The last surviving men were almost on their tail, "is everyone ready?!" Nick said, rolling down his window, preparing to shock some more. "Ready when you are," Jerry said, his gun at hand. Kasey nodded in agreement, and Donald also nodded, gripping his gun and the steering wheel at the same time. Unfortunately, the other men weren't having it anymore and decided to shoot the wheels out. The car began to spin rapidly and Donald was struggling to get on course again. His attempt was futile and the car went head first into a muddy ditch on the side of the road. The car was stuck, and the remaining men were only a couple of seconds away. "Shit, is everyone okay?!" Nick said, wincing in pain as he realized he had sustained injuries from the crash. He didn't wait for an answer though and got out of the car, aimed at the approaching men, shocked them with his static, and quickly took cover behind the car. "I think there's only five of them left, we better act quick though," he said, getting ready to shock the men again. "I'm ready," Jerry said, "me too," Kasey added in, both of them gripping their guns. Donald on the other hand, seemed to have hit his head during the crash, and was in no condition to finish the fight, along with Mary, who still had a cough from the house fire they escaped mere minutes ago.
Nick, Jerry, and Kasey, got out of the car and started shooting at the men, who where now no longer in a state of shock. They tried to dodge the gunfire, three men managed to get out of the way, while two stragglers got shot up with hot lead, killing them both. "Take this you fuckers!" One of the men yelled, the three remaining savages took out machines guns and fired back at Nick, Jerry, and Kasey. They quickly took cover behind the car, and while the vehicle took most of the damage, a single bullet passed through Jerry's left shoulder. "Dammit!" he yelled, dropping his gun and grasping his shoulder, groaning in pain. "Shit!" Nick said, scared for his friend, and a bit uncertain if they'll be able to survive the gunfight against the savages. "Fuck! I'm low on ammo," Kasey said, looking at her almost empty magazine, lowering Nick's certainty further. "Take... mine...," Donald said, offering Kasey his gun, barely conscious. "Thanks," she said, taking the gun, and prepared for more shooting. She nodded at Nick, and he did the same back, they waited for the men to stop firing their guns. When they stopped, Nick came out of cover, shocked the three of them just as they were trying to get out of the way of the static, and Kasey came up and shot at them.
Two more men were killed, while the last one got shot in his right thigh, making him scream in pain. "YOU MOTHERFUCKERS!!!" He screeched, grabbing his leg and going into the fetal position, while beginning to get soaked in a pool of his own blood. The man finished reloading his gun and sprayed bullets at them as a last ditch effort. A bullet grazed Nick's right cheek before he was able to get down with Kasey. "Dammit, that's gonna leave a mark," he said, pissed, but relieved the fight was now over. He checked up on Jerry, who was leaning against the car, "man, can't catch a break can I?" Jerry said, lightening the mood, Nick chuckled, still a bit concerned for his friend who was now gonna need some help soon. Nick carefully peeked his head behind the car to see the condition of the last man, he was soaked in his own blood and was moaning in pain. "You fuckers," he quietly said, sobbing on the blood soaked road, he was still pointing his machine gun at them, but it was out of ammo, so it only made a clicking sound. Kasey peeked at the man with Nick, "should we kill him?" She asked Nick, raising up the gun in her hand. "I'm not sure, I mean, he did try to kill us," Nick responded, determining whether to spare the man's life or not. "He'll probably bleed out if we just leave him here anyways, so it doesn't really make that big of difference does it?" Jerry chimed in with his thoughts. "I guess we better just put him out of his misery," Nick reluctantly said, nodding at Kasey. She carefully aimed at the weeping man, who was still swearing at them, Kasey hesitated for a second, and fired, the shot echoed, and was followed by silence. Nick and Kasey both helped with getting Donald and Mary out of the car, Donald's head was bleeding a bit, but he was fine overall, and Mary was no longer coughing. They gathered supplies from the car, and rested a bit.
"What now?" Donald asked, having no idea what to do, "maybe we should use one of their cars and salvage what we can at the house," Nick suggested. "What's left of it," Jerry added, before getting up to his feet with the help of Kasey. The lot of them all decided to go back to the remnants of the house, they took one of the nearby savages' cars and headed towards it. When they got back to the home, it looked like a big burnt out bonfire, with some charred bodies. "Not the most pleasing site to look at," Jerry said, beginning to rummage through the wreckage to find anything useful. "Hey, is your EMP thing still in my truck?" Nick asked, "yeah it is, but I can't help but think I won't be able to finish it anytime soon," Jerry replied, without stopping with his scavenging in the rubble. "You sure man?" Nick asked, slowly beginning to walk towards his truck, "yeah, I'm sure," Jerry said. "If you say so," Nick said, walking towards his truck to see if he could still drive it.
