It was not what Wilson ever expected. It was a robin bird, but this one had a few feathers of gold color.
The bird looked as if it was injured and Wilson seeing this sighed out visibly relieved it was not some hideous monstrous blood sucking or flesh eating beast.
He approached the bird albeit hesitantly afraid it was a trap or maybe a monster pretending to look innocent and harmless.
But after getting closer and closer to the bird, it just stared at him. Wilson began to wonder what the problem was when he noticed the stare of the bird, it didn't look like what a normal animal would look like. It looked as if the bird had sentience.
One shouldn't forget Wilson was not originally from the world, he still had the memories of his past life even though they were somewhat foggy. So he mostly tried to act immature like a child even though there were times he slipped up and acted mature.
Therefore he instantly realized something was wrong when he noticed the Robin was not acting like a normal bird. That added with the fact it's color was strange.
Robins were generally reddish brown with orange colors, but this one was strange in the sense that it had golden specks with a tinge of silver.
As soon as he got close enough, the Robin turned around and flew in a particular direction. Wilson momentarily forgetting the situation he was in started chasing after the bird, trying to figure out what was happening.
After some time, he caught up and found it beside a tree. Going closer, it stayed where it was. Wilson seeing this, moved closer to it and just like before, the bird turned and fled.
Wilson again followed after the bird. He started to wonder if the bird wanted him to follow him. He decided to test this theory.
When he found the bird again, he turned around as if he was no longer interested in the bird and started walking in a different direction.
All of a sudden, he heard a loud and shrill cry. It sounded both scary and majestic at the same time. He turned around to see the bird with a look that said something like "now are you coming?"
Wilson could only sigh dejectedly and follow after the bird. And off they went.
Soon enough, he got into a place where the trees formed a circle. There was a log in the middle, but there was no bird. Rather it was a frail looking old man.
If Wilson were to guess, he'd say the man was probably older than even old man Manny. But the man gave the impression that he was not weak. The man was dressed in a plain looking robe with gold coloured embroidery. There was a silver colored wooden staff beside him. It looked rather ordinary but it had a curved and twisted top.
Wilson's normal reaction was to wonder who the old man was and how the old man ended up there. The second thought was if the man was responsible for everything that had just happened from the bird up till then.
Wilson was wary and scared because he was pretty sure that even though the man looked old, he must be powerful enough to still be safe in the middle of nowhere alone.
Wilson decided to flee with his chances in the hope that the man hadn't seen him yet. Just as he was about to turn and flee, he heard the old man say
" do not fear child,I mean no harm. you'll be safe with me Wilson"
Wilson was surprised seeing a stranger he had never met before call out his name. He definitely knew most of his parents friends and he was pretty sure he had never seen or heard them talk about someone like this.
" No, I am not your parents friend but I do not intend to hurt you either" the old man spoke again as if he could read Wilson's mind.
At the end, Wilson just decided to go to the old man. He went towards him and sat on the log by the edge of it. Just because he went to him, didn't mean he trusted him completely!.
The old man seeing this chuckled softly and then said:
"you don't have to pretend in front of me you know?"
"what do you mean"Wilson finally spoke"I don't even know who you are, yet you already even know my name."
The man smiled and kept quiet. Everywhere was quiet for a minute with only the sounds of the crickets and the chirping of the birds. Some fireflies were glowing here and there. Wilson was in awe of the beauty of the woods in the dark but then began to worry about his parents.
He began to worry that his parents and best friend would think the worst or something similar, when surprisingly the old man spoke again. " You do not have to worry, your parents are fine and they won't be worried, in fact you'll soon see them."
Wilson began to wonder just who this old man was. It almost felt like he was reading his mind.
Then he spoke again
"Wilson,...I know you're beat down about the fact that you didn't awaken when you were tested. But don't worry we'll get to that soon. I know for the fact you aren't from this world, you reincarnated and I had a hand in that"
Wilson was wondering how come when he spoke again.
"you can say I'm one of the most highest powers in this world, and I gave you some gifts during your transmigration even though I probably shouldn't have. You see the reason most humans have their abilities over the elements is because of us and I gifted you some special ones that only the highest powers of the highest realms have. The reason the orbs didn't glow is because you have all the present elements plus some additional unknown, as such your strength, growth, potential and talent is unlimited but you are not ready. not yet,"
