Few more minutes and the sound of unlocked knob outburst in his consciousness, as he felt some warm sensation from hands that come to support; calm him down.
"DJ, you just woke up from accident," she said. A female voice that was familiar to him.
"Ha-Ji? Are you?"
"I am."
A small pitch of noise from her gulp that becomes vulnerable to him, so sudden. That every small noise, scents and a strong sense of intuition comes to round over his head, as he woke up from his consciousness.
He was stopped for few seconds and wondered, I just sleep. Nothing else, but why I am in different kind of situation? Is this what that Alex told me yesterday? But why?
He was about to move his right leg, unfortunately, it comes to feel nothing.
Thunderous perplexity is drowning his body, lot of remorseful droplets of thoughts that dripping all of over his hope, nothing but let his physical structure to remain on its position.
"Am I"ㅡhe reached his right leg by handㅡ"crippled too?"
"Yes, son," his mother responded.
"I need to get back to our work, just call us if you need us," said his Dad.
"But what about my class? What was the day today?" Dae-Jung asked, whilst gazing out of nowhere, far from his family protrusions.
"Your first day of class will be tomorrow, DJ. It's September 10, today." Ha-Ji distant a bit from the mattress, attempting to reach the doorknob. "I need to get back in my class."
The knob twirl on and a sound of door being open, next. At last, he realized that he was alone again.
"It's just April, yesterday. How come?"
He felt a goosebumps from his toe up to his head when a familiar female voice passed through his ears. "It is and it isn't impossible."
He started to switch his aim of projection in different sides and asked, "Who are you?"
"Calm down, DJ. It's me, Alex."
He exhaled from blind nervousness and end up his head on the other side, across her sight.
"Are you punishing me, now? Like? Are you a witch or what?
"How come you just pop-up inside my room, without my family noticing you?"
"I'm not here, earlier," she responded. As she rest her weight on the mattress beside him, made Dae-Jung shiver a bit, as he felt her warm presence from few distance.
"Then why did you just pop-up?"
"You're in the different dimension, but identical to our world before."
"Did you just put me here?" Raising his right brow, whlist instill on his position earlier.
"Yea, I was the one who did. In able for you to realize what I have mentioned you in the Campus, yesterday."
"What was reason why you decided to let me become a blind and crippled one?"
"You will know," she said. Voice like a new neutral spring season.
Next to it, a sudden soft wind blew and touched his skin. No any other noise come out to form.
He extended his arms in different directions, as a wooden crutches bumps against his finger. He push himself forward in order to reach it completely.
And as he did, he placed it across the side left edge of his mattress. He lower his left leg in order to support his balance at first and the other quite numb one.
He buttress his weight against the crutches with the support of his left leg. The silence makes him deaf inside a deep well, without any lights to see.
He step the right crotch forward and do the same on the other side; end up bumping against the door.
Traces of repugnant imprint on his face, as he hit the door wall, using his foreheadㅡonce. "What the hell is this kind of world?" He shut his eyes, whilst resting his head against. "How I can go back in my normal life?"
Few minutes of challenges, silence and frustrations, he finally reach the living room, it's just low-pitch of aircon cycling around that area.
"Anything you need?" Ha-Ji asked. Whilst looking at the laptop screen with some notebooks infront of her.
"I thought you're going to school?"
"Yes, I am. I'm already in class."
"You do self-study?"
His sister turn it's sight towards him and said, "Online class. I just end my first class, I'm just doing my activities."
Tons of dismayed thoughts fall down in his mind. His hope fully diminished, he doesn't feel any motivation to face what kind of study he will be in.
"Why did you choose online class over face to face, then?"
She chuckled and rest her back against the chair supporter. "There's no face to face class, it's forbidden this time."
"What's with the world?"
"Pandemic," she responded, despair flashes on her lips, as she turn back her sight back to the notebooks on the table.
"What about, mom and dad?"
"By next week, they need to stay in the apartment, close to their job, because we will be in lockdown."
Everything stops, exclude the time kept pumping up, as the world continue to run.
How come to turn back the old century that you have everything, until you just woke up in the bed, a new world with a complete different kind of story.
A chapter that seems to be no light as of now, the word's that just imprinted, but out of context to be understand.
Pure pages that looks like the calendarㅡhanging on your wall, it tears up in just one blink of your eye without you even planting anything, but just a shadow.
"You mean, we're also forbidden to leave the house?" he again asked.
"We can leave if it's necessary, if you need to work or buy some goods. However, young minor's are forbidden."
In between the second and minute, a bunch of questions keeps withdrawing, out of place to be seen, out of control to be hear.
Evening that day, Dae-Jung just stay inside his room, back fully resting against the wall, while his down weight on the fluffy mattress.
Then suddenly again, Hei-Ran pop on his mattress, seating beside his feet.
"You again?" He scratched the back of his neck and chuckles a little. "Did I do something wrong with you? Did you hate what I have said before? Why the hell you're doin' this to me?"
"Not in me, but to other people. You to yourself, you also need to realize something."
"Do you think these all make sense? This is so boring! I feel so weak. Nothing but a trash!"
"It's your shadow that made you like a trash, not your condition."
He then rested the back of his head against the wall, blind eyes gazing up the ceiling.
"You really do this to your type, aren't you?"
She let out a cackle and exhales some oxygen. "I like you, since I first saw your face in the main entrance of the Campus."
"You said you like me, but really put me in different dimension in order to change. How could you say that you like me if you want to change me-"
"If you love someone, you want something that best for them."
"And you think that this is the best for me?" He laughs bitterly and and shook his head, afterwards.
"It's best for your own sake."
"What do you really think you're doing? Being a good mannered woman? Helping a man like me? You just steal everything I've got, without me knowing."
"Loving someone isn't part of stupidity, DJ. You will thank me, someday."
He was about to speak, but a blew of wind come to felt his senseㅡagain.
"What the hell? What kind of woman is she?"
Twenty-sixth day of September, seven thirty-seven in the evening. The television was turn on, whilst Ha-Ji and Dae-Jung was just seating on the couch.
The news anchor said, "The government is pursuing everyone to have social distancing, even they are in each of their comfort home.
"The said virus has a probability to circulate around the house, through often contact between two individuals or more."
He gaze on his left and move his hand to feel the side of the couch. "Are we in proper distancing?"
Her sister let out a loud cackles and responded, "I'm on the other couch, opposite side of where are you at."
A laughter with dumbfounded consciousness come out from his mouth and emit his breath, as he turn back his projection infront.
"Can I have a walk outside?"
"Just inside our area, like the front garden, there's a bench there." Her sight pour over him. "Just wear a mask and I'll take you there, you want?"
"What kind of drugs you're taking these day's? I'm not used."
She discharge her weight from the couch and started to wear her sleepers.
"Huh? I'm just busy, I don't really have time after my work and study. Ofcourse, you're my little brother-"
"I'm not your little brother, Ha-Ji!" he demandedㅡimmediately.
"Well then, 'younger brother'. You know"ㅡshe made her way towards the cabinetㅡ"I didn't even realize that you're feelin' bad to us, not talking to you whenever you came home."
"You just talk to me whenever you wanted to ask something, though."
"Perhaps, but they care, we care." She pulled a mask from the drawer. "Whenever our parents go home, they ask where are you. Let me remind you that we don't have maid's, they are the one who cook and prepare our stuffs everyday."
