Though Elijah didn't really need the stone because he already knew about the concept of mana, and that was already enough since he didn't need to break his hands covering them in bruises, all he needed to do was guide the mana through his arms reconstructing his magic veins while trying not to damage them as he attempts to overload the mana on his arms.
Carefully circulating the mana through his arms, Elijah felt his muscle tissues as they began to tear apart. Of course, this was the result he wanted as overloading the mana as they entered circulating his hands, would cause a chain reaction to his tissues tearing them little by little from his muscles to his bone as they destroy every little function his arms had previously provided him with.
At first, Elijah wanted to be a man and take the pain, thinking he could handle them as they came little by little. However, his facial appearance became almost unrecognisably from the previous expression as his teeth's clattered as they clashed against one another.
Enough!
Elijah couldn't take it anymore as he prayed the pain would subside a little, thinking it was enough as he chanted it repeated it in his heart convincing his body that he had enough will to handle this type of pain.
More and more mana converged in his hands and they converted into magical energy, wrecking damage on every living cell that surrounded his arm, leaving him with no choice but to scream in agony, the birds fluttered into the sky as though startled from Elijah's moans of anguish as it resounded through the forest.
...….
The pain was finally over as Elijah collapsed on the ground with trembling hands as his body continued to twitch from all sides, feeling an itch that came from within his arms, Elijah decided to take a good look at his hands as he carefully circulated the mana around them to see if the adjustment were completed.
Oh! Shit!
Elijah who wasn't used to making use of curse language said that out loud as he felt how his hands now looked and how completely different it was from the previous.
Elijah wasn't a doctor or a surgeon, but at least he had a basic idea of how a human skeletal structure should be, and how a human's bone patterns should look like. However, Elijah looked at the current arrangement of his bones and was sure that this wasn't the proper pattern of how a humans' bone structure should be.
Although it was different, although the only noticeable characteristics he could find were that his current bone arrangement looked similar to a human, his magic veins looked wider and tougher too, allowing him to channel twice as much mana than what he could handle. Apart from that, there was strangely no other thing he could notice from it.
At this point, Elijah began to think if, by the time he meets his family back on earth, he would still possess the same courage to call himself human.
H wasn't sure!
He didn't even know what awaited him except for this insane magicraft that caused him to feel pain in exchange for power.
He didn't know if he could make it or if he would die along the way.
He wasn't certain, but could only keep trying.
"Death is without value, life is incomparable to death. Every soul shall strike a chord, and each chord will sing your fate".
Elijah still wasn't sure what these words meant, he didn't know what they implied or if they meant no harm to him, he couldn't even locate their meaning through Deltrich memories. Elijah wanted to know what they meant, it was not that he was actively trying to get the meaning, but because he didn't care.
Because, for some reason whenever he recited those words again and again in his mind, he felt both at peace and strangely comfortable. He couldn't do anything to put his mind at rest and singing the songs he knew didn't help either, as he was currently in an unknown world with no gadgets to keep him company unlike on earth.
But if the words from the Broken mrtyu magicraft could bring him this much comfort in his current time of survival, Elijah didn't try to trouble himself anymore as he tried to somehow live in the moment, while he slowly shuts his eyes and went to sleep.
...
Waiting till he had enough rest, Elijah waited until he could feel his body again, choosing to immediately start his training as he stood up, preparing to properly train the Broken mrytu magicraft.
But before that, Elijah turned his line of sight as his eyes glued on one of the birds, thinking of different ways to capture at least one of them. He was hungry and now needed to fill his stomach.
Looking around his surroundings, Elijah began to think of how delicious these birds would taste since mana improves the quality of one's body, surely the meats would taste more heavenly than the scraps from the earth.
He began making various plans on how to capture his prey, as his stomach rumbled as though it declared war for the indignation it had suffered these following days.
...…
Elijah sat behind a bonfire as he looked at the flames as they burned with great vigour. Though he wasn't particularly looking at the flames but the half-done roasted meat that was placed on the fire. He was currently dining on the meat before him as he ate them with a smile plastered on his face full of satisfaction.
During the recent days, Elijah had tasted the sweetness of the sweet flavour of the roasted meat he got from the birds, which he had only managed to catch after he had caught one off with a carefully laid out trap.
Though he couldn't catch another after his first try, Elijah was disappointed at first but didn't allow it to weigh him down and it looked like the birds seemed to love the taste of flesh, which meant that they were carnivores.
