Chapter 1 - The Night

 'Thummmb'

"What's this noise about?".

Stella murmured to herself, getting up from her sleep to hear a noise.

"Rika is that you?". She called out.

Hearing no response Stella got up from her bed. Rika would have given her a heads-up if she was coming here.

Someone must have broken in. Thinking of it gave her goosebumps. Tying her loose long hair in a ponytail securely Stella gave an emergency call and got hold of the baseball bat. Cautiously opening the door Stella step outside of her bedroom in the small hallway leading to the hall, walking cautiously with every step, her moment were slow with her back facing the wall in case someone attacked from behind.

Peeking in the hall there was nothing out of ordinary it was pitch black with just the tender ray of moon light passing through the window with the first snowfall of the year falling outside. There was no moment for a minute or so thinking that it was a hallucination. Stella internally sigh, her tight grip on the baseball bat loosen up a bit and she started to head back to her room with relief.

 'Thummmb'

Walking back to her room the sound that coming from behind her made Stella turned pale.

Stella suddenly snapped her head behind, this time Stella who had check earlier was surprised to notice a silhouette lurking in front of the balcony window that came into her view.

It is so vague.

Stella's breath quicken, tightening the bat around her fingers firmly Stella swap the bat around it.

What just happen shook the core out of her. The bat just passed through it like she had just hit it in the air, but Stella had definitely hit the shadow. It should be down by now, but nothing like that happened.

Soon the shadow started to move toward Stella. She couldn't tell who it was as the long hood was covering the entire face. It was wearing everything in black colour.

Taking the nearest lamp around her to protect herself by blocking its way from coming anymore further toward her, Stella closed her eyes and again swap in its direction.

 Thummb

There was another noise, but she didn't feel anything, nothing happen, same as before as hitting in air. Opening her eyes Stella found herself in a bubble.

'What, a bubble where did it come from?'.

The shadow in front of her pause for a second, but it again comes to attack her. But it couldn't get through the bubble.

'Is this bubble protecting me? What the hell is going on here?'

'How in the world can anything like this happen?'

Till the time Stella could process anything.

There were another few shadows one following the other. The first thing that come to her mind was to run away. But before she could proceed to do anything there was a loud sound that come from the balcony, behind her. Stella turns to see a tall man standing there majestically.

The man aura was simply just too powerful to be ignored. He stood their taking in every detail keenly and gave a sharp look toward Stella who was still in a bubble. Two other man followed behind him and in no time started attacking the shadows.

The man just stood their and just keep on staring at Stella when suddenly a shadow come to attack him from behind. Stella eyes widen seeing this. The man broken his gaze away from Stella and before the shadow could do anything he raised his hand and swiftly attacked the shadow.

Stella couldn't catch anything due to everything happening so fast that it was hard to see.

 'Am I dreaming'

Not knowing what was going on, her head started to hurt and the next second the tall man was right in front of her, just a step apart from her with only the bubble layer keeping them apart. Soon the bubble around Stella started to cracked up unknowingly.

Stella's heart started to beat rapidly in her chest that she could hear it herself. She could also sense a hint of danger coming from the man in front of her. In spur of a moment Stella grab the nearest thing beside her and moved it toward the man, but before it could reach him someone caught hold of her hand from behind and pulled her down to sit on the floor.

" How dare you ?". The one who pulled Stella order her, but that didn't move her gaze away from the tall man in front of her as his eyes where strangely capturing her from within.

She saw him walk over to where she was. When he come closer she noticed his eyes that were dark, his cheekbones high, arched eyebrows. With thick black hair that he had left it to be disheveled.

Earlier Stella had failed to notice the beauty of this man which was simply other worldly. In his comparison with the celebrity they would be nothing.

He must be the handsome male lead of some novel that some authors alway mention as -'The ladykiller'. Stella shook her head internally. 'This is not the time to find the handsome male lead of some novel. You are literally going to DIE here Stella FOCUS'. Stella got her mind on the correct lane.

As they stare at each other's eye Stella notice something dark and dangerous lurking behind his eyes which put her on an alert also drowning her in the deep oceanic galaxy of his eyes.

The man didn't break away his gaze away from the girl who was staring at him as he did. Frinnick push Stella's head down as to show some respect to his elite master.

With the man's gaze broken he looked up at Frinnick. Frinnick who feels his master gaze blazing at him immediately loses his hold on Stella. Knowing what has to be done Izael took his step behind.

Izael vaguely mutter something in front of Stella and she started to lose her consciousness. Stella tried reaching her hand to hold onto something, but she lost her focus and felt her body drifting out of her control and the last thing she saw was the beautiful face that started to blur.

Before she could fall flat on the floor the man swiftly caught hold of her in his arms.

Carrying her to her bedroom in his arms, leaving the people who had come with him stunned behind him, totally unbothered by the look he received. He placed Stella down on the bed with a pillow supporting her head. Pulling the blanket till her chest and tucked her in properly.

Izeal couldn't believe what Darren was doing. The companions who had come along with him were left flabbergasted. Darren had rushed here urgently, following an order from his father that couldn't be ignored. However, none of them had anticipated what they were witnessing now. Darren, known for his typically stoic and detached demeanor, was carefully carrying the girl in his arms, gently placing her on the bed, and even taking the time to tuck the blanket around her. This was entirely unexpected, as they had never seen him show such concern for anyone outside of his closest circle. Yet, here they were, seeing it with their own eyes.
