With people cheering for their favorite warrior, the arena soon became noisy. These were two of the strongest known fighters in the arena, both being single elementals with one having the element of fire and the other the element of earth same as Derek.
They were also probably students of old who weren't able to meet their academies quota for the year. This was a common problem amongst academies. Every academy had a quota or a goal each student had to accomplish to remain in the school, so as to filter the strong from the week. Failure to reach that goal mostly led to expulsions or punishments of a kind.
After signifying the start of the match, the two fighters rushed to each other. They fought and exchanged blows using their elements as a source of enhancement. Elementals of their level couldn't actually call forth or bend the elements to their will in such a form. Only after gaining a higher state or level would one be able to shoot forth rays of flames or build up defences from the earth and so forth.
Of course the two friends watching this couldn't help but think all elementals were like that and very strong.
Below in the arena, the two fighters were exchanging blows and kicks. There was no order at all, no form, just a savage, wild, unrestrained brawl.
The boulder pointed his palm towards the ground same as what Derek did, and a patch of earth rose up and wrapped around his fist, making it more heavier and stronger. He punched the other and the raging inferno was sent flying backwards, hitting his back on the wall behind him. As elementals though, their bodies were more stronger and reinforced than the normal human, so what would have instantly killed a person only injured him.
Not wanting to be left out, the raging inferno applied some heat and flames to his movement making him faster than the normal human being. His action completely took his opponent by surprise and before the other party could register his shock, the raging inferno added heat to all his attacks so when he punched his opponent, it felt like a hot iron was striking his face. It immediately looked as if the boulder's face was burnt almost beyond recognition.
There was an uproar in the crowd because of it. Some people started cheering while others were booing.
"woah, that's pretty cool, don't you think Dan?"
" hmm, I guess.... but when I awaken willy boy, I'm definitely gonna awaken a super cool element maybe lightning, ooh or space, or maybe..."
" you do know that no element is actually useless right Daniel ?"
"pfft, of course I do, what do you take me for?...he he" Daniel laughed nervously.
'" I totally knew that'" was what Daniel wanted to reply even if it wasn't true.
