CHAPTER 10
At nightfall, Carmilla was so devastated, she had been waiting patiently for the men surrounding Abaddon to depart from him so she could see him but no matter what, they stuck around as though he was going to escape or something when he had already been banished from the Aisle.
After some time, she stood up from her bed. She was already filled up with what they were doing and she needed to see him with or without their permission.
Walking majestically towards his room, she heard some voices and decided to halt in her steps before taking the next turn to his room.
"You should thank your stars and count yourself lucky for this escape but mind you, you would not go scot-free. The punishment of your actions would still be waiting for you."
"I never realized you wanted to be king so much that even your words supersede that of the Demon Lord," Abaddon said, his sarcasm showing clearly in his tone.
"Do not lump me in with you, traitor! I Fearghal, I am not a traitor like you."
"If that is what you say. I seem to have forgotten that only those tied down with false pieces of evidence are labelled as traitors and not those that say the words themselves."
"You imbecile!" For a second there, Fearghal forgot himself and raised a hand close to Abaddon. Luckily for him, he got his senses back before his hands actually made their mark on his face.
His breathing became laboured as he looked in deep into Abaddon's eyes, ones which did not bear any form of threat or terror within.
He was just as clean slated as he was. Not easily provoked to anger but when he did in fact get angry, the world trembled at his quake.
"If that is all, please leave me be. You have got what you wanted, I am leaving the Aisle of Doom already aren't I?"
"Hmm, if it were up to me as Demon Lord, I would have had your head on a silver platter by now."
"Spoken as you would have it and now the truth is out."
"ABADDON!" Fearghal yelled in anger but all he could do was just yell.
Even if they had succeeded in removing him from the picture temporarily, that was still no yardstick to misbehave because if he eventually came back, then things would be difficult.
'Damn it, Fearghal, do not be moved by this imbecile. All you have to ensure now is that he never returns.'
With that thought in his heart, his new goal was set and he needed to make preparations before, Abaddon even set out.
Turning around swiftly, he stormed out of Abaddon's room in anger and walked away. Luckily for Carmilla, she had heard all that she needed to hear and well-hidden herself properly to avoid being seen by the traitor himself.
Once she was sure he was out of sight, she came out of hiding. About taking another step in the direction of his room, Carmilla paused and thought it through.
After some time on carefully analyzing situations, she decided it was best to actually sneak into his room through his window than the front door. And so she did waiting till the lights were off.
CRACK!
A pair of blue eyes shone in the dark the second the noise was heard. He did not move but as quickly as the eyes opened, they closed right back, leaving the room in a serene dark void.
He waited! One second, two seconds!
At the third, he could sense that the person or demon now, had already stepped foot into his room and was tiptoeing to his bed.
However, just when a pair of hands touched his blanket…
SWOOSH!
It all happened so fast and the next thing Carmilla understood, she was already sprang back up, with back stretched and a cold metal to her heart.
She had not seen anything happen. One second she touched his blanket and felt nothing on the bed and the next, she was taken by surprise and pulled back up, turning in the dark till she was by the window with a hand around her neck and another holding a metal dagger to her chest.
"What do you want before I kill you."
Rather than answering his question, she praised him. "As skilled as ever."
Hearing her familiar voice, his eyes shot open in the dark. "Carmilla?"
"Have you forgotten my scent so soon, Abaddon?"
Quickly he released her and switched on the light before pushing her away from the window and dropping its drapes before anyone would see her from outside his window.
"What are you doing here?"
"Is biding you goodbye such a bad thing? Huh?"
"No, I did not mean it that way, Carmilla, you know." Abaddon let out a soft sigh before dropping the weapon in his hand and going to stand far from her.
"And since when did you start avoiding me?"
"Since I was labelled a traitor. The last thing I want is to have my father's only protector, be labelled as one with me."
"Is that all I am to you? The Demon Lord's protector?" As she said this, she began to walk in slow strides, taking her time, in making her figure show with him watching her every move as she had hoped to snag his attention away.
"You know that is not what I meant. You are my friend as well."
"Just a friend?" She stopped in front of him and took his left hand, bringing it around her waist ever so slowly. "I thought I was more than that to you?"
"Carmilla…"
"Shhh!" She used her middle finger to shush him up, inching her face closer to his. "I miss you, Abaddon."
"I haven't gone yet and you already missed me?" Abaddon asked her with a soft chuckle after succeeding in prying her finger from his lips.
"Yes. Abaddon, perhaps I have not yet said it but I have shown you in more ways than one. I love you."
