Chapter 8 - Chapter eight: Ancient prophecy

As soon as the sun set, Old man Manny started his story.

He told of the first elementals and how they had to keep the balance between elements and technology. Of how they struggled to learn how to control the abilities they had been given with no teachers or elders there to guide them.

He told of how the ancient elementals as they were called did their best to survive in a world that was evolving, even some animals were no longer normal.

He told the people of how the newer elements came out as well when some people awakened unknown variable elements from the first four, fire, earth, water, wind.

They also had to learn it from scratch meaning that all the present generations that followed were lucky because they had where to learn from.

He ended it with

"well that's that, I have a surprise for you all today, I'm ending with the ancient prophecy which I'm sure none of you have heard, It is said, one of the ancient pure spirit elementals saw a glimpse of the future and said a day would come when war with an unknown evil darkness would happen and only the wielder of old and new would be able to give victory to the world".

"many have tried to decipher the meaning but none has succeeded".

He ended with an eerie, spooky and mysterious voice that made everyone begin to ponder on the meaning of the words.

----__________---______

"hey Dan, do you have any idea of what old man Manny was saying?"

"not really will my man, but still I don't think you should worry about it"replied Daniel

"why do you say that?" asked Wilson

"well for one"replied Daniel"it's just a story, even if it wasn't, remember many have tried to decipher the meaning but none has been able to succeed plus nothing is happening, the land are at peace. Lastly were kids, it really doesn't concern us, we're not even elementals yet. Then again it's just a story."

"hmmn.. you're right, we've got nothing to worry about"answered Wilson going with Daniel's logic.

And off they went on their way home together, best friends with no idea how cruel the world really was.

Old man Manny watched as they went on their way home laughing and smiling, the green haired freckled boy and the black haired amber eyed one.

He sighed before entering his home and closing the door.

In that order, Wilson lived life happily as a child, enjoying the days. Daniel turned twelve a month later, while Daniel clocked twelve at the end of the same month.

They were now ready to test for their affinities, to go into the real world, to become elementals.

The testing normally took place twice a year, in the first half and second half, if you couldn't make it in either, you'd have to come back the next year.

The parents of the duo decided to go for the first half's testing. They were both so excited that they couldn't even eat, especially Wilson, who counted every single day down till his testing day.

Even Daniel who usually complained was already imagining electrocuting Derek, or burning him alive. His words were like;

"ha ha ha ha ,...I can see it now floating in the air and striking that bully with a thunder bolt I summon from the heavens, or no.. maybe burning him to a crisp, or wait for it teleporting him to the middle of the ocean and making him drown, maybe burying him with that earth he's so proud of,hmmm"

Even Wilson got shocked

"uhm,.. Dan ..... don't you think that's a little I don't know too dark?"

"you're right" he replied looking down guiltily.

Wilson thought it was solved until he heard "poisoning him, freezing his limbs or making him get eaten by a bunch of carnivorous plants that I summon, which is less dark?"

Wilson's eyebrows twitched while he almost fell off his chair.
