"We should stop somewhere to rest," Jerry said to Nick, they've been driving nonstop since the rest area. "Fine, we'll stop at the next exit," Nick replied back. They exited the highway into an oasis. The first thing Jerry noticed was a gun shop, "yo dude, check it out," he pointed at the place. They drove to the shop and went inside. The place was almost completely empty, all of the big guns were stolen along with the explosives, the only things they could get were some handguns, some knifes, and a couple of boxes with ammo. "So, I saw your static thing," Jerry began to say as they loaded the supplies into Nick's car. "The thing looks like its ready to be used man," he said. "Yeah, I just need to do some internal work and it should be ready to use against those assholes," Nick said. "Well, I don't think I'll be able to continue working on my shit," Jerry said as he was starting to get comfy in his seat and getting ready to go to sleep. "You'll be back on your feet in a couple of weeks," Nick said to comfort his tired friend. They slept throughout the night with more ease, now that they had weapons to defend themselves.
Nick woke up first again, and continued to drive to Jerry's parent's place. Jerry woke up after a few hours, "any food left?" he asked. "There should be some left in the back," Nick said. His friend crawled to the back of the car to get some bags of chips and beer. While Jerry was eating and drinking, Nick noticed a gunned down car by the side of the road, "What the hell?" He said, puzzled by the sight of regular bullets in a car. Nick stopped the car, took out one of the guns, made sure it was loaded, and went outside to investigate. "Be careful," Jerry said as he took a gun to protect the car. At a closer glance, Nick saw that the driver's door was open and the seat was bloody, the rest of the car was messy. The blood from the driver's side led to the woods that was next to the road.
Nick cautiously went into the woods to follow the trail of blood. While he was following the trial, Nick came across some dead men holding guns and machetes, with bullet wounds. He only got more confused when he saw a passed out women with a pistol in one hand, and a small pool of blood in the palm of her other hand. Nick then noticed a gunshot in her shoulder. He concluded that the men were the ones who gunned her car down, which resulted in her getting shot in the shoulder. Making her run from them and managing to kill the men before going unconscious.
After checking for a pulse, Nick decided to bring the woman to his car to patch her up. "Who the hell is that?" Jerry said, as Nick reemerged from the woods, carrying the woman on his shoulders. "She's passed out and needs help," he said before grunting and laying her on the side of the car to get the first-aid kit. Nick cleaned the wound and wrapped it with the last of the of the bandages. He put the woman in the backseat of his car and they drove off.
