James awoke feeling rather stiff, really stiff actually. Hey he was alive that was good news. He was lying on his side in a bed, where was he? This looked like some fancy house. The burns on his side? James pulled up his shirt they were completely gone not even a scar from the incident. If it didn't feel so realistic James might have taken it for a dream. Although the fancy house was a dead giveaway.
He looked beside him and was surprised to see Jay sleeping. Wait they were in the same bed! Both good and bad thoughts ran through his head, what happened after that fireball?
He reached over and gently felt Jay's pulse.
"Let him sleep" said a voice and James turned to see a tall guy who looked kind of similar to Frost enter the room.
He walked over and ran some of his magic over Jay. James felt his breath quicken slightly, a sky user.
"Stupid, stupid idiot, I should punch the both of them for letting you two join." He muttered.
"Um who?" asked James.
"Nothing just thinking of how many times I need to punch my brother and that idiot friend of his." He replied.
James decided not to ask. Then a different question popped into his mind given that this guy was a healer type. "Is he going to be alright?" he asked motioning to Jay.
"Him? Yeah he'll be fine he just completely tanked his magic healing you." He then promptly left without another word. What a strange guy.
James looked back over at Jay. So freakin cute when he was asleep! Ah shoot he should have asked how long he'd be asleep for. How mad would Jay be if James decided to fall asleep hugging him? Hmm maybe he shouldn't. He still wasn't sure exactly what repercussions his kiss earlier had caused. But he was just so cute! Ooh maybe just a small hug for like a minute, that couldn't hurt anything right?
Unable to resist James gently wrapped himself around Jay with a huge smile on his face. He could totally stay like this forever. His cute little Jay had gone to all the trouble of healing him, how could he not want to hug him? He was just doing the logical thing after all.
His hair smelled so good. Shoot he had to hold still, he wasn't suppose to disturb Jay's rest ... was this bothering him to much? I just won't move. James held still gently breathing in Jay's scent. Cute times one hundred. Jay needed the cutie of the year award.
He wasn't sure how long he stayed like that …. It definitely wasn't just a minute. If he moved again he could disturb Jay, so it'd be better to just stay now.
He closed his eyes and ended up sleeping for a bit.
A gentle hand shook him awake. The same man from before. He rolled over blinking a little.
"Food" he said putting a bowl of soup on a side table. Talk about getting straight to the point.
"Who are you?" James asked.
The guy paused, "Just call me SkyStorm." He finally said. Great thought James, another cryptic name arrangement. Maybe this place belonged to the group of monster hunters from the monster alert app.
"Are Bright and Frost okay?"
"They are."
Oh good to know, that meant the snake was dead as well most likely. Maybe he should ask just to be sure.
"The snake?"
"Dead"
Did he ever say more than a sentence unless he was mumbling to himself?
"Eat already"
"Okay" James hurried to devour the soup, he felt like this mage wasn't someone you wanted to annoy.
"Where are we?"
"No where of importance."
"What kind of answer is that? Can I go outside and look then?"
"No" SkyStorm was firm with all his answers.
What are we hostages or something? Wondered James starting to feel a bit more unnerved. He started trembling a bit and SkyStorm's eyes moved to his chest and caught the movement.
"What you still hurt? I thought I healed everything your friend didn't manage to get already." SkyStorm's arms suddenly pushed him on his back and pulled up his shirt. James's breath caught in his throat thinking a million things until he realize he was examining where the fireball had hit him. Still awkward, warn someone next time.
The door opened and Frost entered. He glanced at James, "Don't terrify him Sky" he muttered.
"He'll live" Sky replied. "Besides we're going to just knock them out again."
Frost rolled his eyes, "Do you really think it's a good idea to tell him that?" he motioned to James who was trembling more now.
Knock him out again? What did he plan to do with them. Was escape possible, there was a window and it didn't look like it was barred. Sure they had helped with the snake but that didn't make James trust them. Also why wasn't Jay awake yet, if he'd just been knocked out from magic overuse it should have worn off by now.
He decided to focus on Jay, "Are you sure he's okay?" he asked motioning to the figure next to him.
Sky rolled his eyes, "Stop asking questions I've already answered, better yet don't ask any to begin with."
"See!" growled Frost "This is why you have a reputation as the most irritating healer to be around!"
"What's all the commotion?" muttered Bright entering the room. James's thoughts of escape plummeted, all three of the high level mages were here. He and Jay were at their mercy.
"Nothing, just figuring out the best way to answer his questions but not over tell anything." Frost replied.
"Ugh just make it simple on yourselves and knock them out." Muttered Sky picking up a cloth on the table nearby.
James felt his heartbeat speed up. As he watched him come over, "Wait….." he stuttered and his voice dropped off as the cloth covered his mouth and nose.
"Sorry but now that you're both fully healed it's time to send you back to your hotel roo…." Frost said quietly and James's eyes shut.
