"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Jerry asked Nick, as he looked behind to check on the still passed out woman. "She was fighting for her life with those men, she doesn't deserve to die yet," Nick said defensively. "Okay, but if she kills us, it's your fault," Jerry said. Nick scoffed at the comment. "Do you think you'll be able to finish that static weapon at my parent's?" Jerry asked, to change the subject. "Probably, I mean all I have to do is fix some wiring on the thing," Nick replied. "Only a couple more hours to your parents's right?" He asked. "Yep," Jerry said, as he began to fall asleep. Nick continued to drive throughout the night to the point where his eyes got bloodshot. "Shit, I'm tired," he said to himself as he pulled into a rest area to go to sleep.
"Yo, dude, wake up!" Jerry said as he was shaking Nick awake. "What the hell?! What's wrong?" He said, barely awake. "That chick woke up, screamed at us, and ran to hide in the bathroom," Jerry said. "Well, at least she didn't kill us, right?" Nick said jokingly, while getting out of the car. "Probably 'cause you took her gun away," Jerry said back. Nick entered the center and knocked on the ladies room, "excuse me, ma'am? Are you in there?" He began to asked, "leave me alone!" The woman shouted, "Me and my friend don't mean any harm. We just came across the aftermath of whatever happened back there, we're here to help, you have a bullet wound in your shoulder, there's medical supplies where we're going," Nick said, in an attempt to deescalate the situation. The woman cautiously poked her head out the door, she looked scared and careful towards him. "Name's Nick," he said in a somewhat soothing voice to the woman. She hesitated for a moment, "Kasey," she said, still being wary of Nick. "We need to go to my friend's parent's place soon, you and him are gonna need new bandages," he said, trying to convince Kasey. She looked at him for a while, trying to make a decision, "I don't think we have all day," Nick said. "Fine, I'll come with you," Kasey finally said.
"So you convinced the pretty assassin not to kill us?" Jerry said to Nick as he and Kasey walked out of the building. "Yeah, guess so," Nick said, opening the door for her to get in. He got in the car and started driving again, in hopes of getting there before nightfall. "So, Kasey, wanna tell us what exactly happened to you and those guys back there in the woods?" Jerry asked looking over his shoulder to look her in the eyes. "They were shooting at me, and were yelling about how they were going to kill me." She began to say, "I got shot in the shoulder while trying to get away from them, but I was able to kill them all... right?" Kasey said, concerned that any survivors might come back to get her. "If any survived, I'm pretty sure they would've killed you before we came," Jerry said. "Maybe they thought I was already dead," she said, still worrying. "Well, if that's so, then problem solved, you don't need to worry about those dead assholes," Nick said, popping into the conversation. This comforted Kasey a little bit.
It was starting to get dark outside, which made Nick get a bit grouchy. But, the three were approaching the front entrance of Jerry's parent's farm. "Oh, thank god," Nick said, when he saw the sign that said: Mary's & Donald's Farm. When they got to the house, Jerry said, "home sweet home," before getting out of the car to knock on the door of his parent's house.
