Chapter 6 - Chapter 6- The Alpha King and his Princess

Rhys

He watched her. Her movements her breathless body moved cautiously. From the moment she enter the ring with her ferocious cocky attitude to the second she grabbed her older brother dragging and snapping at them for the fact she was a female. Incapable and not worthy to fight because it would make it complicated for everyone. Apart of him wanted to go down there and challenge the males for bruising and hurting her, but he couldn't interfere in such an event. Not even been the King of the Jungle gave him that power. Yet she stood as she defeated all, and challenged her father: King Lucien as if it were nothing. Her words proud with conviction. Expecting him to said no, as no wolf liked any outspoken woman, the smirk on his face spoke otherwise.

The sword that was revealed to be their fighting choice as he cocked his brow. " I thought one was supposed to prove their natural strength not play in warfare. What was the meaning behind this?" He thought resting his chin on hand. Although she spoke lowly his superhuman hearing expanded to hear.

" Just like good old times." She commented.

Like the good old times, huh? They had done this before in some sense so the king was just going easy on her because they had done this before. So simply she would either win or fail. Her small stature stood nothing against the Alpha King, much less himself. His mind then sway she was small enough he could carry her with ease. The way she would be splattered out in his bed as he stood lingering over her. Her body seeming so fragile, could she even take the size of him? Would he crush her if he dared to lay on her? Or would she take him just how she sassed him? Although he was a King who kneeled to no one he would kneel in front of her, for her. Never let her go from his grasp.

He snapped out of his thoughts as the sound of clashing metal drew his attention to the two alphas stand cross from one another the King backhanded swinging his sword as he stomped forward clanging the blade against her. Pushing her further and further as she attempted to find footing as he feet dragged in the dirt.

Rhys could sense her heart race as the pounding of it rang in his ears. Her breath quicken, body tensed, eyes focused. Slipping beneath his blade as she slashed through his external oblique as another scar was added to his body. The blood that ran down won a gasp from his wife: Queen Colette as she stood with her hand covering her mouth, her eyes almost completely white.

Bree blinked realizing she had just injured her father as she stumble forward swallowing, " Dad-"

" Don't disgrace me with your apology!" He hissed as his eyes glowed silver. " Nothing more than a scar, but I can't say the say for you." He swiftly turned around charging forward as she almost instinct ran off, dodging his attack.

She had froze, Rhys was sure of it. The unexpected violence, the gaze as if you're life were to end: right then and now.

It reminded him of the same day he decided he would challenge his father to the throne. Originally he had no option, he was the eldest son, Leo at the time was a mere child, Valerie is sister had no interest as she loved to live vicariously. Although he didn't want to, he wanted change. He wanted to rule differently from his father. For some old outcasted tradition to be done with so others wouldn't have to suffer. Therefore he went through with it, however that didn't mean he wasn't scared. He was beyond terrified, the fact that either his father or him would have to die, wasn't an easy concept to grasp. He wanted everything in his will to avoid it. Thankfully, his father wasn't as proud full as he believed. Bloody and wounded he embraced him in a bear hug as his acceptance.

But the case of the Alpha King and his Princess was different. The King was known for protecting and harbor nothing but absolutely love and adoration for his daughter. Even something he was witness of intimidating any male nearing her for believing they weren't good enough. Many say that the reason he had so many sons was because he wanted a daughter. Fortunately to the Queen her seventh time was the charm. Ever since then they was never a moment he had to harm her. So the shock may her run away.

" Don't run away like a coward me, Bree!" King Lucien added as she stopped in her tracks with a scowl on his face. " No coward deserves to lead people."

" I'm not a coward." She replied as Rhys nodded. This was certainly true, all the times she had back talked and lack of respect she held displayed her rebellion. And to be rebellious was to be strong. Though her action just proved otherwise.

King Lucien stood with his shoulders high, " Then prove it." He slowly tiptoed forward like a deceitful wolf. " Prove, that you are not a coward. " King Lucien carefully shifted the weight of himself to his toes, making sure he didn't make a single sound. " You know as a woman, it's better that you do something to surprise other's. So they wouldn't underestimate you." He talked absently as he stood directly behind her with his sword high in the sky aiming for her head.

Rhys stood still, he wanted to yell. He wanted to tell her. To advise her to look behind. But all he could see was her lifting her head with a proud grin. What was she smiling for?

" That's actually good advise dad. " She began as she turned around her body curving an impossibly low angle as she took her sword and slashed his knees. The crowd yelled at their top of their lungs. " I actually might follow it." She mocked slightly.

His hazel eyes widened. All this time she wasn't running away, she was distracting him. Purposely making herself seem weak, to draw him closer. " Brilliant." He whispered under his breath as she approached the fact he was on his knees to slash him.

" Now let's stop this!" She yelled as she struck the weapon into the crowd, letting her hand go. What was she doing? Was she submitting? No, she had barely fought, she couldn't just give up. She was winning. Even if she did, she would be humiliated for life for big talk, and renouncing before even attempting. Clenching his fist he wanted to scream out, " NO! You must continue. Fight. Fight with all your will and might. Show the world, your strength."

However the next words that came out her mouth he did not expect.

" Father, I did not come here to challenge you to a duel, rather you're throne." Bree clarified as King Lucien tilted his head, " Enough, let us fight. Fight as we should. As we are." She stated as her long crimson hair converted into red fur and her body into four paws. His eyes widened as did everyone else.

She was not giving up, rather showing her true prue nature.

Wow! Wow! This was unexpected, what will Bree do next? If you couldn't tell Bree is King Luciens favorite child, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love his sons because he is extremely proud of them. Just he has always treasured the relationship because of something I will explain in another chapter, I was about to spill the beans but then I remembered it's already in a chapter so wait for that.
