''Are you sure this is the right way uncle Bael?'' said a man who tied his long smooth hair in a ponytail as they dangled to the side.
''Of course, we are on th`e right path, how many years of experience did you think it takes for one to know the ins and outs of a forbidden land?'' Old man Beal said sarcastically.
Old man Bael was an old man whose face was filled with wrinkles, although still possessed some vitality, was adorned in a plate of armour as only his waist to his lower body was covered with armour, while his upper body was covered with spandex long sleeve-like wear, with two distinct arm guards on each forearm. Which looked as though its only purpose was to show off the well-defined body of the old man, making him looked like a behemoth of a person, the other members of the group didn't find it strange and only saw it as the result of his years of unimagined training.
''Smack''
Pergan felt a slap at the back of his head that threatened to leave an imprint the moment it stopped. Turning around to see the perpetrator that dared to slap him. Looking straight into the eyes of Liam a young man who was only 2nd in command after old man Beal.
Pergan placed his hands on his head as he began to massage the sore spot that had received the brute force of the slap while looking at Liam with an expression that protrayed how he felt.
''You should know that uncle Bael is the only one among us that had ventured into the 'Deadly volcanic region' more times than we could count"
"And although we have to be on this path for days, you should give him the benefit of the doubt that we have not encountered any demonic beast till now '' Liam said, although he did notice something was amiss as they hadn't encountered a single demonic beast at the outskirts of the forest.
Sigh!!!
Old Bael sighed as it was true he was getting old, and although he still had more years to live, that didn't stop him from accepting this mission. As he knew the weight of the task that currently hung on his shoulders,
Trying to hold back his emotions, as he didn't want to get lost in his train of thoughts while being in a forest where one could lose his life at any moment, old man Bael kept on moving as he too began to notice something strange.
It was known that a forbidden land would be littered with many formidable beasts, although they were still beasts that weren't as dangerous, but made up for it with their numbers. Also, they had already been at the outskirts of the Galah forest and had only encountered some herds of dire rats which was one of the most common beasts in the region.
Confirming his thoughts, as he didn't know how good or bad the situation was, but coming up with the conclusion that they should better hurry to complete their task quickly.
Liam getting a message from old man Bael, decided to give out his orders, as their task must be completed at all costs.
''Pergan protects our backs, uncle Beal would be enough for a frontal attack, and I will stay at the centre ''. Liam quickly gave out his orders as he placed the groups in their various formations.
Turning to look at the woman who although wore the least protective equipment on her, made her look like someone that didn't look ready to venture into a forbidden land.
''And Cahira, you and Boris, scout the surroundings and inform us if there's anything you find strange or abnormal''.
Getting her orders unlike Boris, Cahira didn't even bother to respond as she quickly moved ahead of the group to survey the surroundings, keeping an eye on anything that could be considered a threat to the group, while he went after her.
''Uncle Bael, do you think she can handle this task?'' Liam asked as he didn't see the purpose of even bringing a person like Cahira along, as she was of detriment to the group.
"Of course she can, and since it was also her choice to come along, then she should have known the consequences of not being prepared''. Old man Bael said as he didn't stop to respond, while continually making sure they were on the right path.
''I can understand what you mean, but uncle Bael, I'm not even sure if she knows how to swing that sword of hers properly, not to mention that she is completely non-essential to the group''.
Old man Bael suddenly stopped as he turned around to match the gaze of Liam, but with a body that at a height of about 3 meters, it was more like Liam raised his head to match the eyes of the old devil.
''Listen up Liam, we are all here for the spirit flamed orchid, and even if you are my niece, I will not tolerate any form of berating from you as retrieving the spirit flamed orchid and getting back with our lives intact should be the only results that matters and of which would be most beneficial to the clan''. Old man Bael said, while not bothering to hide his threatening aura, as it began to leak out catching Liam unprepared.
While looking at the imposing figure of old man Bael, Liam had almost forgotten the kind of devil he was, and how much of an influence he holds in the clan. So getting on his bad side would be of no help to him.
''I am sorry for my ignorance uncle Bael, and I know you have your reasons''. Bowing down his head as a show of apology, Liam quickly apologized, in order not to incur the old devil's wrath.
''scoff''. Old devil Bael sneered in disapproval as he turned back to head back to his position.
......
Travelling through the forest at a steady pace was a woman who was dressed in worn-out leather armour, with a long sword hanging from the waist. She possessed beautiful black long hair, with some shiny grey strands of thread which could be found among them.
