Nick was confused and dazed. Never before did he think he would live to see the day when another civilization from outer space would come down to Earth. Nick was quickly snapped out of his daze when all of the sudden, the alien ships started shooting up the town with what would appear to be plasma cannons. "Get to the bomb shelters!" A neighbor yelled as he and his family were hurrying into a pickup truck. Nick quickly went back into his house to get supplies and then got into his car and floored it to the research facility. "Oh god I hope they didn't destroy it!" He said to himself frantically as he pulled into the parking lot of his workplace, which seemed to have received a few shots from the hostile invaders. Nick ran into the building and headed towards the department he was working at.
He stopped at his desk and was relieved to see all his research and progress was unharmed. "Thank god," Nick said as he was catching his breath. He started packing up all his work and booked it to his car to go to a bomb shelter. While he was driving, Nick turned on the radio to try to hear the emergency broadcast, but only heard static in all the stations. "Damn, they must've taken down the radio towers," he said as he was speeding towards the shelter.
After a couple of hours of speeding down the road, Nick finally arrived at the bomb shelter, which was packed with scared people who thought the entire world was coming to an end. "Dammit! It's too crowded!" Nick said in frustration when he realized the place was like a can of packed sardines. Nick proceeded to speed towards the closest military base in hopes that they'll let him in. Out of nowhere, a beam came down and obliterated the surface of the bomb shelter, killing everyone that was still struggling to get below ground level. Nick froze in horror as he witnessed everything in his rear-view mirror. He said to himself, "oh shit, Oh Shit, OH SHIT!" He was driving as fast as his car could go and prayed that he'd make it to the base.
Nick was zooming towards the base scared shit-less with the thought that he might get zapped by the aliens. His terror eased down a little as he saw the base in the distance. Hummers, tanks, and other military vehicles passed him while he was approaching. He stopped at the entrance and a military police officer quickly approached him. "I work at the research facility a couple hours from here, my name's Nicolas Coil," Nick quickly showed the officer his I.D. card. "Sir, We've sent troops to retrieve all the equipment and researchers from there and evacuate them, how come you're here?" He said. "I witnessed first hand the alien ships' mass destruction at my front door step and at the bomb shelter I tried to go to, I brought all my work with me, I'm willing to help with a counter-attack against them." Nick replied. "Okay, sir, come in and park your car at the parking lots and get into the tent," he said, while pointing at a tent across from the two of them. "Thank you so much," Nick said, before entering the base.
