavan's family. Sabrina is nervous. She doesn't know how his family would react to her. Her human form is not only of a different ethnicity to Kavan's but she is literally a different species. She is not even fully human. Not that she plans to tell his family that. This is something she's not supposed to tell any other human except for her human mate. This much she knows about their clan's strict rules and regulations.
Sabrina and Kavan has fixed a wedding date. Sort of. She had called Dashen to check on the progress of their divorce in the human court system. It was a mess. The human lawyer told him that it could take up to six months to finalise even though it was a no contest divorce. This is not good. They do not have time. She was honest with Kavan about it and he came up with a solution. They could have a cultural wedding celebration first but only sign the legal documentations after her divorce with Dashen is finalised. It is just like how she planned the divorce with Dashen. Do it in the human world without the dragon clan's knowledge. This wedding to Kavan will be a celebration, a party, without the dragon clan's knowledge and without it being legal in the human world until her divorce with Dashen is finalised.
"Wouldn't your family be suspicious? Don't they want to see the official marriage document as proof of our marriage?" she asked.
"I will give them some excuses…or distract them, maybe they will be so distracted with the large wedding celebration, they won't even bother to ask for the legal documents," he said.
So, with that in mind. They set the wedding date exactly three months away. A June wedding.
"Do I have to prepare anything to meet your family? Gifts? Gold? Diamonds? Precious stones?" she asked Kavan.
He laughed.
"All they cared about is the family fortune, just me getting married will be good enough for them," he said.
"Hmm…maybe we should continue with our baby making efforts…" she suggested lewdly, reaching out to grab him on his crotch. They are sitting together in his living room after lunch.
"I have a class in an hour so much as I would love to…we have to defer it till later," he said.
"Aww…party pooper!"
He grinned at her.
"You are insatiable," he said. "You will soon drain me of everything at this rate,"
"No way! You are way too young and virile to be drained of anything," she quipped.
He chuckled and kissed her deeply.
"There, this should hold you for a while," he said. Both of them are panting from the kiss.
He seemed in a good mood. Sabrina used this opportunity to strike.
"Since we are getting married…tell me about Reesha," she said casually.
"Really? You just won't let it go?"
"Come on…I am curious, maybe just a little bit? Okay, one thing, did you two ever sleep together?"
"If I tell you, promise me you won't get all jealous and mad," Kavan said.
"Okay, fine, out with it," she promised. It was the past. There was absolutely nothing to be jealous about. They are getting married anyway. And he is her perfect match. He wouldn't go off with another human. It is unheard of.
"She was my first love and at one point, I actually thought I was deeply in love with her and that I would marry her," he started.
Sabrina regretted pushing him to tell her about Reesha. She didn't need to hear this. It was painful. Reesha was his first love! Is he even over her?
"We never did sleep together…she has always maintained that she wanted to remain a virgin until marriage," he said.
Sabrina rolled her eyes. She finds it hard to believe. Reesha definitely has Kavan believing in her fake innocent image. That little minx has probably slept with every man she came across and still can put on an innocent virginal act.
"Is that why you looked at her that way in the studio? She's the one who got away?" she asked, almost bitterly. She couldn't stop herself from sounding jealous. An ex-girlfriend is nothing but a first love? That's something else.
"No! No! You misunderstood!" Kavan protested. He rubbed his nape nervously. "You know how my mother was on your case about child-bearing hips?"
Sabrina nodded. She could never forget Kavan's mother and her sneer when she found out that Sabrina didn't have a 'good family background'.
"Well, I suddenly noticed that Reesha has small hips…hardly child-bearing so what was my mother on about when she inspected you?"
Sabrina think back to Reesha's tiny frame. Kavan's right. She is petite with small hips. Kavan's mother was insistent that he marry Reesha too. And she went on and on about heirs and such. Shouldn't she have found fault with Reesha's small hips as not being large enough to be 'child bearing' material?
"So it was all just for show?" she asked Kavan. Something doesn't gel right. He shrugged.
"I don't know what's going on…I have a feeling this producing heir thing is a ruse, there must be something more," he said.
"Wait, you've not finished your story about Reesha, please don't change the subject," Sabrina steered the conversation back to his story of first love.
"To put it in a nutshell, the so-called first love was just a teenage crush…we only dated a couple years when we were 18 up to 20 and then I realised we just don't have the spark," he said.
"Well…that's disappointing…no huge arguments? No walking in on her giving your best friend a blow job? Or her sleeping with your friends? Nothing?" she asked hopefully.
He chuckled.
"You really don't like her, do you?"
"Well, if only you can see it. She is as fake as my marriage to Dashen," she said. "It was so obvious she still has a thing for you, spark or no spark,"
"If you must know…yes, I did find out that she was seeing a friend of mine on the side at the same time when she was dating me, though I don't think she slept with him either," he said.
Ahh. She was right. That conniving two-timing minx.
"I'll bet she slept with him and a ton of your friends behind you back," she said.
"Well, it's all now water under the bridge, I don't really care who she slept with, it would appear my so-called first love wasn't even love," he shrugged.
"Who I care about now is you, you are my only love, no one else matters,"
Sabrina's heart thrilled at that. Everything else was forgotten. Eat your heart out Reesha, she thought. She reached over and kissed Kavan.
"And you are mine too, you are the only one for me for the rest of my immortal life," she told him.
What they didn't know is that a storm is brewing. Things may not pan out as they planned.
