Breathing heavily, I straddle the body underneath me. The handle of the blade tight within my smoking grip, another piece will soon be added. Soon, all that is left is to get a new body and start anew. Pulling myself up from the body, small marks start to cover its skin. Shakily, I turn and make my way out of the destroyed home. Bits and pieces of furniture lay broken beyond repair across the stained carpets. Closing the front door behind me, I drag my shoes down the steps and towards Linus' truck.
"What happened in there?" Poking his head from the passenger side window he eyes me up and down. Chuckling, I shake my head and drag myself into the driver side.
"Nah, big fellas like that always go down easy you know that." Pulling on the seatbelt, his eyes hadn't left my side. "What?" I question looking up from where my eyes had trailed to the steering wheel. I hadn't wanted to ask him that, but it had to come into topic sooner or later.
"Your being called again, aren't you? They are becoming impatient with how long you've been here aren't they?"
"Well, if they actually gave me a book, I could read maybe it wouldn't have taken so damn long!" Sarcasm drips from my lips as I tighten one hand on the wheel, the other turning the key. "It's almost over. Then we can figure out about all the charge bullshit from the big guy and be on our way."
"Do you think it'll be that easy?"
"It better well be… with all the shit we've gone through to get this far it better damn well be." Pulling away from the house, only one last piece was to be found. Two Kings and One Queen would soon appear, the body begun to ache. Dark vines lacing the veins as I drove up and down the block. Streets laid bare making it harder to guess, the wind and rain at our backs as time ticked on.
"What if- "
"No what ifs Linus we are going to end this game. Then we are going to go on a big vacation!" Waving my arm out, I can see from my peripheral the worry that covers his face.
'Just one last piece… where are you?'
