Nick was finally calming down, even though he knew this was going to be the humble beginnings of a very long and stressful journey. Once he parked his car, Nick gathered his research and went to the tent that the officer pointed at. When he entered the tent, he saw multiple coworkers all over the place trying to get their shit together and setup a temporary research facility. "Yo Nick!" He looked over and saw Jerry coming towards him with open arms. As they embraced each other, Jerry said, "I thought I'd never see you again." "So did I," Nick said as they stopped hugging each other.
Suddenly, a general walked into the tent, "everyone, if I could please have your attention for the next few hours," he said sternly. "Mind telling us what the hell is happening out there!?" A frantic researcher shouted. "Sir, calm down, all the information we've learned so far will be shared with you all in order for you all to maybe make something that'll give us the upper hand," the general said to the man. The researcher kept his mouth shut and the general proceeded to talk to everyone, "we, along with every other country, have been attacked by what would appear to be advanced ships that came to earth from light years away." Everyone was quiet, they couldn't believe what they were hearing, except for a few people along with Nick who saw the ships in-person.
The general continued, "we've been led to believe that whoever these aliens are, their motives are not in our favor. Their technology is clearly more advanced than anything we've ever seen before, their appearances are unknown, but before they destroyed all our communications, they sent every country an audio recording, which we'll be now playing for you all to hear." The general took out a CD player and placed a copy of the audio recording into it and pressed play. "Creatures of this planet," an alien began to say with a raspy and snarly voice. "We are here with the intentions of terraforming your planet to fit our necessities and to enslave you all to do the work for us, and if any of you attempt to fight back..." The alien paused for a moment while strange noises in the background filled the room, "severe punishments will be handed out, along with death." The recording ended there, and everyone fell silent.
"As you can all see, it's up to you to quickly develop something that'll give us even the slightest advantage against these invaders," the general said. "Is there really no other information you can share with us?" Nick said as he raised his hand. "Well, in an attempt to fight back, we used an EMP, in hopes to cutoff the ships' power supplies. Unfortunately, the only thing it did was temporarily shut down the cannons on the ships, which only lasted seconds. Besides that, nothing else did any damage to the ships, so I'd suggest you'd invest your efforts into making an electrical weapon that'll do a hell of a lot more damage than a EMP." The general replied to Nick. An idea popped up into his head after hearing the general's reply, "do you think, with enough static electricity, we might be able to do some damage to the ships' electronics?"
