My brothers funeral was sweet. Zane gave him a proper burial while John wrote to The Counsel about his death. At the house we were sitting by the fire. Me, Zane, Lucy, and the two humans were sharing stories about my brother. I was baffled to learn my brother found these two when they were on a mission to find out about our world. I simply look at them and wanted to know more. The one who acted like a beast was named Jon, the one that held the gun was named Avery.
"You two are very interesting indeed."
"Why thank you" said Avery. He takes a sip of his coffee before speaking again. "Damien was sorta forced to watch over us as we did our stuff."
"Yeah, we don't have a great relationship with The Counsel" said Jon.
"Interesting, my question for you two is how are you able to survive the Leyline energy" asked Zane.
"Oh right, well it's complicated but me and Jon were aware of the Leyline energy. In fact all humans are aware."
"What? How?"
"Not in the sense that they would know anything about it, and only a handful of these humans know about it. We don't call it the Leyline. We call it the spirit guides."
"Oh, let guess your one of those humans right."
"Jon is Zane, I used to be but I left that life long ago...sorta."
"Then how are you surviving?"
"A theory we had. It never left me hence why I can be like all of you guys."
"I see, so why are you guys here?"
"Well Damien had his own reasons to come along with us. Actually he was suppose to come back yesterday, been gone for hours."
"That bitch will pay for what see's done" yelled Jon, who slammed his fist down on the table.
"Now Dameon calm down."
"wait, Dameon. I thought his name was Jon?"
"Well it is. Since Jon has a better connection with the Leyline energy and the whole spirits, some posses his body from time to time. Dameon is frequent along with one we call The Beast."
"Ok then, very helpful. This sounds more of your work honey I'm going to head out" said Lucy getting up and giving Zane a kiss before walking out. I too follow Lucy along with Avery who just wanted out as well. Outside Lucy was enjoying the peace and silence. Me and Avery walk up behind her and sit next to her, Avery leaning on the rail. He looks at us two and starts to talk to us.
"So werewolves. Must be nice."
"Well technically she's the werewolf I'm a hunter...ish."
"Ish?"
"He studies our kind."
"Ah, so like us."
"You and Jon study werewolves?"
"Not really him more like me. That's how we got in trouble with the whole Counsel in the first place."
"I see, so let me guess my brother was someone who was assigned to you in order to make sure you both didn't do anything stupid."
"Ding ding ding, and you sure just won the grand prize. Lucy tell him what he won."
Lucy laughed and just simply patted Avery's head. He chuckles and shakes his head. "Silly me, sorry I just use humor a lot. Helps me think that the situation I'm in that's scary isn't as scary as it seems."
"Ah, and why is that" ask Lucy. Avery just stayed silent staring out in space. Lucy patted his back and said "It's ok, I feel your pain." Avery just nods and takes a deep breath before going back to his normal self although you can tell that he has a thought still running through his head.
"Anyways, Zane must be having a field day with Jon."
"Why is that?"
"Cause Zane is doing some weird magic thing with him."
We both turn around and see Zane attempting to do something with Jon. My eyes widen as I recognized what she was doing. I rush back inside and put a stop to it.
"Zane! Stop it right now."
"Babe, what are you doing?"
"Silence you two, I almost have it."
"You killing the human as well."
"Wait...Jon...Jon! Zane put him down now."
"Zip it you three now."
The situation escalated quickly when Avery drew his gun. I smacked it down and we both started to brawl. During that time Zane's concertation broke and Jon was set free. All hell broke loss when the five us all fought each other. Lucy trying to break us all apart but ended up getting caught in the fight. It took John, Julian, Matt, Katt, and Lassora to break us apart. When we were separate John wanted answers.
"Mind explaining why you five were fighting like animals?"
"Oh I can tell you, that witch bitch over there was killing Jon...John"
"I wasn't trying to kill him."
"Oh really, cause that's not what I heard."
"I wasn't going to kill him you ape brain."
"I'll show you whos an ape brain you piece of shit witch." Avery tries lunging at Zane but we all stopped him. I hand Avery his weapon back firmly looking him in the eye as if telling him do not try anything. John simply looking at everyone before speaking.
"I think it is best that everyone apologizes for their actions."
"I'll apologize alright, as long as she admits she was trying to killing him."
"Avery, brother please calm it down before we end up dead" said Jon. He looks at everyone before speaking again. "I can explain, Zane noticed something very...interesting. Something that was going to kill me. She offered to help me get rid of it. I do agree with Avery that yes it was painful, to the point I felt like I was going to die but I knew the failsafe incase that did happen. Zane I thank you for what you were trying to do. Best we leave it be and let someone who knows more about it."
"Ok then. Situation is over. Please you two humans. I understand Damien was your friend and boss but I think you have overstayed your welcome. If you don't have anything more for us that is important then I suggest you leave. Best for us all we forget what happened right now."
"Fine, we'll leave, come on the mission was dumb anyway."
"What was that mission" asked Lucy, who blocked Avery in his path.
"Were suppose to meet up with this random dude in three days but he's in the town over. This was just a pit stop according to Damien. It obviously turned more than just a pit stop."
"Well then you two better get going."
Jon nodded and left. Avery looked at us before pulling out his wallet and handing us a few cards. "Incase you need us for anything. We'll be there. Sorry just jumped the gun I guess." He chuckled slightly before leaving. As they left the woods I simply look at the card before putting it in my pocket and walking inside to be with Katt and Vix. I caught a glimpse of John looking down at the card before tearing it up.
