Chereads / A Dragon & Her Yoga Teacher / Chapter 36 - On the run

Chapter 36 - On the run

The moment Sabrina got back to the human realm, she pushed Kavan to immediately travel back to Kuala Lumpur and meet his family. She needs to go into hiding and going somewhere else that she normally does not frequent in the human realm is her best bet from being detected by the council of elders. She dared not use even a little bit of her powers to prevent detection by the elders. Even a tiny bit of power can give away her location.

Kavan had good-naturedly agreed to her rush to Kuala Lumpur. They were initially supposed to travel down in two days' time but moving it two days earlier was not a problem. Kavan sent out a notice to his customers about the studio closing for a short break, earlier than planned. While he packed, Sabrina booked air tickets online to fly out on that night itself. She threw some stuffs in her duffel bag and they took called for a ride to the airport. It was all done within a couple hours.

"Why the rush?" Kavan finally asked when they have settled in the car on the way to the airport.

"Let's just say, I needed to get away for a while," she replied. She can't explain now when the driver can hear everything.

"Also, the earlier we get your family to agree to our marriage, the better, isn't it?" she added.

Kavan agreed with that.

"That's true, the sooner I pacify my family the better and at least they won't push me to marry Reesha anymore," he replied.

Sabrina snuggled close to him. It felt so good to be with Kavan now. She pushed the earlier incident at the sea jade palace from her mind. It was just too shocking, even to her. She never imagined that she could be powerful enough to subdue the head of the council of elders. That was virtually unheard of.

"Let's just not mention Dashen at all, okay?" she reminded Kavan. He agreed. It is best that his family doesn't know about her marital status at this moment. It would be disastrous if they find out.

The flight down was uneventful and the moment they arrived at the bustling airport in Kuala Lumpur, Sabrina heaved a sigh of relieve. The dragon shapeshifters can travel through the human realm easily so no distance can keep them away but if she kept a low profile and made sure she doesn't use any magic, they would not be able to detect her for a while. They will definitely try to find her at Kavan's place and his studio. They didn't know about his family home in Kuala Lumpur. At least, she hoped not.

"We will be staying at a hotel right?" she asked once they've picked up their luggage and are making their way out of the airport.

"Of course! I don't think my mother will let us sleep in the same room and I don't want to stay at home either," Kavan said.

Sabrina was relieved. She wouldn't know how to behave if they had to stay over with Kavan's family. It would be awkward and uncomfortable. They planned to stay only for a maximum of three days, not more. After that, Sabrina plans to drag Kavan off to a brief holiday somewhere else. Maybe the Bahamas. Maybe Hawaii. Anywhere that the council of elders will not look for her.

She can't go back yet until she figured out a way to avoid being detected and summoned back to the sea jade palace again. The only magic she has used since her escape is to create a sort of shield to block them from summoning her magically. It seemed to work. She was not suddenly sucked back to the sea jade palace. She only hoped it holds up.

They got an airport limousine and Kavan gave the name of a luxury hotel in the city.

"Since you already know my background and this trip will be literally hell to both of us, we might as well enjoy our stay here," Kavan told her at her look of surprise.

He had booked them a suite complete with a jacuzzi and a huge luxurious king-sized bed. The suite is larger than the whole of Kavan's flat back in Penang. Sabrina absolutely approved. Especially the size of the bed. She jumped on the bed and rolled around on it.

"This is what I call living it large," she said. She sat up and patted the spot next to her. "Come join me," she winked at him. Kavan grinned and jumped in next to her. She pounced on him and then, they were tearing each other's clothes off, kissing and touching.

No matter how many times she kissed and made love to Kavan, Sabrina just could not get enough of him. He is indeed an addiction she doesn't want to get rid of. They came together furiously, him thrusting deep into her and she took every inch of him in gladly, hungrily. They rode the waves of pleasure together, cresting again and again before they finally fell back, panting, their limbs wrapped around each other, their bodies covered in sweat.

"Can we do that again?" Sabrina asked after they've caught their breath. Kavan laughed. He turned and kissed her nose.

"You are truly insatiable," he murmured.

"We have to keep trying for babies…so this is your duty," she quipped. She reached for him to try to coax him back to rock-hard arousal.

"Give me a chance to recuperate…" Kavan gasped. She released him and sighed.

"Okay, okay, I'll let you rest," she lay on her back and stared at the ceiling.

"So, tell me, why the sudden rush?" Kavan asked.

"I can't get enough of you…can't you tell?" she replied lasciviously.

"No," Kavan chuckled. "I mean, why the rush to leave and come down here?"

"I sort of attacked the head of my council of elders…bound him up to be exact and so, I am now on the run," she told him.

He raised himself and rest on his elbow. He regarded her with respect glinting in his eyes.

"Wow. Really? I am sure he deserved it though," he said.

She told him what had transpired when they suddenly summoned her back to the sea jade palace.

"I can't believe that Dashen didn't even help you!" Kavan said. "I mean, you are his fake wife after all and you've been living with his family for over 10 years, that's the least he could do isn't it?"

She shrugged. She had never expected Dashen to put his own neck on the line to help her. The fact that he had helped her with Kavan was as far as he could go.

"Well, lets just say he can be a selfish prick," she said.

"So, now what? You can't be running away forever," Kavan said.

She agreed. Sure, they can stay here and then go for a holiday elsewhere but eventually they will find her. It is not that hard for them to track her down if they really wanted to. That is, if they can get past her shield blocking them from tracking her down.

She has already turned off her phone so that Dashen couldn't use the human way to contact her either. She couldn't trust him even though he was the one to tell her to go while he talked to the council of elders. Who knows what Ong Shen will do and what he will order Dashen to do?

"I have no idea…I need to figure out a way," she told Kavan honestly.

"Aren't there any other dragon shapeshifters whom you can consult and ask for help? What about your parents?"

She didn't want to get her parents involved. She doesn't even know where they are now. She suppose she could ask for advise from other dragon shapeshifter clans. There is the Heaven's Descent Clan with quite a few of them living in the human realm.

"Maybe I will seek out the other clans…perhaps they can help," she told him.

The problem is to get in contact with the other dragon shapeshifters. It is not easy to trace them especially without using her powers. She decided not to think about it for now.

"Let's just think of how to pacify your family first, I think that's more urgent," she told Kavan. She rolled over to lie on top of him.

"I still think the best way is for me to get pregnant…so let's get to work," she told him. She kissed him without waiting for his reply and Kavan happily complied.
